A/C did not work in first room, but staff switched us right after we called. Restaurant for dinner was very disappointing. Mussel appetizer was good. Chowder was terrible! More like watered down potato soup. And it was $13/bowl. Surf and turf appetizer was literally 1 bite of lobster and 2 bites of steak. Chicken soup was soup of the day...not very good. Service was mediocre at best. Had to keep asking for more water and when we asked for more bread, they said it was frozen. Hotel 3 stars. Restaurant 1 star.

Excellent staff, including front desk staff tolerant of my bad French and willing to let me try it out but perfectly conversant in English. We can't recommend the restaurant, which was pricey and not particularly interesting and a bit slow, but there's a cafe-bistro style place on the main level which had limited fare but at quite decent prices. Excellent breakfast in a side room on the main floor, included. All in all, well-recommended.

NBers like their big trucks and bikes and have no problem speeding noisily through the Main street late at night. Nice deck outside beside the house for drinks. The breakfast is from the Sagouine restaurant on the same property. Good choices for breakfast. We at supper there. Wanted a typical Acadian meal and opted for a Fricot au poulet. Turns out with the exception of dumplings that is Lorraine's regular homemade chicken soup. I like her more. Staying in Bouctouche, stay at the Gite of the Sagouine but opt for a room in the back.

The good sized rooms are very comfortable, clean and have great views. Our room the last stay was on the seventh floor over looking the bay and it was great for watching the Canada Day fireworks blasting from Victoria Park!! The reception desk staff really take care of you, they made great suggestions and booked reservations for us and steered us in the right direction for all our needs and desires. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent. I'm a simple kind of breakfast eater with the standard bacon or sausage and eggs and I have to say it was the best I tell you!! Eggs over easy perfect!! Fresh bread used for toast and came out warm with just the right amount of butter! The potato's were sooo tasty I hardly had any ketchup with them. But the show stoppers were the sausages, it's been a long time since Ive had such good tasting sausages that's why I had the exact same meal both mornings of our stay. Our server was great and super friendly also, made you feel right at home. There's and really nice pool area with a hot tube and saunas. The only thing that's not great is the saunas are in the changing rooms so my wife and I can't go in together. We're bonvoy members and have stayed at many Marriot hotels and this is definitely one of our favourites. Highly recommend!

Some of the rooms have been renovated, and they are really nicely done. I would recommend them. They are our first choice when making a reservation. The motel is run by Myles Clark and his father Doug who are very nice and very good innkeepers. It is located on Water Street, the main street of Summerside, about 30 minutes from the Confederation Bridge. When we get there, we hop on our bikes and go for a ride along the waterfront in Summerside. In the fall they served muffins, toast, juice, milk and coffee for breakfast. It is worth noting this motel is number one on Trip Advisor for all of PEI. The friendly and professional owners ensure that you are well taken care of throughout your stay. Someone arrives twice a day and keeps the fire going in the shed to heat the inn (there are pipes underground that go under the parking lot and into the inn). Apparently it is really cost-efficient. The tub was deep and comfy. The bed was comfy. WIFI, parking and a continental breakfast (cereal and bread) were included in the cost of the room. My room had a microwave and a mini fridge. I would stay here again if I needed to spend a night again in Bouctouche.

However, we were told that the Sweet Dreams room was still open. After looking at it and then another open room, Country Charm, we decided to stay in Country Charm since it had a bigger bed. The room itself actually consisted of two rooms, both with beds and then a bathroom en-suite. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice but overall the room was a bit chilly. There also was not a TV in any of the rooms and they did not have free wireless internet. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good. There was both cereal and oatmeal sitting out that you could take at your convenience and Laura our hostess was pouring us both coffee and orange juice. The first course of the meal was a fruit cup of sorts that had some blueberries and melon in it. It was decent but the main course was where this breakfast shined. We got a quiche of sorts that tasted wonderfully, especially with the salsa. The conversation with the many other guests at the breakfast table was pleasant as well. The bottom line for me is that I might or might not stay here if I come back in the future. Laura was incredibly nice, the breakfast was good and the cost was nice but I feel like we could have done better.
