Waited a half hour for potato skins that tasted days old and drowned in nacho cheese sauce, I've had better frozen potato skins from the grocery store. Then the steak and cheese finally came out, the steak was way over cooked to the point it was jerky and dry, of course it was covered in nacho cheese sauce. I've had better from the gas station. I found the cheesesteak a disappointment to the whole state of Pennsylvania. Let alone the poor customer service from the waitresses. The poor lighting was great for the dark tables that were sticky. this is absolutely horrific. I went with my husband ( I'm a gay man), and our treatment there was very bad. our waitress keep saying stuff under her breath and giving us ugly looks. I believe she usher under her breath something about "homo's". when our food arrive, it looked like someone had spat into it. it looked like it was cooked in a toillet. we both ordered chicken quesadillas, besides it looking like someone spat on it, it fell completely apart. no on to the restrooms. there was piss on the floor and the toilets, ( always check before you sit down) no toilet paper, and there was no soap in the soap dispenser. over all it was a terrible experience and the workers there are extremely homophobic and disrespectful!! read more

Tried a bite and took me back to days of Ohio youth and eating a Roman Burger from Mr. Hero's. So you will NOT leave hungry. I just gained 10 lbs and it was worth it! Great for breakfast! Best in the county! We have tried almost all of the breakfast items on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet. My favorite is the ham and cheese omelet but the make killer strawberry belgian waffles too. The rest of the menu is ok- we've gone here for all of my life and I think I've only had 2 or 3 not so great meals. The wait staff is pretty good- just like any place, it depends on the night but there are some fantastic waitresses working here. It gets full sometimes, but worth the wait; especially for breakfast. I was born in PA so we used to visit the area quite often as I was growing up. Buddy's was always one of the go-to places for us for breakfast and for dinner. As I am visiting the area again, I decided to swing by for some nostalgia and dinner. I was so very disappointed. Way too many flies over the salad bar, cold filling, super salty broasted chicken, and watery candied yams does not make for a good meal. So, in fairness and really wanting to still love this place, I decided to try again for breakfast. Well, it wasn't such a great idea. Hard to mess up breakfast but they managed to do it. Barely warm sausage, burnt potatoes that had obviously been reheated, and mediocre coffee. The one thing they did get right was over medium eggs...so many places don't get that request. It was the nachos. They smelled like rotting flesh. I almost threw up. I took it to the counter and make the servers smell it. They said "oh, is that where the smell is coming from?" Call me crazy, maybe it was the fact that our off-road motorcycle adventure took us to some remote places of Schuylkill County, combined with the fact none of us had eaten in the last six and a half hours- but Buddy's broasted chicken was the best meal of my entire life. It was a cool summer evening and we departed Lancaster County on our vintage enduro motorcycles in a quest to find the Chinese Wall near tower city. After driving up through the state game lands and taking our adventure off road we found ourselves somewhat lost in the woods. We rode on trails large and small, tackled hill climbs and mud bogs, we lost our group, and then found them again. Tim managed to lose his wallet in the thick, and then found it again after we razzed him about having to buy us beer. After a he found it, he tried to play it off as if he never lost it in the first place. Jerk. Anyway he never did buy us beer. So, Tim, if you are reading this: Pay up! Anyway, after losing our way for the hundredth time in the woods we somehow ended up at Buddy's. It was a huge relief because I swear we heard banjos just before breaking free of the forest's clutches. We were greeted by a friendly lady at the door who opened the doors of heaven for us. Our chicken was served and I swear to God, a beam of light shine down on us, and the Angels in heaven sang above as I took my first satisfying bite. My son's black cherry milkshake was great but the other flavors (chocolate and blue raspberry) were lacking in flavor. Also, they said they have *any* flavor milkshakes, but they didn't have blueberry, cherry, or coconut. 3 of us had the roast beef sandwich which left a little to be desired. My son had a cheeseburger which wasn't anything special. My daughter did really enjoy her chicken cheesesteak. Homemade pies were a disappointment too. We ordered the Friday Specials: Mock lobster with macaroni and cheese with stewed tomatoes ..... and roast beef sandwich with French fries and gravy. Comfort food at its best. I'm giving this restaurant a 2 star review simply because they were capable of accommodating our 27 person family on a reservation basis. We tried calling many other restaurants in the area and none were quick to say, "we can make it happen" like Buddy's was. When we arrived we realized why they could accommodate us... there was NO ONE else there! We had free reign to the place. Which some would say is great but honestly we should have seen it as a red flag immediately. Most of the party went with the ribs and wings special that night and others went with menu items and salad bar. The salad bar was lacking and the ribs were mostly bone with bbq sauce. The wings weren't great but they were ok and saved the meal for some of us. While at the restaurant one of the kids in our party spilled a soda, which we know is inconvenient; but the lady who cleaned it up did a terrible job and looked at us and said "Do you want me to get the ice off the floor too?" I jokingly said, "no that's ok it'll just make a second puddle" and she said "ok" and walked away. Our cups remained empty for our visit, which I could understand if they were swamped but it was only our party there. There's no question as to why even the locals don't know this place exists. We had the worst possible service at this restaurant. As a child I used to come here on a regular basis. We were visiting the area and thought let's get breakfast at Buddy's as I used to have such fond memories. When we first arrived we weren't shown a table and just told to get the one in the back. I asked for a high chair and no one brought one over, we had to wait and then look for them. After twenty minutes of waiting, our waitress finally came to take our order and that was the last time we saw her for about an hour. Our food took exactly one hour to come out, which was incredibly ridiculous as the place was half empty. When I asked the woman who brought our food over why it took so long she said "uhm" and walked away. We were only once checked in on through our two hour long visit. Our waitress and the other team members were clearly avoiding our table and only checking on the ones around us. As I went up to pay I asked again why our food took so long, the woman stated that they were prioritizing their pick up orders. I really hope the owners read this and get their teams act together, we were not given any sort of compensation or kindness. The servers were rude and the place filthy.
