First time here and I was very happy about my experience all around! The bar is in the middle of a nice residential neighborhood which is cool. The interior is nicely decorated but still casual. Only one bartender working, but she handled the bar and multiple tables with groups that filled in after us fast and efficiently. Super nice and welcoming too. Meatball parm sandwich was up there with some of the best ones I've ever had. The seeded roll was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside...which held the meatballs and sauce together perfectly. The meatballs were well seasoned. Wife loved her chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Mozzarella sticks are a must here! Can't wait to to come back. I'll definitely be a regular for sure. Outdoor seating in the back when it's nice out and maybe catching some live music sounds super chill. read more

It nice not great but really nice. The staff is sweet and personable with the clientele like a good corner bar should be. Our waitress was great, carding my son 2 or 3 times ( he dose look young). They have light music playing and some TVs with the game on. There is a good selection of specialty cocktails and Michelob Ultra on tap!!!! I had the Chicken Cesar salad with a side of cheese fries and my wife and son got the French onion soup and camp fire burger. Cheese fries were on par and the Chicken in the Cesar salad was purdy good. The family thought the soup was very good. My son liked the burger but the wife thought it was supreme. Always wanted to check this spot out and we finally had the opportunity to. We went around Happy Hour time and they had a few specials. Drinks were discounted and $5 apps. The $5 apps were full size portions. We decided on the buffalo shrimp and an order of fried clams. Both came out hot and fresh. The shrimp were a good size and the clam strips were as well. Nothing was downscaled due to it being a happy hour menu item. We decided on a burger and a "Trooper" sandwich. Again both of these orders were not lacking on portion size. Had we known this we would've only ordered one app. The Trooper was not on the menu the bartender had suggested it after I had seen pics of it here on Yelp. This review is a update of all the past reviews on this place. It's old and just okay. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, I just ended up here with some family members because it was at a cross roads between our houses. I had soup and fries which was fine. The hostess is always really nice and we've been here about 4 times since moving to the area a year ago. Wait staff (L.) not so friendly and seems like she's just putting in her hours. Menu is a plain white printed piece of copy paper (not a good look) and the interior is seriously outdated. Still have fake poinsettias up everywhere in March, the carpet is sooo old as are the tables, paneling, etc. Really feels old and not-so-clean sitting there. Food nothing to complain about but the cost of a drink is higher than most places-I'll only order water next time. Would go here again in a pinch, but not the first place we think of. Truly spectacular service and drinks and very good food Our family of four stopped in recently for an early supper. Unlike pretty much every other review I've written I have to start with the service and drinks which were truly spectacular. Nick, the owner, chatted with us about what we might like and made some excellent suggestions. The two drink specials we ordered - a Blackberry Bourbon smash and a Cucumber Mint martini - were 'Made by an Manhattan master mixologist' perfection. The food was quite good but not quite up to the same standard. The buffalo wings were delicious - naked and hot would be my recommendation. And the pub nachos were very tasty with homemade tortilla chips, real cheese, and yummy toppings...but the beef wasn't that great. We also had a pair of sandwich specials. The 'Trooper', roast beef w/melted cheese on a brioche covered in homemade brown gravy was actually pretty amazing. Not the kind of thing I normally go for, but Nick strongly recommended it and he was right. Sadly, the pork 'french-dip' on a Kaiser roll wasn't as tasty - the pork was dry and somewhat bland and the sandwich depended on long 'dipping' for flavor. But the 'comes with' - broccoli rabe and long grilled peppers - were worth the price of admission. read more

I haven't been here in a while and was looking forward to it. Now that I hear the owners have changed I can understand why it's changed. I went with my husband and kids. The prices are high, food is mediocre. My kids had spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were burnt on the outside. I had chicken Parmesan and it was cooked to death. My husband had seafood combo and he said his was good. The prices are comparable to maple wood for sub par food. It is truly a dark and depressing atmosphere too. It needs an upgrade to the decor. So this place really went the extra mile tonight. It's Father's Day, I had called a couple days ago to make sure they were still doing their prime rib specials on Saturday Sunday and Monday which they are, and we intended on going to dinner Sunday night to celebrate Father's Day. We got there at about 6:50 p.m. were seated promptly. Waitress came over and said I'm sorry we're closed they shouldn't have seated you the last seatings we were taking we're at 5:30. At first I thought she was joking but clearly she was being honest. She went into the kitchen and came back a few minutes later and said absolutely no problem we still have plenty of everything and there's no problem serving you. First this is exceptional, It wasn't their fault because they only decided the day before that they would close at 5:30 because that was their last reservation time that they had accepted. Thus this was not conveyed to me when I called a couple of days before. But they were going to accommodate us and they still had prime rib, rare the way I like it. My wife had the veal parmesan I have course had the prime rib and everything was exceptional.This place out did themselves. Came here on a Sunday after church and had to wait till 1pm for them to open. Specials of lobster and shrimp ravioli or prime rib both seems very high at $27.95! I had a delicious campfire burger, served on a day old bun that was cracked in half on the bottom and just shredded on the top while I tried to eat it. It was a frozen burger patty with an old flavor, but toppings took over and the flavor rocked! Dinner prices seemed a bit high for such an old-fashioned little restaurant. (Spaghetti and meatballs for $16.95). If I were to go back for a burger, it would have to be covered with sauce to combat the "old frozen" burger taste. We go there for memories and French onion soup (which I did not have this time). The place is a bit overrated. Booths are small, a bit dark inside. The others in my party stated that their liver and onions was a little dry despite it being covered in gravy. Also, I wasn't a fan of our server. She wasn't friendly or all that attentive. We went here with a group of 4 for a late dinner. We we were greeted by the bartender who ended up being our waitress for the night. For drinks we had martinis, which were the perfect. For apps we had calamari, it was very heavy on the bread to calamari ratio. The shrimp scampi was delicious, the butter was not overpowering and the noodles were cooked very well. The sauce on the stuffed mushrooms was a little salty for the tables preference, but the actual crabmeat balls were slightly soggy but delicious. The chicken Caesar salad was absolutely massive, chicken was well cooked and well dressed. They were also able to accommodate for my veganism and made a veggie quesadilla. The best part of this excursion was the bar tender. She was extremely helpful, and took on our table which was across the way, so I applaud her. read more

My husband and I went to the Ye Olde Mill Street Pub last night for our anniversary. I got the Prime Rib special for Monday evening which was a big slice of "English Cut" prime rib, soup and salad, two sides, dessert and coffee all for only $20! I love prime rib and order it everywhere I go that has it and I must say that this is probably the best prime rib I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly and so delicious with hardly any fat on it. I had a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and the potatoes were real, not instant. The soup was creamy Tuscan sausage and was delicious. The salad was extremely fresh tasting with great homemade dressing. My husband had crab cakes which he said were delicious without a whole lot of filler. We had such a great meal with great service that we will definitely be going back again! read more

I took my family to dinner tonight. We eat out a LOT and this was by far the worst meal we have had in years. The one bright spot was that they had a solid beer selection on tap. The decor is terrible unless you're trapped in the 1970s. The food was awful. Everything we had tasted like it was frozen or came out of a jar. The ravioli that both of my kids got barely had any cheese at all in them and my wife's fried flounder was dry and tasted like it was fried in burned oil. I lived in Mays Landing for over 5 years and I have ordered their take-out on several occasions. They are a little above average as far as price is concerned, but they have typical steak, seafood, chicken, pasta, soups and salad platters. I always ordered the prime rib with the mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Their french onion soup or soup of the day is always very good.
