Have had great service from staff. Very friendly folks. While they have a sign by where you order that consistently has said / forewarned that food will take 15 minutes, we've always received it in about 5 minutes. Glad to see gluten free bread offered for sandwiches. And it's good GF bread. The coffee is great as well, but I just drink good ol' Joe. Good ambiance and a decent amount of seating. Been there a few times this winter & only downside is it's been a little cold anywhere I sat. read more

Great selection of coffee drinks, smoothies, bakery, and sandwiches. It gets very busy for lunch, so get there early when possible. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mushroom Panini and a Caprese Panini. Both sandwiches were on sour dough bread and were toasted nicely. The mushroom panini was especially tasty and satisfying. Stopped by for a quick lunch while I was on the road for work. Definitely the spot to eat lunch at in Jefferson - they were packed. Hard to find a table to eat and I noticed multiple groups had to leave before ordering since there weren't spots to sit. Many patrons were working during their lunch and taking up large tables - no fault to the business, but a bit of a bummer for those groups! I did the pick 2 with a turkey sandwich and fall salad and both were delicious. Loved the carrot option on the side with the hummus. I originally wanted pasta but didn't realize that was an up charge - that was not made clear when ordering. If I'm in the area and need a place to eat, I would stop by again. I would also recommend having menus people could look at. The menus on the wall aren't the most accessible, especially when it's busy. Having something to read while ordering would have been helpful. read more

Came into town for business and was looking for a traditional breakfast place when I decided to stop in here. Easy listening music with a nice atmosphere. Was greeted with a welcome and asmile. Since this was my first time here had a few questions that were pleasantly answered by the staff. Got the breakfast sandwich where you choose the meat, bread, and veggies. Chose the Ham and bacon on ciabatta bread with all the veggies except the mushrooms. Came out of the kitchen hot. Very flavorful sandwich, was so good I had to order another one. The sandwiches we ordered were quite good, but don't come here if you have a schedule to keep. It took almost half an hour to make 1 smoothie and 4 sandwiches. They seem to specialize in panninis, but you'd swear up and down they only have one grill and one employee with the amount of time it took to get our order and go. We stopped in during a break for Ragnar Relay and wanted something quick. Two of the people on our team had already been there about 10 minutes before us, had ordered, and were still waiting on their smoothie and sandwiches. I ordered 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with pesto sauce and feta. I didn't even get to eat it until nearly two hours later because we had to grab it and run, literally. It was still quite tasty later that afternoon, but I'd have liked to have had time to enjoy it while it was fresh. While waiting for them to prepare it, other people in the van kept checking on us and asking how much longer it would be. We stood around, looked in back and paced the cafe. It felt like an eternity and would have maybe been understandable if a single person with a single sandwich press were working there, but 2 people were working the front and 2 more people came out of the back. I'm kind of in love with this place. I'm kicking myself a bit for not having been to Brickhaus until now - almost a year of living in Jefferson. This place is exactly the type of place I've been missing. For starters - it's adorable. I also love the option of outdoor dining! Food wise - I really enjoyed the 1/2 and 1/2 option. I opted for a Reuben and a Greek salad. My only minor complaint was the excessive amount of dressing on the salad. The carrot and hummus side was a pleasant surprise. Yum! My husband enjoyed the caprese panini and Caesar! The kids loved the grilled cheese - so did I! I find them to be well priced and delicious. I'm new to Jefferson, I've been so bummed there's no Starbucks. Today I was absolutely freezing and needed coffee. Google brought me here. I honestly didn't get my hopes up. I had a vanilla latte, and I won't miss Starbucks ever again. It was just as good! My daughter got a chicken quesadilla and it was good! A menu in hand rather than posted on a wall would eliminate congestion, while patrons decide on fare. I selected the Cobb salad (more of a chef salad) and one of a limited selection of dressings (no Roquefort dressing or blue cheese dressing), no avocado and only a sprinkling of bacon, Red bib lettuce rather than Romaine... not a Cobb. Helen had the Ultimate grilled cheese sandwich and pasta salad on the side. She said that while the sandwich features four cheeses, it was short on flavor, the pasta salad was very good, and while the Cobb salad was not traditional, it was still a good value. read more

I chose Brickhaus Cafe as a nice midway point between Madison and Milwaukee to meet an old friend. It was worth the drive! I enjoyed a fantastic caprese panini with a side of pasta salad (when's the last time you were offered THAT as a side?) Both were flawless! I could tell the chefs use high-quality ingredients (the mozzarella was amazing) and put care into the dishes. The pasta salad was easily one of the best I've ever had. The casual setting makes for a nice place to catch up with an old friend. Not too snobby but not too loud, either. You might have a hard time finding a table if it's a rush period. I ordered a smoothie for my drive back. It was great! All this and the prices are very reasonable. You just can't go wrong. read more

Brickhaus rocks!! I have gotten lunch there twice, once take-out, and another time dine-in. Their iced tea is fab: always freshly brewed, even in the dead of winter. I've gotten their "take two combo," in which you can choose among half a sandwich, salad, or cup of soup, plus you get a choice of hummus and carrots or homemade potato chips. AND IT'S UNDER $9. I can eat, and this is a ton of food. And it's good. Their Greek salad is loaded up with feta, olives, and fresh veggies. I've gotten the Red Hot panini sammie both times, with turkey, bacon, pepper jack, jalapeño, spinach, and a spiced mayo of some kind...plus chips!! Plus an iced tea. They can get busy at lunch, but if you call ahead, they are super nice about taking an order to go...and then you could always decide to eat there. The café space is really pleasant, with some booths, big windows, clean...and they have a garden that's open in warmer weather. read more
