He offered me coffee and gave me the history of the bookstore. He even took his time to grind me a bag of coffee!!! Not to mention Chardai personally reached out to me on status of book swag that I was looking for! That follow up and follow through really matters! Amazing staff! The book selection is phenomenal and even had the new Kennedy Ryan release available! The books are categorized by genre which makes it easy for shopping. They have vinyls for sale In the front of the store and in their back area. In the back is this super cute grandmas basement type setup with vintage couch seating, walls of crates of vinyls, a DJ booth AND a vinyl listening station that allows you to sample the vinyls. How cool is that?! They also have cute trinkets available such as stickers, greeting cards and pins. They even have one-of-a-kind coffee table books! And the coffee?!? WOW! A cup of coffee and your favorite book for less than $20?! Absolutely! And as you're walking out, check out the flyer at the back of the door as they have authors and other events posted! Outside has a small seating area and a clearance book section to check out. So go grab a book, a cup of coffee and enjoy a beautiful Maryland day at one their outside tables ( once it's warm lol) I can't wait to go back! Such a great bookstore!

It's easy to visit a bookstore and find all the feature books to be by the same people: James Patterson, Colleen Hoover, and Taylor Jenkins Reid. That's great, but what about other authors and genres?? I saw not one of the previously mentioned books (and I loved it), but instead authors and titles I'd never heard of. I ended up purchasing two titles I knew nothing about. They say never judge books by the cover? Why not? If they're beautiful, then buy them. That's what I did, and I loved both books! The selection was incredible, and certain books had blurbs written by the staff to help with your decision-making. This store has so much to offer for a variety of audiences. Give it a try next time you're in Silver Spring.

I guess my dog thought so too because she would not move. The owner Michael came out and said he didn't have a problem if we wanted to take a look. That was very nice of him. Once inside my dog and I were pretty excited. She was eager to browse and I was eager to take my time in looking through all the neat things. There were so many cool things to see from vinyl records to book ends. There's a lot of collectibles as well. I ended up buying a book on Gandhi and a bandana for my dog. I look forward to coming back!

I came here to check out the new home of House Mouse, one of my favorite little indie bookstores in…read morethe city. It had been a while, so I didn't realize they had moved to this location sharing a new home with two other shops. I perused the wares to see what was available, taking in the plants, array of vintage furniture and other little quirky offerings. The plants were priced higher than some of the potted plants at Ace Hardware, although a few of them did come in unique planters so that could explain the price difference. A lot of the furniture is also for sale, except for a few pieces which were clearly marked as "not for sale". Everything is laid out thoughtfully and made for perusing. I wasn't greeted upon entering, but the other people that walked in after me were. And when I got to the register, the cashier didn't engage in friendly chatter with me like she did the other patrons. It felt like she wanted me out as soon as possible. While the old location of House Mouse was small and didn't hold as many books as this new location, I didn't have that kind of experience in the old shop. Your mileage may vary upon your visit, but I don't think I'll be back.

This is not the typical "gift shoppe" that orders from various catalogues, they work hard to source the most unusual things. As such, you never know what you will find from visit to visit.
