Of course the beer is phenomenal, visited today during the Christmas Ale release. Oh, and for all who are wondering, yes, dogs allowed inside.

The beer of the moment... Sometime in August.

Fantastic beer in a cozy, tucked-away neighborhood location. There is always something new to try, and I've never been let down. The focus is definitely the beer, but they do serve some fresh, locally-baked Bavarian pretzels. They seem to be cool with people bringing in food, but it always helps to ask before doing so. The clientele seems to be mainly locals, professors, and grad students. It's one of the few spots in BG not overrun by screaming 21 year olds. It's really exciting to see Beer Works blow up with business over the past year! Get down there and help them grow even more!

Located in a small storage facility behind the main drag of BG bars sits Bowling Green Beer Works. The sign is a little discreet, but since I was heading in during a cold winter night, the illumination of the "Open" sign led my way. There is a stone parking lot behind the building, and plenty of spaces available. The inside is small. There are two garage doors that can open when the weather cooperates to add a little bit more breathing room, but I'd say with the bar seats and tables, about 20-25 people can fit comfortably without standing. This is a tasting room, so you come for the home-brewed beer and cider, and you head to BG's other fabulous eateries to fill your stomach. As for the beer itself, I was very impressed. For a small brewery that's only open on Friday/Saturday, I expected only about 3-4 beers on tap with maybe a seasonal mixed in. I was pleasantly surprised to see 8 beers available, and it would have been 9 if not for a mad rush the day before. For a relatively new craft beer area, this is a good place to start. They offered a blonde, pale ale, stout, porter, an india pale ale, a black india pale ale, a cider, and a seasonal. As per my usual when heading to a new brewery, I ordered a flight to see what was my favorite offering. They hadn't yet created flight paddles, so the samples came in their regular full mason jars. As a result, the pours were quite generous. Lucky me! The stars of the show for me were the Wit Christmas (a spicy Wit beer), the black IPA, and surprisingly enough, the blonde. It's difficult to make a blonde that appeals to a palate that craves hops, but this was smooth, flavorful, and easily drinkable. My wife really enjoyed the medium-dry cider, which the brewer told us is less sweet as a result of not adding sugar at the conclusion of the brewing process. Overall, it was a great experience. We showed up toward the end of the night but were welcomed with open arms. Over time I expect a bit more adventurous brews, but was very impressed with what was offered. Definitely worth a visit. Pair it with some Mr. Spots Fire Steak... it's a nice combo.

Love coming here. It's such a nice place to have a drink but have a lowkey atmosphere. There are often food trucks here as well and there is a large selection of beers.

Here's the brewery with the bay doors open on a beautiful summer day.

Great beer and incredible atmosphere. Bartenders are helpful to those just beginning their craft beer journey.

cool little place in Bowling Green. Pale Ale on tap was incredible (coming from a non-beer drinker), will definitely visit again.

I've only been to the Downtown Perrysburg location but have been impressed every time. They have a good variety of beers on tap that they make including some rotating seasonal selections. Not a beer drinker? They also have a full bar with specialty cocktails, wine, and NA options. I've stopped in a couple of times for a casual drink at the bar or to enjoy on their amazing summer patio area. They often have events like live music to enjoy so keep an eye out! This visit, I stopped in for brunch with friends. Their menu is smaller but has good variety and is priced well. I got the Biscuits & Gravy which had a handful of biscuits sauced in their house made gravy and topped with fluffy eggs. Delicious! My friend got the Chicken Salad Sliders which came with 3 pretzel bun sliders filled with yummy egg salad and a side option. He chose their chips which were tasty. My husband got the Chicken & Waffles. This was the most expensive but smallest portion. The sandwich itself was good and comes with a side but side options aren't listed on the menu. The entree was served on a large plate and simply looked small in size. Flavors were good but it left room for more food. Overall, this is a great, easy food and drink spot in Perrysburg. They offer their beers on tap but also some are canned for purchase in the to-go fridge. Stop out in the summer to enjoy their prime season and get a DORA cup to enjoy while walking around Downtown Perrysburg!
