Yes this is an old fashioned diner. The food is great diner food at a great price. The service is friendly efficient and quick. It is in cute Lake Mills, such a quaint Main Street. We ordered the chicken bacon wrap and cinnamon French toast combo. Great portion size and tasty food. The French toast was good, cinnamon bread is thinly sliced and eggy. First off to the reviews saying the place was old. Get over it or go to somewhere that meets your hipster standards. When something is done right there is no need to change it. The majority of the people that come here love the way it is and will continue to pack this place for its great food and outstanding hardworking staff. The food is great came here hungry and left full. I have order the 2 and 4 cinnamon French toast breakfast and do not think I can stray away from this it's just too good. The wife ordered the corn beef hash and she got exactly what she was looking for! Good ole fashion filling breakfast that is cheap! Cute little cafe in downtown Lake Mills. My boyfriend and I stopped here for breakfast on our way to Wisconsin Dells. The cafe is on the main road and street parking is available right out front. We entered the cafe and were directed to sit wherever we would like. The server arrived shortly after we sat down and took over drink order. She returned with our drinks and let use peruse the menu. The breakfast menu was 2 pages of delicious sounding items, they also had about 5 daily specials to choose from. My boyfriend ordered the lumberjack skillet special and I went with a cheese and broccoli skillet. The food arrived quickly and looked great. It's fine enough, but I think everything from the decor to the menu to the food could use a nice update. Got some kind of sandwich with ham and cheese on french toast. Sounds great, but was sort of bland overall. Came with fries and a cup of soup. Would have been nice to have a salad as an option instead, but whatever. Soup tasted like it had been congealing in a pot in the back for awhile. Fries were probably the best part - hot and crunchy. Prices were fine overall, and service was pleasant. Passing through lake mills on my way to La Cross I stopped here for breakfast. This is in the heart of downtown small town America across from a park which made for a nice setting. The place is very old school and a throw back in time with a lunch counter, cafeteria tables/chairs and some booths. This is one of those places where all the art on the wall has a price tag on it. The menu has just enough breakfast to please most people and I opted for the 2 piece lumberjack breakfast which is two eggs, two sausage links, two strips of bacon, American frys and sourdough toast instead of the French toast, sunny side up eggs doesn't work with French toast because it doesn't absorb the runny yoke. The eggs were perfect. The bacon was tasty and crispy. The Ham was hand trimmed and off the bone. The sausage links were juicy. The toast was perfect with the American frys needing to be a little crisper. The coffee was the average diner swill which I didn't get refills and went elsewhere for a better cup. Overall this was a solid small town breakfast place that I would stop at again with no service issues to mention. read more

Place was great but closing at 2 pm is ridiculous for a small town restaurant. really only one other sit down good food place downtown and they are stealing all your business. Used to have a nice fish fry on Friday nights but gone. Guess the SLIDER burgers out front edged them out of operation after 2 pm. What a shame. read more

I hate to give bad reviews, but I was not impressed and would likely not return. The food was greasy and the decor was dated and dirty. I met up with a colleague to work on a presentation. We chose lake mills as it is roughly half way between Madison and Milwaukee and this an easy spot to avoid one person having to do all of the driving. When we arrived and noticed our usually coffee shop/work spot was closed, we decided to give Ann on the Park a shot. We found a booth which offered plentiful space, and the cafe has free WiFi which was a plus. The menu overall seemed like typical diner food. I do wish there were some healthier menu items. The servers appeared well liked by the locals and friendly... just overall not my cup of tea. read more

Anne's Cafe on the Park in Lake Mills, Wisconsin is a cute little diner style restaurant across from a beautiful city park where they hold an amazing Farmers Market on Wednesday evenings in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. From the outside you might think it's very small inside but surprise!!!- it's got lots of room; tables and a classic diner-style counter. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly woman who told us to sit wherever we'd like. She quickly brought fresh coffee and ice water which I love not having to ask for even though I understand the reasons for NOT bringing water that may be wasted. We ordered breakfast; the Farmer's Skillet and the Two Piece Lumberjack (2 eggs any style, 2 bacon, American fried potatoes, 2 sausage links, 2 cinnamon French toast with whipped butter and syrup and a slice of delicious ham) [see my photos] it was all delicious and filled us up perfectly. Our coffee cups never went under half full and our server was stellar! The great food, coffee, and the uber friendly, attentive service all for under $20. This place is heaven wrapped up in a small place, though I am not sure what heaven really looks like but for the purposes of this review - let's visualize this place as the real deal. Their menu is quite basic with the normal breakfast and dinner choices, however, the way it is prepared is beyond me. I can't begin to express the home town cooking that goes into play here, it's fantastic and do highly recommend visiting this place for breakfast. The staff members are very kind and attentive to their guests, it's definitely one thing I am a stickler for. At Anne's Cafe on the Park, you will be welcomed with a smile and compassion. The environment is classic and the remodel they just gives it more character. The price for each meal is awesome and for the amount of food you get can't be beat. And my wife's pancake was a bit underwhelming... Crumbly, almost like it was from a mix. Other than that, we had a fantastic experience. If you have never been to Lake Mills, make time to do so soon. Before we even entered the building, one of the waitresses held the door open for us. She greeted us with a big smile and a hello. Once inside, we were told to sit where we were comfortable. My boyfriend and i immediately found a booth that was clean, even though the table wobbled a little bit. The cafe has a very cosy feeling to it. Plenty of seating options: booths, tables and even at the diner. The staff is friendly, and checked up on us plenty. The food came out hot and fast, probably 10 minutes after we ordered. My Bagel Delight was amazing! Cooked to perfection and barely lasted 8 or so minutes on my plate. Please try their cinnamon French toast as well, reminded me of my mother's cooking. The coffee is your standard diner coffee, nothing too special, but there's plenty of it. Delightful expirience over all and I will be visiting again the next time I'm in town. read more

Went here alone while me friend was at work for some breakfast after a late night. The place is small and I imagine it gets busy on Sunday mornings. There is a bunch of tables around the perimeter and a bar with stools at the back. I was greeted as I entered and was told to sit "wherever was most comfortable." The waitresses were extremely friendly even highlighting places to see in Lake Mills for the couple next to me that was celebrating their anniversary. My order was taken quickly and I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup from that point on. And I drink coffee. I ordered a skillet off the breakfast menu it was around $7.75 (one of the highest priced menu items) It came in 3 minutes. I kid you not. My eggs were cooked perfectly to order and the food was great overall. read more

Best breakfast in town. We now have a new tradition. Corned beef hash was cook to order. We'll done! It was perfect. Very good coffee. Last but not least, the oat meal rocks.
