Every place I go I search for the best matcha. At this place it's already sweetened and tasted very good. They serve them in 8 and 12 oz. I would definitely come here again for their matcha. Outstanding. Hats off plus sincere thanks to Jess and her colleagues for taking care of us. Barra D'Cafe is a charming spot located in the cute/hipster/awesome Plaza Santo Tomás. There's bench style seating on the inside or abundant seating outside in the shared grounds. it was the late afternoon, so I expressed my desire for just one shot of espresso. Jess recommended a classic cappuccino or an iced latte. Given that it was a warm-wish day, I opted for the latter. You have your choice of non-dairy milks if you so desire. I went in on oat milk. Then with flavor here's where things get really interesting - they have a white sage option! Very unique, with distinct notes of smoke and an overall earthiness. Absolutely delicious and memorable. I loved the location, everyone was very quite inside the shop. The menu is very straightforward. They didn't have many options, but sometimes it's better that way. The coffee... was amazing. We stopped by Barre De Café as part of a self-guided food & drink tour on a cruise visit to Ensenada. A 30 minute walk from the port, you'll be rewarded with a charming café offering authentic mexican beverages (we opted for the Mexican hot chocolate - great tasting with a spicy edge), from friendly, and attentive staff. If you happen to be in Ensenada trying out wine for the day I think a quick coffee stop at Barra D'Cafe is required. I come to Ensenada two or three times a year for events and I almost always end up stopping for a latte at Barra D'Cafe. This café has the traditional coffee, teas and espresso drinks. I almost always get a latte or a cappuccino. The pastries and baked goods are great as well. I recommend the chocolate chip cookies. This complex also features other businesses as well. There is a mezcal tasting room, a restaurant on the top floor and of course Santo Tomas is nearby. The bathrooms are toward the back of the building. If you're in Ensenada and want a caffeine charge I recommend you try Barra D'Cafe. read more

I advise you to step off the beaten path and head to Barra D' Cafe if you find yourself in Ensenada. Several blocks away from the ocean lies this small, nicely decorated coffee shop with knowledgeable coffee baristas. Excellent coffee. We ordered a pour over Nayarit and a maple latte. Highly recommended. I ended up buying some coffee to take back to San Diego. They roast the coffee is small batches on site. Cute little coffee slightly off the beaten path. A quick walk and you are there. High quality, small batch coffee that is roasted on site. The staff was friendly, spoke English and very detailed oriented. After we got our drinks we sat outside in the courtyard and enjoyed watching the world go bye. I always enjoy and appreciate hip/creative establishments in areas where they may be few and far between. This is one of them, you can tell that the owner has a passion for high quality coffee experiences. I ordered the maple y sol latte with an extra shot of espresso which was VERY flavorful and delicious. My husband ordered a regular latte, and although he enjoyed it, he was very jealous of mine. We chatted with the baristas and she showed us some tips and tricks on how to decorate with the steamed milk. The coffee shop was on the smaller side, but it had an adjacent room for more seating. I came here because it seemed like the most famous cafe here. I liked how they were roasting their own beans. They also used a timer. But, it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. The guy making the pourover wasn't paying a lot of attention to his pouring and would walk away from the v60 for a long time. When we got our drink, we were kinda disappointed. This is my favorite café in Ensenada. I've been coming here for 3 years since I first met Francisco (the owner). It's a very cozy and relaxing spot with great decor and most important of all,the coffee is delicious and organic. I always get a 500g pack to take with me back to the US every couple of months. Found this cute little coffee shop in Ensenada. The decor makes for great photos. Also the coffee isn't too bad either and everything is reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful and one of them spoke English which made it easier for our group to order. The coffee bar is pretty small, but there are two separate rooms where you can hang out and enjoy your coffee. Just be careful with parking and make sure that you don't park in a space that is reserved for another shop! read more

I was incredibly fortunate to stumble upon Barra de Cafe last week. Ensenada offers many culinary delights, but I didn't expect to find a coffee shop here that offers single-origin beans and roasts them on site! I know next to nothing about beans originating from Mexico, and Alonso explained the various origins of the beans and what flavor notes to expect from them, and how their roasting technique highlights the sweetness of the beans. As I watched him make my pourover coffee and listened to him talk about the process, I couldn't help but notice how passionate he, and the team behind the bar, was about the entire bean to cup experience. I was there for over an hour, enjoying coffee, a fantastic little salty cookie, and great conversation. By the way, there's no pretension here. If you're in Ensenada, you owe it to yourself to stop by. read more

Such a beautiful gem tucked away in a gorgeous old building with a number of other great looking businesses that weren't open so early in the morning. They do accept Apple Pay and credit cards but it's been a year since I came here, not sure if I did that last time. I already was holding up the line so I just said I would take pesos for change. Next time I am here, I will bring smaller bills as they don't have change. Otherwise, the Chocolate Mexican coffee was delicious and the churro was also, lots of seating, and one of the spots to visit!

I ordered the Mocha del Valle, which was rich and flavorful. The latte art was also beautiful! Highly recommend! There are a few tables inside and outside for customers to sit in, and the interior is trendy and airy. This is a perfect spot to unwind and get caffeinated!
