In the past, I have had some excellent work done by this shop. Unfortunately, there has been a serious decline in the ability of this framer. Recently, I left a poster to be framed, and after months and months and numerous missed deadlines to complete the work, I had to ask for the poster back. Nina is brilliant. Her ideas are great. Her work is top notch. She is also insane. And she cannot make any sort of deadline. Do not come to Nina to get your work done on a timeline. You should expect to have to call her a few times to follow up and spur her on. You will hear lots of stories about her large family, of which she is the self-proclaimed matriarch, and their various travails. Which is not to belittle her or her family. Just, you are going to hear about them every time you call. But ultimately the lady delivers a great product. read more

Truth be told, this isn't your average frame shop. It's more of an artist's workshop. Nina and Dixie are honest and fair both with pricing and managing the expectations of their clients. They are able to take simple photos or puzzles or posters and bring them to life. My family has been coming here for years and I've developed an "art" bug as well--seeing what they can do with the simplest of photos makes me go hunting for other things they can frame! They've been a part of Glendale for as long as I can remember---and I've been living here for 30+ years (same time as I've been alive, incidentally). Her shop is the polar opposite of the cold, corporate framing counters in chain art stores. She treats you like an individual. It's worth going just to hear her wonderful stories while she works. You will never find a better assortment of frames, so you don't have to confine your special treasures to the usual ugly black or pinewood colored frames made in China. My artwork was framed beautifully at what must have been HALF the price that Aaron Bros. would have charged, and done with considerably more care and personalized service. Brey's has been a staple in Glendale for decades, and to the uninitiated, it may seem a bit ramshackle. But these guys know their stuff, and offer a wide selection of frames -- including a library of recycled antique designs -- that you simply won't find in the major chains. As Brey's is a very small, family company, they may need a little more time to get a job done. But they do it well -- and I was floored by the value of their work. read more

I purchases a print from one of my favorite artists a while back and was shopping around places to have it framed. Brey's had the best reviews so I took it to them. It was a little expensive but I payed for quality and it was done in the quoted time of about a week and a half. I was very pleased with the service. I purchased three more pieces and took my business back to Brey's. I mentioned I was leaving for a long out of town job in two weeks and asked if they could have them completed by the time I left. They Said they would try which is the best I could hope for. Unfortunately they were not completed but I understand completely and looked forward to coming back in 6 weeks and seeing the finished product. 8 weeks later, upon my return I called to see if I could come pick them up. They informed me they were not completed. REALLY, 8 weeks is not enough time I guess. I got not many apologies and a whole lot of excuses for the delay. I expected a call later that day to inform me I could pick up the pieces but didn't receive one. I called them late afternoon the next day to discover they were just finishing my pieces of art. Obviously I was not a priority and my business was marginalized for whatever reasons. I understand that delays can happen but 8 weeks to frame 3 pieces is unacceptable. As to the quality of work, Breys did a really good job and I am happy with the work but it took way too long. There are plenty of other picture framing businesses in LA and I think I will try any one of them out before going to Brey's again. I would not recommend this place if you want your pictures framed by any kind of deadline. read more

These guys are amazing! George and Nina treat their clients like family. Customer service is excellent and they do an amazing job. They framed 19 photos for my first gallery and they did not disappoint given the amount of time they had to work with. I'm so glad someone told me about these guys, they are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I've actually gone back to get more of my photos framed! And I will probably keep coming back since they make my photos look even more beautiful. Oh, and did I mention that their prices are super competitive? I looked everywhere for affordable but high-caliber framers, and no one could beat their price. They are simply THE BEST! read more

This lady is the definition of bat shit crazy. One of the most unprofessional people I've ever met. She did a fine job with the paintings.... But took her way longer than expected and I had to call several times to find out what's going on. She had every excuse in the book from people getting murdered to it being too hot to work and my personal favorite was " I've just changed into my comfy clothes".
