The food here is very reasonably priced and pretty tasty. I got the chicken kabob plate and really enjoyed the gyro meat and the Greek salad. However, when we arrived at 12 noon on a Tuesday, no one appeared to be working. It took maybe 5 min for someone to come to the counter to help us. The primary eating area had bad acoustics, so we could hear everything that the people having a meeting were saying. It sounded as if we were sitting with them. This place is inside a MARKET. Only a few option. Had to wait for the only person working on the front taking order. We order the Gyro plate and Beef Skew plate. It takes a while to come out. Went here recently and was dissapointed. The gyros were overseasoned and it just feels like there is no love involved with the place. I bought a jar of the pickled veggies and I got home to a leaky bag. The lid was opened partly but not only that the brine just looked cloudy and gross. I didn't bother taking it back . My wife and I love Briar Mart! Shawn makes the best gyros in town. It's our go to if we can't make up our mind, if we are celebrating, if we are feeding friends, if we are pressed for time, if we don't feel like cooking. Basically anytime :) The other day we had the gyro nachos. Fried pita, gyro meat, feta, Tzatziki sauce. Perfect. Easy to access near Woodmen and Academy. Also if you're out for a ride on the Cottonwood Trail, it's right there. Definitely stop in! Pickup ordering is super easy too. Just call ahead and your delicious food will be waiting for you. Lousy tomatoes, not enough taziki sauce, raw white onion (yuck), lettuce, and that was it. The only thing I liked in the whole meal was the bread. The person waiting on us was not friendly or welcoming. The building is tired and nothing special, but you know what I could care less about the inside, if they have tasty food made with care I will go anywhere. Long story short, the food gave me the runs so I won't be back....read on for other thoughts.... They didn't use feta on the greek salad which was bizarre. It was some kind of grated cheese...maybe mozzarella? I've seen pics of their greek salad and it looks like they usually use feta. Maybe they were out on this day and said 'Heck, throw some other tasteless cheese on there. They'll never know the difference'....I noticed the difference and the salad was really missing the tang of feta. Greek dressing was bland. Salad = zero stars Chicken kabob was bland, no seasoning whatsoever. Gyro meat was tasty dipped in tatziki! This was the only saving grace of the whole meal. Portions are generous. We ordered the hummus and pita, with a gyro sandwich and gyro value meal. The hummus was fresh and pretty good. The pita bread was amazing! I think the best I've ever had. It was crispy on the outside and hot and fresh with perfect flavor. Definitely the best thing we got. The French fries were just boring. Def skip the value meal and just get the gyro sandwich. The meat was good, but I've had better. It had a great texture and wasn't tough to chew, and the flavor was good but not amazing. It was there, but not a lot. The tzatziki was kinda boring, like maybe it's missing the cucumber seasoning? I can't say. And again with the pita. Overall, the sandwich was good and I would get the it again. This place is a hidden gem in Colorado Springs. Not only is it a great little Mediterranean taverna, they have a little market with hard-to-find Mediterranean grocery items.
