I ordered a piece of carrot cake for dessert that was absolutely dried out / tasteless and greasy frosting - just the worst cake I've ever experienced- I did have them take that off my bill . We are glad we finally did. 1762 was formerly known as The Warwick Hotel, and that's the prominent markings you'll see from the street. It is a really excellent spot on the square in Hummelstown with cozy charm and exceptional service. My companion was initially skeptical when she saw wine on tap but immediately changed her mind when she saw the offerings--good quality and reasonable price point. The beer selection is also good. Not a huge number of beers but well-selected. Although we didn't have a full meal we did enjoy the sausage and honey appetizer, which was outrageously tasty with sausage from a local butcher in Hershey. Service was efficient and friendly, especially considering the bar (where we sat) was hopping. We also met the owner, Dave, who rolled up his sleeves to assist at the bar while also personally greeting customers. Our biggest regret is that we waited so long to finally visit...and we'll definitely be back soon.

The parking lot is long and runs parallel to the street, and the entrance has a staircase up to the door that could be challenging for some people. I assume they have an alternative entry option, but it is something to be aware of. Service is consistently professional and well paced, and it is personable without feeling overly casual. Overall, highly recommended.
