I got a couples massage here recently and it was amazing! Very inviting, cozy, intentionally relaxing vibe right when you walk in. The robes they give you are out of this world, silky and comfy to wear while you wait for your masseuse. When you walk into the room you choose your oils you'd like and a few other options that really customize your massage to you. Brick Canvas Aveda is a lovely salon located on the second floor of the Brick Canvas building. It's a little oasis and they really do a good job making their customers feel special. Roxy did a phenomenal job washing and styling my hair. She started out with an invigorating neck and shoulder massage with a tangerine scent (I got to choose between neck/shoulder and hand massage. There was also a variety of scents I could choose from.) After that massage, she washed my hair. We were in a separate room with quiet music-it was lovely. I gave her full freedom to do whatever she wanted with my hair. Some people would have taken the "easy" route and left my natural curls. But she worked to dry my hair and then put in some great waves with a curling iron. I loved the end product! I don't usually book my next appointment at salons, but I made an exception this time because I was so thrilled with my experience. So I'll be back in about a month for a cut. See ya then! read more

The brick canvas facility is very beautiful. The paved walkway that leads up to the building with gardens on both sides sets the ambience before you even arrive. The Aveda hair salon is on the second floor of the facility. The salon is beautiful too. When you check in at the front desk they offer you water or tea. The tea is delicious. Before starting your salon treatment you will be offered either a scalp, neck, and shoulder massage or a hand massage, both with essential oil's. The massage lasts a couple minutes and helps loosen you up. If you're getting your hair washed they offer you a warm blanket during the wash. Also the hair wash basin is comfortable on your neck. The salon also sells makeup, but makeup artist services are not available. You get a discount if you schedule with a new stylist. The price difference between a new stylist and a master stylist is minimal and usually only about ten bucks so it's worth it to book a master. read more

This place is a whole experience, y'all. Even the walk from the parking lot to the building is a treat. There are bistro lights strung up here and there, pretty vines and trees all around and the beautiful brick building exterior hints at the semi-swanky vibe you'll be getting once you go inside. The salon is situated upstairs in a large room with tons of gorgeous natural light. There's a very calming atmosphere. My stylist sat down with me and asked a few questions regarding my hair type/texture and what I had in mind for my cut. I'm trying to transition out of styling my hair with heat and tools to embracing my natural waves, so she talked to me about different techniques she could employ for helping those waves to take shape. I appreciated that she was very informative and really took some time to understand what she was working with before going in with the scissors. Before heading over to the shampoo room, she gave me the option for either a hand or a shoulder/neck massage. (I chose the latter because I'm tryin'a get the most massage for my buck, ya feel me?). I got to pick an essential oil for it, too! If they had ice water or some kind of small drink/snacks available, I think that would mesh well with every other aspect of the experience and would take it to a solid five stars for me. But, considering a hair cut starts at $30, the Brick Canvas certainly exceeded my expectations! I'll for sure be back for my next cut! read more

I love this place! I'm very impartial to Aveda salons as I think they are amazing, but this only is truly top notch. I've seen Hillary twice now and I love her! She's a super fun stylist and is as professional as she is personal. The salon is beautiful and super duper clean. They sanitize everything right after you're done. Wow, Katie at BrickHouse is NOT cool! My appointment was at 10:00 am. I called on my way at 10:10 to make sure it was still ok to come in. Receptionist said yes, no problem you might just have to leave with wet hair. I said no problem. I walk in at 10:18 am and receptionist greets me with "I'm sorry but she no longer has time to do your appointment." I said, "is there any way she can just do a quick cut? My son's coming home from his mission tomorrow." No, I'm sorry, she can't. And then she told me they're going to charge me $20 for the missed appointment! (Which they promptly did, I just saw the charge come through) What's even more frustrating is that when I made the appointment online there is no way to select a cut and color at the same time so I just selected a men's grooming and then in the comment section said that I'd like to have a color weave along with a cut which, of course, would've blocked out more time. Apparently they don't look at the notes because they only blocked out enough time for a cut so then when I was a little late there was no room to adjust anything. Very frustrating. I would have hoped they would have tried to be more accommodating to a new customer. Not to encroach on the next customer's appointment just do the best they could in the 42 minutes we did have left in my appointment. Maybe the salon is already so busy they don't need/want new clients. Or maybe they just don't want more male clients since on average male clients don't spend as much per visit. I don't know. I was really excited to try this salon. I called and asked who the best person was for short bob haircuts, and the receptionist told me that Andrew, the manager, and one of the "master" stylists was the very best. I can say that my experience there was great! The customer service was amazing. It was relaxing and Andrew really made the overall experience pleasant. However... when I got home and the curls he put in my hair began to relax, I saw what was really going on in the back of my hair. There has been a lot of crying on my part. There are VERY short layers, in very random places. I am very disappointed with the haircut I received, and will have to go back to another salon for an even shorter cut to fix the mess I have going on with my hair. I did call and explain that I wanted a refund, and although I have not seen that come through my account yet, they were very happy to give me my money back. I will not be returning to this salon. read more
