Just running around today and came across this place. They had so many cute items, especially seasonal decor. You can tell that they are careful about what they decide to put out on the floor. The items were all in good condition and contemporary. Everything was priced to sell and I snagged some good deals on some pots for my plants. I was looking for a single teacup but they didn't have any on the floor. The staff were really friendly and they offered to check in the back for me. They even joined me in my hunt around the store. Absolute gem of a thrift shop! Well curated and the volunteers went out of their way to help me navigate the giant hula hoops I discovered. The prices are beyond great if you love vintage clothing and know fabrics. I may have found my favorite dress of all time here for a whopping $14 (because it's a two piece set of decorative vintage fabric) it was in the premium section and the volunteers were adorable making sure I knew why it was priced this way. (I couldn't afford a yard of this fabric retail I'm giddy about a vintage two piece set that I can customize). To then discover that the proceeds go to support women's scholarships was the ultimate bonus! My grand total for everything was $54 and I happily gave my change to the donation bucket by the register. If you are in the area and love unique vintage items this is a must explore. I had to resist the urge to buy several of the tea cup collections. I'm a sucker for vintage tea sets and they have several that are stunning! Been here a few times and loved the variety of items in store. They have a revolving color tag sale each week. Just be on the lookout at the front of the store for the sign that tells you how much of a percentage off a specific color tag is. During the spring time they have wedding dresses on sale. Some were just $50! I previously had hoped to get a dress here right before the pandemic, but unfortunately all stores closed up then so I never got the opportunity. The clothes are in good condition. I'd still recommend to check them thoroughly before purchasing. Great little thrift shop. Parking can be really tight though! There's just a tiny lot in front. Adorable thrift shop in Sunnyvale next to my favorite boba shop! Went there for the first time today as they have limited days/hours. But, prices and selection of items are great! They have an assortment of clothes, jewelry, home appliances, dishes, knick knacks, children's toys, holiday decor, and more! However, men's items are limited. They said inventory changes all the time and they also had a 50% of discount "blue tag" items. Upon entry they have a sanitizing station for you to sanitize your hands. They greeted me and assured me the baskets for shopping were sanitized as well. They also keep a count of the numbers of customers in the store. What I love is that they also are run by volunteers and proceeds from your purchase go to scholarships for women. Prices are great and you also feel good about your purchases. Huge plus!! I wanted to share my experience about a great thrift store I found in Sunnyvale. This place has a lot of cool stuff, especially clothes, shoes, and household items. I visited during the week when it was not too crowded, and I managed to find three shirts for under $20. The staff there was very helpful and nice. However, it's important to note that the area around the store can be a little sketchy, so it's best to lock your car and avoid leaving valuables in sight, as there are people under the influence in the vicinity. Lupita, the manager, is rude. She is quite vocal about not liking the reward card program the store has. A customer was combining 2 reward cards. The customer saw that Lupita was shorting her and pointed it out. After some conversation about it, Lupita said to the customer, to her face, that she was a pain in the ass. Yikes! read more

This place is so cute. You can definitely find some good kitchen ware things and antique things. Came here to shop for some cake stands and goblets and theh have a wide selection. They have silver spoons and tea sets that were nicely polished in the cases for a very affordable price. They have a small shelf of shoes and some hand bags. A wife selection of clothes, pants, and some scarves. It was nicely organized by sizing and by style. Then they have a section which has electronics. What caught my eye was a SLR camera that was only being sold for $50 with 2 different lense attachments. What a super great find and came with some extra film. The people who work there were nice enough to let me tinker with it for a while before deciding if I had wanted to buy. The people who work here are volunteers and they are the sweetest ladies there. And for good reason, as most of the clothes and shoes in these thrift stores are for women. Men don't donate clothes -they wear them until they have holes in them. Barely used mens clothes and shoes don't exist. So when I was looking for a used sandal, my wife went hunting for me, and here's what she got. My wife shops Nearly New all the time, and found a unisex looking flat slide sandal in womens size 10, one size too large for her, but thought it might fit me. It was a Orthoheel Porto 1 in dark brown color, with adjustable straps. I wore it around the house, and then all day to Campbell's Boogies on the Bayou. No problem, a bit large, but usable, and nobody noticed, or if they did notice, didn't care. $10 at Nearly New for a $40 sandal, when new, and I saw at least 2 women wearing them. A few weeks later, the wife alerted me that Nearly New had a sandal that fits me, but she wasn't sure if was too feminine, and wanted me to try it out. It was a Birkenstock Granada Soft Footbed, a typical Birkenstock flat slide sandal in medium brown color, womens size 9 with adjustable straps. $130 new, but only $15 at Nearly New. Looked good, and I wore it several days around the house, and then all day at the Sacramento Music Festival, with no second glances from anyone. No problem on the sidewalks, but the shoes were uncomfortable on the uneven cobblestones of Old Town. My wife had a contingency plan just in case the shoes didn't work out. Her sister tried them on, and by adjusting the straps from widest for me, to their narrowest for her, she was able to fit them on. All in the family! I never tried this with my first wife, who also had feet about the same size as me, but a little narrower. BTW the sister thought I looked fine in the Orthoheel Portos, and I saw an older guy in shorts, sitting next to his wife, wearing Birkenstock Madrids flat sandals in off white, which did look feminine -but at least he too shaved his legs and feet! My guess is that the sandals didn't fit the wife, but did fit the husband. What kind of review is this for a man to write, about buying women's sandals!? Unisex looking womens flat sandals size 9 are fine, I tell the wife, but leave the 4" stillettos alone! read more

Nearly new 25 years ago. This store has extremely friendly help but is very dated in their clothing and the items they sell. It's a well loved store and their prices are good, but many of the items are damaged and fairly well used. I would compare it to a garage sale with walls or a big charity bag sale like in Walnut Creek. Which, if that's what price wise works for you then this is your store. It wasn't my cup of tea as they claim larger M-L sizes and the styles are way out of my age league but the space is definitely well loved and well taken care of by the ladies who staff it. read more

This is a pretty good size thrift shop and nearly all the clothes are about $5 a piece. Unfortunately I would have to agree with others that the clothes are a bit outdated and not really suited for younger women. On the other hand, they have really neat items all over the store. The toys are all kept real clean and affordable ranging from 50 cents to $7 depending on size. I saw all sorts of pretty candle holders, tea cups, silverware, loose fabrics, crafting materials,etc. In the end, I walked out with a practically new belt for $3, a dress for $5 and two sewing patterns for 25 cents a piece. This is not your average thrift store!! All of the items are MUCH NICER and in better condition than a typical thrift store. The best-condition clothing you hope to find at a Goodwill is in worse shape than the worst item the Nearly New store would consider selling. The store is MUCH BETTER MAINTAINED and MUCH CLEANER than a typical thrift store - the store is deliberately arranged and organized frequently and by season (rather than a typical thrift store, where stuff gets thrown around a lot and may sit broken or in the wrong section). There are tons of halloween goodies there now (housewares, costumes, etc.) Proceeds from the shop go to scholarships and charitable works The store is run by volunteers - so there is much less overhead to cover apart from the charity (more of your money helps those in need). The women volunteering here do their jobs with love - it's like rummaging around a beloved aunt's attic for treasure! They have finer items here - designer clothes, vintage housewares, fine jewelry, etc. I bought a silk scarf and some gold jewelry for a total of less than $15 the last time i shopped here! There are FREQUENT SALES - at any given time, a certain color tag is 50% off. DISCOUNT CARDS FOR FREQUENT SHOPPERS!! Every $75 you spend, you get $5 off your next purchase. A THRIFT STORE ROOTED IN THE BEGINNING OF WOMEN'S RIGHT TO VOTE The 4,000 square foot Nearly New Shop, set back from the street, can be difficult to spot at first. But it's well worth the visit. The origins of this unique thrift store are rooted in the very beginnings of the U. S. Women's Suffrage movement. On January 21, 1869 seven young women formed a sorority, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, at co-educational Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, the second sorority to be founded in the United States. Social change swirled around them. Also in 1869, their college teacher, Arabella Mansfield (nee Babb), became the first female lawyer in the United States. One of P.E.O.'s founding members, Alice Virginia Coffin (1848-88), was related to a famous suffragette Lucretia (Coffin) Mott (1793-1880) who was an American Quaker, abolitionist, women's rights activist, and social reformer. Every P.E.O. Sisterhood founder was touched by the bloody Civil War that ended just four years earlier (1865). They knew of or may have had fathers, brothers, husbands and sons lost in the carnage and observed the devastating effect of losing a male breadwinner to war or disease. They resolved to help each other and other women. So, they established a woman's college in MO, loan funds and grants for women in financial need and/or women pursuing educational goals. They also built old age homes for members. Internationally, P.E.O.'s member base is 250,000 strong. Membership is by invitation only. They revised their website in 2008 to indicate that "P.E.O" stands for "philanthropic educational organization." Is that the original meaning? The members say that it is, but there is a twinkle in their eyes as they say that. In 1958, the P.E.O. Sisterhood established the Nearly New Shop primarily to fund a "health unit" in Northern CA as well as other P.E.O. philanthropic and educational endeavors. The shop, currently located on Maude Ave., is staffed by P.E.O. members and has a paid manager. Last year, part of the proceeds from the shop funded four $2000 scholarships for students in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. You'll find tasteful displays of women's handiwork (cut lace, embroidery, crocheted doilies, napkins, handkerchiefs and guest towels), a neatly stocked, large inventory of books, puzzles, videos, CD's ($3), all occasion cards (.25) and seasonal items to brighten up your celebrations. Children's items are conveniently grouped throughout the store. Display cases of vintage jewelry and fine glassware and china entice. Thank you, Nearly New, for cladding the upper walls in peg board, so that the larger art is mounted and easy to view. There are bins of craft and scrapbook supplies and kits. Here you can find those house wares and electronics that replace whatever your friends and relatives broke or "liberated" during their last visit. Clothing racks are easy to navigate. Clothing is sized and clearly marked. The prices are more reasonable than the Goodwill and Salvation Army thrift stores. My new favorite thrift shop for various reasons; The prices are out of this world, the proceeds go to women who cannot afford to go to college, and it is run by volunteers who are the sweetest women. I guess I'm a sucker for kind old ladies, because they were so helpful and were bursting with great energy. Today was my first visit here, and lucky me since it was one of their special sales, so everything was either 50% or 75% off. I walked out with 4 jackets, a pair of shoes, 2 books, and a cool vintage box that looks like a small treasure chest. All of this was only $38, I couldn't believe it. It is a thrift store with a heart. I can definitely see the efforts going into the meticulous labeling of each piece of clothing (brand and material identified on the tag). So the volunteers here have done a great job researching the item and organizing the space. The proceeds also go into a good cause. So PLEASE, give this place a shot and see for yourself. To me, however, it is not my scene. It is quite small (and can get crowded). The clothes, in my opinion, are overpriced. Many clothes and shoes are so hopelessly out of style that even the magic word "vintage" won't salvage them. There are also some contemporary brands like Gap, Halogen, mixed in that seem to be in good condition -- but that's NOT what I'm here for. The thrill of thrifting is to find unique gems at a great price. Unfortunately I didn't see any. What really turned me off was the fake Gucci bag with a $75 price tag in the window... I came here with a kind of tepid expectation and was not necessarily disappointed. Flora is 100% correct on the fact that the clothes seem to come from an older crowd (older than me, anyway). There was one pair of jeans that had promise, but ended up being not quite the right size. Alas! Some interesting stuff in the housewares section, but the only thing that I ended up walking out with was a purse for $3. Someone (the previous owner, I assume) had helpfully scotch-taped a note on the inside that read, "Fake!" Not sure if that meant fake leather or fake Alfani, but either way I don't really care. It was in nearly new condition and it was $3. As far as I'm concerned, I still came out on the winning end. They do take plastic, but when I went to pay, I asked if they had a credit card minimum and the ladies behind the counter seemed confused by the question... I just paid cash. read more

The short: Casual thrift store Decent selection of clothes. I actually found 8 pieces to try on. The ladies there are very friendly and reminds me of what small stores used to be like. Very casual and a great way to spend an afternoon. The lot is small but enough to fit the stream of customers that go in and out. I am a fan - what a nice find! The shop is clean, well laid out, full of great merchandise, and with extremely nice volunteers all for a great cause. I took my elderly father on an adventure to Nearly New, and both of us came away with some treasures and nice memories. Great little shop. Everyone that works there is beyond sweet. The deals are great, pricing for the most part is low and beyond fair. The put out new items constantly so you can go a few times a week and continually find great items. They have "Specials" like "1/2 off a certain color tag" - so it's fun to dig and get an extra special deal. The have Frequent Shopper cards -so you get a "stamp" every purchase-fill up your card and receive $5 off! It is a charity driven shop, so not only do you get great deals, but you know funds are going to 'good' rather than profit:) Stand alone building, easy parking. When I told my boyfriend I wanted to go here, he gave me a "seriously?" look. He knows this part of town pretty well, and wasn't too excited to venture over here. However, this shop is pretty awesome! A lot different than I expected based on the area/the storefront. Lots of merchandise to look through even though it seems pretty small.
