Dr wasn't very pleasant. Refused to treat me. Was "uncomfortable " treating me. No explanation

Worst experience of my entire life!! Gave me the run around for weeks ultimately got nothing accomplished.

My daughter has been going to this dentist for 6+ years. She absolutely loved him and refused to go anywhere else, even after going to college in Florida and moving to 3 different states in the tri-state area. While home from school, she was scheduled for three fill-ins with the dentist. He informs her while in the chair, that he will only being doing 2 of the 3 fill-ins. She (semi) joked with him about being nervous about the fill-ins despite having done the procedure multiple times and having the utmost trust in him as a dentist. They get through the procedure, and as she's going to schedule her next visit for the other fill-in, he tells her that he was uncomfortable continuing to serve her as a dentist because she was "too anxious", "her anxiety was transferable" and he would no longer do her last fill-in or any fill-ins going forward. He condescendingly asked her if she had to take anxiety medication before coming to the dentist. But ironically enough, proceeded to say he had to leave the room multiple times during the procedure because he was "shaking" and otherwise anxious. My daughter was completely taken back by this, as she acted as she normally did in her 6+ years of getting a fill-in with him. She did not move, shake, or stop him at any point during the procedure. While she is distraught, I am happy that he showed his true colors so she can find a dentist that can navigate a patient that is averagely anxious about getting holes drilled into their mouth during a dental procedure. If you are an averagely anxious patient or have any range of dentist phobia, please be weary that this dentist may pick up your anxiousness and refuse to service you, no matter how long you've been a patient with him. If you are an emotionless human, and made of steel perhaps, you may be in luck! read more

Although, I've had severe oral decay and lacked oral care, Dr. Escriva and his team didn't make me feel like it was totally my fault. They recommended me to do fillings and reminded me to floss(which i rarely do) and to use certain toothpastes. I went in for a cleaning as I do once every since months, but this time it was different because my molar was completely gone from decay. Dr. Escriva did his magic and in a few weeks time we did a root canal, a post, and a crown. I'm truly happy with the result because I can eat on the right side of my mouth again! I definitely would recommend my friends and family to come here and get some oral care. read more

The front desk staffs are nice and helpful! but Dr. Anthony is moody and grumpy. He talked down to his staff all the time and made me very uncomfortable. I had to go back 6 times for a dental crown because he didn't do it correctly. I was charged for those visits and went thru the painful procedures again and again. I will never go back there. I am surprised it's still in business. read more

I wish I didn't have to give him a single star. If you like a highly confrontational, rude, extremely defensive dentist, then this is the guy for you! He just insulted my husband and started an argument with him. He verbally attacked me in front of my daughter for asking a question. I've heard him being being horrible to his staff and other patients while sitting in his waiting room. Do not go here. You've been warned. read more

I have been coming to Brewster Dental Care for about 10 years now. Have never had any issues with billing, office staff, or Dr. Escriva. He is very skilled and efficient at what he does; and is great with anxious patients! He and his staff know how to work with my insurance plan for maximum benefit to the patient. Let me start with some backstory, I applied on indeed to be a dental assistant almost a month ago. The Dr called me today. We had a short chat, he started off by laughing telling me he was confused about my resume and being a nursing student and how he isnt looking to hire someone short term. I explained I was looking for a career change and if I liked dental I was going to stick with it and maybe further persue dental education in the future. He goes on about how he was just so confused about my resume. I asked if he would like to set up an interview even though by his tone and first impression I was 90% sure this isnt someone I wanted to work with. He says yes that would be great. I said before we continue may I ask what we are looking at in terms of salary. He laughs and replies, "Does it matter"... As an adult with bills, I would assume that pay matters to most. I replied, "Yes" and he replied "Nevermind then im not interested, Goodbye" and hangs up the phone. I shouldve asked does his pay matter? He's a joke, I would hope anyone who thinks about applying reads this and decides its best to not! read more

Had my first appointment here today and I will not be going back. The front desk staff were nice but confused. They booked me for a cleaning & check-up when I called a few weeks ago, but when I showed up today, they said I did not have an appointment for a cleaning. Instead it was for a "meet and greet" with the dentist. Can't wait to see how they bill my insurance for that! The exam room seemed dirty and there was a puddle of water on the floor from a dripping instrument. The only dentist at this practice is Dr. Anthony Escirva and he is terrible. He was creepy and condescending from the first moment of the appointment. He talked about himself at length & how dentists have high suicide rates. It was bizarre and way too much information. He smelled bad and made me feel very uncomfortable. After a quick look at my teeth, he told me to make two additional appointments to have cavities filled and then a fourth appointment to actually have a cleaning done. I'm not sure what the purpose of this whole visit was for, since he didn't do anything except weird me out. I missed a day of work for nothing. I will not be returning & I would advise others not to waste their time & money here. There's a much better dentist office right in the same complex, Dr. Joseph Marino. I'd recommend trying there. read more

I see he hasn't changed. I can go in to a long sordid tale about how I had the audacity to ask if he was running late so my son could complete his first soccer game prior to his appointment but I'll refrain. The guy is a total narcissistic and my doctor patient relationship ended with him confirming that his time is more valuable then mine (in his opinion) as he screamed (brow beat) his poor scared mortified receptionist to call the police if I did not leave immediately. I left with my 5 y/o son in tow never to return. Surprised he is still in business after all these years. Steer way clear. I only put one star because I had to. read more

Like many people I had been unable to make time to maintain my teeth and ended up with a dental emergency. The office staff worked with me, patiently, to get me in the same day. There was no judgement for my lack of dental care, or that I couldn't remember my insurance information. The doctor was clear in his communication which is something I find rare. He took the time to review dental care to make sure I was doing it correctly, and surprise I hadn't been. I was all to happy to learn because there was no judgement. The waiting room is small and clean. The exam room is small, clean and with so much to look at to take my mind off of the pain. When I left the office staff told me to call if there is a problem. That made me feel reassured that if I still have pain they would be there to help me with what I needed. read more

I feel blessed that I found Dr. Escriva and his office staff. My two young daughters, myself, and my husband needed an oral health "overhaul" ;) after a year long lapse in dental insurance. My one young daughter required extensive dental work to be performed. As a mother, I was heart broken and ashamed that I had not been diligent in the past regarding professional oral hygiene. Dr. Escriva and his staff were able to assess the situation efficiently and with grace. I had previously bounced my daughter from dentist to dentist, seeking an office that was honest and upfront about insurance coverage. At the same time searching for a dentist with the expertise and demeanor to perform the work needed to be done on a seven year old. Locating Dr. Escriva's was a gift! His office decorum is that of stepping into a children's theme park! There are Super Hero's, Avengers, and Star Wars heros from wall to wall! It is classy and the art work atmosphere is uplifting and light! There are televisions for children and adults to watch, distracting them with amusement as their teeth are tended to. I trusted Dr. Escriva completely following an initial consultation. He treated my daughter with sweetness, with respect, and he has a hand so gentle and light to the touch that my daughter seemed to smile throughout three lengthy procedures . My daughter felt no discomfort, during or following the appointments. She was never fearful or worried before arriving to the office. She seemed to know what expert, caring hands she was in! I have since scheduled appointments for my entire family, including my young daughter with special needs. I have complete confidence in Dr. Escriva and his office staff. I am thankful for my insurance company making his services available to my family !!!! read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. The front desk staff has NO CLUE about insurance plans they participate in and come off as quite entitled. I asked for my daughters medical records as I will need to find a new dentist(suddenly don't participate with my insurance and this appointment was made in March.....call me ahead of time to let me know??? NOT A CHANCE!!) and was given a scowl and a curt response. I guess in the end it's a blessing..... read more

Let me start by saying I haven't been to a dentist in a few years and I had been referred to dr. Anthony by my last dentist because he takes my insurance. I had been to a bunch of horrible dentists and was weary because of two bad reviews on yelp. I couldn't have been happier with the service. I needed a root canal and that automatically made me nervous. Dr. Anthony put me at ease and I didn't feel a thing he was amazing. He is very confident which is a good thing in my book. First rate service and very nice place. Top notch in my book. He is now my dentist for life. read more
