IMHO My personal…read morechoice for donations is The Salvation Army. There is another thrift store much closer to me, but I'll drive the extra miles to donate here. There are a few dedicated parking spaces for unloading close to the donation truck/table but occasionally I just park in the customer lot and walk my stuff over. I ask for a receipt for tax purposes. Inside the store, the retail floor space is huge filled with rows of neatly organized clothing racks, furniture, glassware, household items, shoes, etc. This makes for easy perusal of items and an enjoyable shopping experience.

Donations When I did my last drop-off about a week ago, the gentleman running the donation area rushed over to help me with my bags and then gave me a receipt that was already filled out with the date/signature. The entire process took about 30 seconds - easiest donation drop-off ever. Shopping I've found so much great stuff here in almost every department (clothes, furniture, home decor, etc.). It's also more reasonably priced than other thrift stores in the area, and more organized as well. Customer Service The donation drop-off guys are really friendly and efficient - they go out of their way to make it an easy process. The store employees are equally amazing. Every time I go up to the register with a big pile of stuff, I'm apologetic and flustered about how much ringing up they have to do - but they're ALWAYS super nice and helpful. They literally never have a bad attitude or get annoyed, even when I take a bit of time to pack up my items or change my mind last-minute. I also appreciate the fact that they go out of their way to help me organize my stuff so I can get to my car easily - I'm a small person with some big purchases haha, so I really appreciate that extra effort they put in to make my life easier. Truly 10/10 customer service all-around!

They direct you to where the items go and if requested will help with unloading your stuff. They do provide receipts if you want one. The parking area towards the donation side is a bit tight and can get busy over the weekend. I want to give a shout out to Isaac who was so pleasant and very helpful. He helped unload my car with so much energy and friendliness- makes you want to keep finding things to donate just because of how pleasant he made the process. In comparison, I dropped off my donated items this morning (Monday) and Chris was rather surly at first. He chided me for not parking in the lane - there was no one near me and I was there right when they opened. I re-parked my car to be sure I was between the lines! I asked for assistance and he finally did help after I made about 3 trips back and forth to my car. Night and day in the help service at Goodwill. Overall they do have nice staff and do make the donating process simple and fast.

Products: it's not Goodwill value, it's almost like paying Target prices on stuff, except these are old and discarded. The check out is understaffed making the wait time long! The carts are filthy, so mask up and use a hand sanitizer. I bought two Whiskey goblets for $4. If I paid for a full set at TJMaxx, I'd have paid $10 for new ones. I almost saw a metal rack - I compared it to the one I saw at Walmart - Walmart was cheaper! Not worth a second visit!

From my research I heard it would cost a premium , but they were considered to be reliable and have good service . Well, I was wrong. Ten minutes before the scheduled arrival time a guy calls me telling me that the team is finishing a very large removal project , and they won't be able to come by until "at least" 2.5 hours later, which would be at least 7:30pm . It would be dark by then and who wants to have people trying to remove large items in the dark?! Plus, I don't care if they're doing a large project ... that's on them and has nothing to do with me ... it doesn't garner sympathy or something by giving that explanation. I'm a customer too. I actually booked my flight just for this junk removal. Im in the business world, and I don't think this was good business imo. And when there is something like this as a red flag , I am not going to move forward . Also, if it's a big project that they're finishing ... they'd be tired by the time they get to me! But I think all things happen for a reason, and I'm for sure going to use one of the local junk removal places instead . I'm sure it will be cheaper too.
