I reached out to 2-3 photographers, I advised wanting a photo shoot at a park, no beaches, yes I know we will in Hawaii but everyone does a beach photo. First photographer didn't even respond to my online, email requests. I even called the phone number listed, left a message, no call back. Second photographer confirmed will not be a good fit for my request due to only does nature photography, so only beaches, hmmm, last I checked parks with trees is nature! Final photographer, Sky & Reef Photography -Tara Morenfeld with all the information I requested for. Reserved a Sunday morning date, Tara was on time and ready to go. Worked with the 1year old first, while baby is in a good mood! Worked with each individual ohana then entire ohana. I appreciated she split our time with us between our actual wedding and before wedding shots. I understand everyone has "their own style" but some things were not about style. Granted, I know the Hawaiian sun is harsh, but as a photographer, you must understand lighting. The pre wedding photos we took down in the blowhole were good, but not great. None of the photos had any editing, and if there was any, I couldn't see where. She left nips in my dress there, and did not blur them. Horrible posing, and very few that I could actually show my family or friends. I was so embarrassed that as a woman she wouldn't understand modesty. Now, my wedding...there's the kicker. Half of my guests were facing the sun. She placed everyone in harsh sunlight, which created harsh shadows, and caused my guests eyes to be squinted or closed. I am not even a photographer, and I think I have enough common sense not to face people towards the sun. I don't understand why she did this. Very few photos I could use. I am having to learn photoshop because I am hoping to salvage some of these. I have so many harsh shadows and she washed everyone out, that I cant barely touch these up in Photoshop. Once the lighting is messed up, theres not much I can do to save the photo. She did not pay attention to detail and took pictures of us in a street where there were cars, street signs, ugly buildings, and structures in the background. I will never understand why she did this. I was really sad, It has taken me a year to return to my wedding photos and try to fix them. With so many tools in photoshop, even as a beginner, why not crop out the ugly telephone pole, street sign, or make the grass a little better? I live in Florida and this was our destination wedding. I paid her upfront and immediately, a year in advance (just about). The pictures she gave me look nothing like what I saw on her website or instagram. I was so disheartened. I am glad I did get a video from someone else. I paid so much less for an amazing video from someone else. If I could do it again, I would have paid someone else. It felt like she pointed and clicked with no rhyme or reason, and no retouching or editing was done of any kind. It's like she didn't care about what she was doing, or the quality of work. This was my wedding and almost all pictures have shadows, squinted faces, or eyes closed. Not acceptable for wedding photos. My friends and family's iPhone pictures actually turned out better. Please think long and hard, and really look before you pay someone for your wedding photos. You only have one wedding, don't hire a bad photographer who doesn't pay attention to details. Im sorry I have to leave this review, but its not okay to pay that amount of money for a once in a lifetime event for it to be so sloppy. Again, this is not an attack on her personally, but the work was just not there. you can see some of where I tried to fix attached. The before on the left hand side and the right the after. Mind you these are some of the best ones. There are way worse ones with harsh shadows and eyes.

Once on the beach she was such a pleasure to talk to just as a human being, and made taking pictures relaxing, she did such a great job with our two year old son (making him laugh) and me being pregnant (feeling comfortable in a see-thru flowy gown). She told me the pictures could take up to 2-3 weeks before we got them, and around week 4 I text her to make sure everything was okay, and the next day she sent us the pictures. I didn't want to to rush her because I did a lot of research on photographers and her aesthetic was so beautiful and worth waiting for, but was insanely relieved that all was good and gave us the pictures close to checking in. My only feedback to anyone working with Krystal is to give her the time she needs to do her job - it's worth every penny and minute! And when she delivered the pictures they were incredible. They turned out SO GOOD! I knew they'd be good but I still have no idea how she was able to capture some of the photos she did. You need the optimal conditions and I valued that he made sure that the weather was perfect for my first time practicing flying my drone. My husband got me a drone about three years ago for my birthday or Christmas. It was just poor timing on his part because he gave it to me the same year we had a baby. I guess he didn't figure that having a baby would take up 100% of your time and leave no time for drone flying. Well she's three now and a lot more independent so we decided to open our drone box. Lesson #1: don't be like me and open your box three years later. We had a few batteries that wouldn't charge up because it was sitting idle for so long. Alex gave me some good recommendations of what to do and who I could possible take the batteries to check them out. I met Alex at Kawainui Model Airplane Field. I have never been there but it was a great place to learn. It was a wide open area perfect for people who are just learning. Just in case they don't know how to move their controls. Alex was a good instructor. He told me about the rules of flying and how to be cognizant of the environment around before flying. He had me do several tries of the different controls. It was a little confusing at first but he was patient. I didn't get it but he helped me understand it better by putting it into analogies. Then I kept thinking of the analogy to help me remember the controls. I learned how to control it in all directions and take a selfie. I'm glad that I took this course. My husband was super excited that I finally got to use my drone. So I showed him what I learned in class and he's hooked too. Thanks Alex for the great lesson!

When it comes to getting those perfect family pictures, you can't be anything but choosy to capture…read morea perfect moment. Particularly a shoot with 5 kids, no easy task. I came across an ad on Facebook's Military Buy, Sell, & Trade. I liked the portfolio shown and reached out to Alexey to inquire on pricing and scheduling details. Response time was very quick and professional and pricing was very reasonable. *Note: A deposit will need to be put down.* Honestly I think more people in the service industry should do this. Think about it, it's their livelihood and if you cancel they missed on having someone one else in that slot. Alexey was so helpful in giving ideas for locations and best places/timing to capture my kiddos. We scheduled on a Friday for that Monday. A quick turn around and I was super excited yet cautious just not knowing much feedback for this photographer. I did keep my faith and it paid off! :) Alexey was prompt and sooooooo easy to work with! He was very patient with the kids, was accepting to my ideas and yet some wonderful ones of his own. He took the time to give me a wide variety to choose from and get the kids in raw moments as well as "staged." We had a great time doing the shoot, tons of giggles and smiles. Alexey was SUPER quick to turn around the images for me to choose for edit, like 24 hours or less quick. There were over 500 images to go through, picking just 10-15 was no easy task. I couldn't be more grateful for that many pictures though, he really took a lot of time for a great deal! I ended up choosing a bit more than the 15 for the extra fee and it was sooo worth it, still such a bargain! The edited photos came back quickly, and the fortunate part, due to the great job the first go around, no edits were really needed. The photos are all throughout my house and up to date, finally! HNL Studios...how can I even describe how God has blessed my husband and me by finding such an…read moreamazing business to handle our wedding photography/videography?   I initially found HNL Studios years ago through an old classmate of mine; I loved the style of her wedding photos and I wanted something similar for when I got married.  So I followed them on instagram.  Fast forward 4 years later and I got engaged.  I'm the type of girl who has had her dream wedding planned in her head since she was 6 years old and I just knew that I had to have HNL Studios to do photography/videography, so I literally contacted them and my dream venue within a week of getting engaged.  My husband and I got married exactly within a year of our engagement; during that time, Keshia and Charles made it almost effortless to plan our wedding.  They were always willing to answer any silly questions we had and we had great vibes during our planning meetings.
