He is the most caring eye doctor that I've ever work with. When it goes to my eye exam, he schedule 4 times with no charges to get the best result. I went to see Dr. Muldoon for the first time after a weekend visit to the ER. I had a terrible eye infection that had spread to both eyes and I needed to follow up with an eye specialist. Dr. Muldoon prescribed an oral antibiotic in addition to the topical antibiotic I received in the ER. It made all the difference! I saw Dr. Muldoon when I finished my treatment for the eye infection, and after making sure all was well, he gave me a specific recommendation for keeping my eyes well. I saw Dr Muldoon for an updated vision prescription as well as for some eye issues. He was very pleasant, engaging, knowledgeable, and thorough. I needed to get annual eye exams and glasses for my 3 kids and myself, I came here because my previous optometrist was overcharging me for frames and lenses. I came to fill out prescriptions for 2 of my kids and annual exams for my boy and I. Paid a quarter of what I was paying at my previous eye care center. The doctor took time to explain any of our questions, he was patient with my boy and I, I felt welcome and really comfortable with him. It was like he knew us for years or were his regulars. Dr. Muldoon and the staff are excellent here, with one exception. Avoid the Saturday substitute doctor! After she dilated my eyes, I went to sit in the lobby. I could hear her talking about me to another staff member, at the front desk. I turned and looked at her, at which point, she lowered her voice and continued to talk about me. I hate going to doctors... chances are, I'm going to be stuck in the waiting room for 20 minutes, the doctor is finally going to see me and give me a "wham bam thank you ma'am" examination, and I'll sign off on a hefty bill before I leave - but still wonder if my issue is actually taken care of or if I was just spat off the end of a conveyor belt with nothing to show for for my ride but a little piece of paper with a prescription written on it. Dr. Muldoon is quite the opposite. I am a tricky case for eye doctors, as I had lasik several years ago and my vision has regressed a bit, but now I have an oddly shaped cornea that affects how well my contacts work, plus I still have some post-lasik dry eye problems to contend with. Dr. Muldoon really took the time over the course of my initial appointment and my follow-ups to sort out my issues, educate me about general eye health, and get me into the right set of contacts. Other pros: his office accepts VSP insurance, the staff is really helpful and friendly, his office is spotless, there is plenty of free parking out front, and they have a nice selection of glasses frames. Any optometrist can write a prescription for corrective eyewear, but it was important to me to find someone who would look at the whole picture and really take care of my vision now and for the future. I have been singing Dr. Muldoon's praises to several of my friends (even the ones not currently having eye problems!), and I highly recommend him for all of you Yelpers out there looking for a fantastic eye doctor. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Muldoon for over 15 years and I wouldn't see any other eye doctor. He is not only friendly, but extremely knowledgeable, and makes the visit as pleasant as possible. His staff is also top notch which always helps. I used to get eye infections frequently before Dr. Muldoon suggested the Dailes Total 1. These lenses changed my life. I actually asked if there were any less expensive that I could try. He gave me some samples, but no comparison to the water gradient Dailes Total 1. So, I'll be staying with Dailes Total 1. They are actually very comfortable, more comfortable than any other contacts I have worn. At my follow up exam, he had to make a very minor adjustment to my prescription. Where do I begin. Reason I called this place because they were in network! My husband wanted a pair of Rayban frames and they said they could order them. Well when she called back with the price of the frame it was over 100.00 more than the suggested retail price. My plan allows 129.00 per frame and these were 159.00. They told me the retail was 228.00! All over the internet plus several other vision places suggested retail was 159.00. When I brought it to her attention she said that she would have to ask if they could match the manufacture suggested retail price. Question why was it over inflated in the first place by 100.00. She got back on the phone and said yes she thought they could. So we took care of that problem. Then the single vision she said I had a 30.00 copay as well as telling me I needed to upgrade the plastic to get transition which both co pays on those upgrades were over inflated. I called the place were I had just purchased glasses and asked them what my copay with same insurance and they said single vision you have no copay and I did not have to upgrade the plastic to get transitional. Sounds like I was going to be taken advantage of by several hundred dollars. Hum makes me wonder how many times a day that happens. Bottom line I ordered the frames online and my insurance will send me a check and I am going back to Vision Works in which I trust...no copay for vision and transitional copay 65.00. She said the copay was 90.00. Beware and know your insurance plan. Oh to add a note when I called and emailed the girl to let her know that I was going to wait that they were way out of budget and to let me know she received the call or email she NEVER even called back... Such BAD business!!!! read more

I am so very grateful to the staff at Briargrove. My family was evacuated by boat and in the rush to get out, I forgot my contacts and only had a broken pair of glasses that were 10 years old. My previous eye doctor's office refused to give me a loaner pair, but the staff at Briargrove were so generous and willing to help, even though I'd never been there before.
