Cycle, Barre, Pilates, Sculpt, Yoga, HITT and more. I particularly enjoy Mara's classes (especially Saturday Barre, hope to see you there!). Mara was named by Good Times Magazine as one of the top yoga teachers in Santa Cruz, for good reason! I have also been able to attend classes by Wesley, Lee, Michelle, Tate and Bijou, who are all masterful in their own right. The staff behind the counter is super friendly. Everyone was expected to lay their mats directly on top of other people's sweat, and the weights were still wet and sticky. For a studio at this price point, I would expect much better sanitation practices. Clean equipment and floors aren't just about appearances, they're important for helping prevent the spread of germs and ensuring members feel comfortable. I hope the studio makes cleanliness a higher priority moving forward because otherwise it's a fantastic place to work out.

I originally started going to Balanced Health & Fitness to seek help for digestive issues as well as food sensitivities, allergies, eczema, inflammation, etc. I immediately started coming in for weekly detox foot baths and was surprised to learn about all the icky build up that accumulates in our bodies over time. It was interesting to see the toxins at the end of your bath, and see exactly what each of the different colors mean. Soon I started infrared sauna sessions as another form of detox alternating between the foot baths. I am glad I did - the sauna is so relaxing! After taking a shower, I feel like a renewed version of myself. The hair analysis test has been a major help as well. Through understanding what minerals I was deficient in/ had excess of, I was able to change my diet and take vitamins and minerals better suited for my body's needs. I can happily say I no longer experience any of the digestive symptoms I had originally sought help for. Daniel, who owns it, has got to be the happiest coach you'll ever meet and all the other coaches truly care about your performance or form, even when they are just working out along side you. As with all boxes the classes are a great mix of very young to very old athletes from all walks of life so it makes it easy for people new to the area or new to crossfit to fit right in. Love it!!
