Maybe a year or so ago I came in to a bartender who was also the waiter, food was horrible, waiter/bartender sucked. His girlfriend was there and he gave all his attention to her. Stopped in for a quick happy hour for some bar food and some easy beers. I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. Brick House is located in a strip mall next to a Chinese buffet restaurant. Brick House is a solid dive bar with some solid food and happy hour choices. To start, I got the boneless Buffalo tenders (mild) and fried pickles. The tenders are more like larger chicken nuggets and the fried pickles were seasoned perfectly. Both were delicious and were on the happy hour menu. For dinner, I had the Steakhouse Burger which was grilled to perfection and was topped with A1 steak house, sautéed onions and mushrooms, and Munster cheese. It was absolutely delicious and served with fries. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more food (and definitely more beers). read more

Meal included an odd tasting cheeseburger and below average apps. Very good service and bar however but not for food. After reading mostly positive reviews about this place I choose to eat here over many large chain eateries. So I'm writing this review to set the record straight... I don't recommend eating here. My cheeseburger tasted "odd." Like an expired frozen burger. I was worried I might get ill but was so hungry I ate it. My group ordered fish tacos, cheesesteak egg rolls and buffalo chicken for apps. Everything tasted like it was frozen. The tacos and egg rolls were very deep fried. Nothing tasted fresh and the apps were below average. On a positive note the place was clean and service was excellent. The bar looked great for grabbing a drink and watching the game. My friends and I visited Brick House yesterday night for karaoke, and it was an absolute blast. We arrived around 9 pm, and while there weren't many people, they eventually came later. The drinks were delicious: I ordered two green tea shots and a vodka cran, with the lovely bartender Scotty serving me. Then I asked for a suprise shot, to which he made a grape gatorade and a blue gatorade. Both were great. The vibes were wonderful, everyone seemed to be having fun. The bartenders are so friendly, the prices were fair and the karaoke DJ was a treat! There is also a pool table, which is a dollar per play. Fun little dive bar, and definitely not what I expected. I go here often because my pool league has to frequent there. The service is the absolute worst and if they don't want our business then don't agree to host a pool league. He then decided to aggressively push past me unwilling to just walk the same route on the opposite side of the wall. He proceeded to push harder and harder until he was able to knock my 5ft 2in ass stumbling out of the way. 1ST: FOR A MAN TO PUT HIS HANDS OR PHYSICALLY MANUEVER A WOMAN IS NOT OKAY. 2ND: IT IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT OKAY FOR THE WAIT STAFF TO PUT THEIR HANDS ON THE CUSTOMERS 3RD: HE PROCEEDED TO THREATEN ME IF I DID NOT MOVE. Best burger in Mays Landing! Brick house has booths and a large bar in the center with a few TVs so you can watch the game. The volume isn't up too high though so it's still really easy to talk. The staff are super nice and check in often to see if you need anything. My husband and I stopped in for lunch today and started with the pretzel app which is fresh and warm and gigantic. My husband got a corned beef Ruben and I got the super delicious burger. read more

Came in at an awkward hour when the place wasn't crowded with folks which made it a more private dining experience. Our waitress was extremely patient with us and would check up on us fairly often. It was literally taking me forever to make a decision on what to get because there was just many things my stomach was craving for. Not a ginormous menu but definitely one with a good variety of selections at friendly prices. After much great lengths of debate with myself on what to order, I finally decided on the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich which came with house fries all for $8.50. Not a bad deal especially when my plate was brought out and I saw how loaded both the burger was with pulled pork and the plate with fries. Cutting the burger into portions definitely made it easier to handle. Still on the messy side as to expected but probably much less than if you tried to hold up the whole darn thing. Enjoyed my BBQ Pulled Pork and would see myself ordering it again. Had a portion of my friend's Grilled Reuben Sandwich and my only major complaint was how overly soggy the bottom bread was with the weight of the meat pushing down on it. Otherwise, it was pretty good. Awesome place to just sit and chat, catch up with a small group of friends with a safe menu of selections without blowing your wallet. Went here based on a recommendation. I had the crab cake platter which was two cakes, fries, and cole slaw. The crab cake was ok, had plenty of crab, but had too much of a lemony taste which masked the crab. The fries were very good, nice and crispy. The cole slaw was good also. My wife had the Buffalo Chicken Salad. She asked for a different lettuce and got it, but they left off the other ingredients (tomatoes, cucumbers,etc.) which she specifically asked for. The chicken itself she said was cooked very well and was tasty. But, the buffalo sauce on the chicken wasn't spicy at all. She asked the waitress who said their sauce is very mild. Why is it called buffalo chicken if the sauce is mild? Nice, but not great, beer selection. Service was slow, although I can't blame the waitress since she was the only one serving a large table and multiple booths. My wife didn't get her second beer. Place itself was ok, but turned off by clientele; loud and offensive (cursing). Not what you want to hear during dinner. Booths and tables are too close to the bar. read more

Burgers were juicy & beefy- the key to a fine burger. The servers and kitchen are very accomodating so you can have your burger pretty much any way you want it. Careful though, it's a 1/2 lb burger so you better take in some fiber with it! WAFFLE FRIES = deliciously crispy. Service was fantastic. The initial smell at the door of cleaning product was a bit off putting. Ordered the special "regular burger" and it had a very odd taste. Not sure what was wrong with it, just had a bad taste. The fires were good and the crab cake sandwich was good. Our waiter asked how things were and when I told him it tasted weird he quickly took it away and said nothing. Meanwhile the "manager" spent almost our entire meal chit chatting and telling (dirty) jokes to the two ladies at the table next to us. He seemed kind of lost and was just wandering through the place. They gave me a $3 dollar discount on the burger and I only took two bites out of it. Don't think I'll be back. read more

Tipped $10 on a $14 dollar tab. On my bank statement another $.96 was added to the bill. Called to talk about the mix up and was laughed at. Was told his employees don't do that then was told I was "complaining" about $.96. He defended his employees saying it was busy ( it wasn't busy at 3:00pm). Ordered via Uber Eats. Crab sandwich had shells in it and was missing coleslaw. Was given the completely wrong salad. Special notes weren't complicated but not followed on one of two quesadillas. Missing a large order of fries and given a wrong dessert. Spent $90 for 3 of 8 correct and present items. Being fair, the crab sandwich was good despite the shells and the cannolis were pretty bomb. Ordered chicken tender which is not on the menu, and allow me to say they were an absolute disgrace. Judging by the chicken tender texture, they were most definitely unfrozen and refrozen before being fried in too much flour and served as if they were gods gift to America. I have only been here once, but definitely plan on returning. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. I could see going here when I have a ride home just to enjoy hanging out and having a few beers. The pretzel app is HUGE!!! Plan on sharing that for sure. Update: Been back more then just a few times and LOVE Brick House!! I am a vegetarian, so I have not tried the meat or fish. I have however had the big pretzel, the beyond meat burger, fried pickles, Mac&cheese bites, house salad and fried ravioli. I've been told the wings are Fing amazing!! I would highly recommend this place. The servers and bartenders are all friendly and really good. I feel very comfortable here and love the atmosphere, very relaxed. Was here for a late lunch/early dinner with the kids and it was empty when we arrived. A few more customers ended up tricking in. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. The Philly cheese steaks were pretty good. I had a pork sandwich with dipping au jus and horseradish mayo (can't remember the name) that was excellent. The flatbread pizza was a little lacking. Wanted to try somewhere new for lunch. The bartender gave us zero attention. There is no drink menu. I believe the cook/random man from the back came out to greet us and take our order. We didn't review the menus before we got there so we needed a moment to decide. In addition, if you seat at the bar to have a bite to eat, it's a nightmare. A floor waiter has to serve you and you are billed separately from your bar tab, what a pain in the A$$ !!! ODD: In 2014, a friend observed a Bartender tell a patron sitting at the bar and having a non-alcoholic beverage, to sit at a table or booth for service from a waiter whereby to allow drinkers "only" to use the bar. Very nice lunch spot in the middle of strip mall nothingness. When we came here the first time we were very pleasantly surprised! I've only been at lunch and dinner, but the bar seems lively on weekend nights. Great pub food and a very nice selection of beers. The place is small, so the tables are very close to the bar-- this means it can get a little noisy when it's busy or there's a good game on but usually it's just nice and cozy :).
