And when I say twice, that's at least 2-4 times to Barra D' Cafe each visit to Ensenada. Pour over in the morning and sometimes also pour over or latte in the afternoon. I don't normally drink so much coffee, but...get the good stuff while I can. I've tried everything on their coffee and food menu. It has never disappointed. Still one of my top 3 favorite pour overs anywhere (that's including Tokyo), for every reason...flavor, value, vibe, and staff. They've recently shared some sad news about the loss of a (staff member?). With everyone being so wonderful there, it really is a tragedy. My heart goes out to them.

It really is the only coffeehouse in town, besides Cafe Toya, but the coffee is much better. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but is a great little oasis on the inside. Very cool and peaceful, with a bilingual library for book swapping. Free Wifi is a plus, since a lot of the internet cafes in town have closed or have unreliable hours. Graciela, the owner, has lactose free options and yummy homemade baked goods. If you're staying at Hostel Sauzal up the road, it's a quick 5 minute stroll. Convenient hours both in the morning and evening, 7 days a week. Closed Sunday mornings.

The only draw back was I wanted my drink cold, they made it hot, and it came out to $13 (for two churros and two small coffees). I gave a $20 and they said they didn't have dollars for change. I even tried to ask if they can throw in another filled churro and they said they can't do it. They do accept Apple Pay and credit cards but it's been a year since I came here, not sure if I did that last time. I already was holding up the line so I just said I would take pesos for change. Next time I am here, I will bring smaller bills as they don't have change. Otherwise, the Chocolate Mexican coffee was delicious and the churro was also, lots of seating, and one of the spots to visit!

Today this place is a Ceviche shop and the old cafe bar was moved upstairs and is no longer active. I've been down a dozen or so times in the past year and have yet to see Memo around.
