This spot was just ok for me. It's a cute place to swing by for a quick weekend drink or to catch up with friends, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back. We went at a weird time, around 3 PM so not rush hour and the service was super slow. There was only one other group there at the time, but we waited about an hour and a half and barely saw our server. They had fun Moscow mule flights that my friend and I were excited to try, but we never got a chance to order them since no one came back to our table until the very end, which was kind of a bummer. The food was decent, nothing amazing. Overall, it feels like a chill neighborhood hangout for when you don't have anywhere to be. But if you're looking for something a little more efficient, this probably isn't your spot. read more

Food and service are almost always 5 stars here! Everyone is friendly and the menu has tons of options for lunch and dinner, including healthier choices you don't usually find at bar-and-grills. My go-to is the strawberry Gouda turkey sandwich, and their weekend biscuits and gravy are a favorite of ours too read more

Ate lunch here today with hubby and son and his girlfriend. Terrible experience. This place has changed and not for the better. Signature BLT was a badly burnt lettuce and tomato sandwich and they left the avocado on after it was ordered without it. Burger was undercooked and did not come with bacon that was added when order was placed. The onion rings cost us extra to not be fully cooked but def super greasy and bland to boot. Yuk. New(er) Enamelware plates are fine but maybe get the upholstery in the booths fixed before you buy new serveware?? The food has def gone downhill and the service was terrible too! Was in town visiting some friends. Friend said the food is good but service is hit or miss. So we called in a take out order. Only 15 min wait, and it was ready when we got there. We waited up by the host stand to be informed to go to the bar. Bartender wasn't wearing a mask, but the only waitress I saw was. Looked like lots of people waiting for food. I'm glad we got it to go cause the place was packed, no open seating, and not very spaced out. The food review was good. We each got sandwiches. I got the tenderloin. Pretty darn good. Not smashed down into a pancake and all the right toppings. Hubby got the Brickyard burger, which was a double burger, with pork and onion rings and an egg on top. My friend got the Philly po boy and really liked it. We all got a ton of fries. They are not skimpy on the fries. We all enjoyed our meals and stuffed ourselves. read more

Great spot for a burger or brew. It is nestled in Adel Iowa but totally worth the trip out there. The owners are great people and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly too. The food is delicious and there is quite a variety to choose from too. If you are out in Adel you should surely give this place a try but if you are close and want to try a new place you should make the trip as it won't disappoint plus they are on the bike trail for you bikers out there... Do you want to spend $17 for a hamburger? If so, Brickyard is an option. We were disappointed as drinks were average and service slow. We have witnessed a decline in quality as they moved from one location to the current. I do not recommend. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight after driving by so many times. Fun atmosphere inside with adorable outdoor seating. We had burgers and fries and they were tasty and fresh. Blackberry mule was delicious and my husband tried a new beer (served with cherries) that he said was amazing. Fun place for adult time, but also appropriate for the family. read more

We were staying just up the road at the KOA for an overnight stay. We just needed quick early dinner. The place does not look like much from the outside but is done very nicely on the inside. The bartender, cook, and other waitresses were all very professional and nice. The food (burgers) is good fare for the price. We went for lunch at noon on a Friday. We'd been hearing about the burgers and thought we'd give it a try. We seated ourselves. There was one booth and a few people at the bar. Otherwise it was empty. We were a party of four. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. My husband and I go with water. His sister and her husband got ice tea. When she brought the drinks back, she wasn't sure which was which, but chose right. We placed our orders. I got the blue cheese burger. The bun was great, soft, just the right size and steamed. The burger was large and cooked a nice medium well. I like mine a tad pinker, but as long as it's not over cooked, I'm happy. The blue cheese and sauce were good. I'd like it if the cheese were a little more melted. Overall it was tasty and the fries were fresh and hot. My husband order chicken tenders off the appetizer menu. It came with fries, which was a surprise. They were hot and juicy. Good flavor and a crisp coating. My sister in law had the chicken Caesar wrap. It was fresh, crisp lettuce and large enough that she took half of it home. My brother in law ordered the tenderloin. It was a thick cut rather than flat. It was a solid tenderloin. Not outstanding but satisfying. Our server got us our food quickly, but didn't check back in until it was time for the bill. Not a big deal because it was all good, but it's always good to be sure. She was very friendly and in a good mood. Overall we enjoyed the meal. It's a small menu with decent choices. Both couples ate for about $20 each plus tip. Great 'hole in wall" bar burgers! Pretty consistent on the food quality and that's nice for the area.

It's about expectation this is a wonderful tavern type place in the small town of Adel Iowa, located right off a bicycle trail, that has some great craft beers one time when I was there they had Odell 90 shilling on tap a Scottish type ale from Colorado. Most recently they had Alaskan Amber The name of this beer style comes from the German word "alt" meaning "old". This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly . It's a very tasty beer my point is that someone is spending some time and effort trying to find some wonderful craft beers that they rotate in and out. you can find the other typical bar beers there as well as well as typical bar cocktails. They also have a great selection of mules. It's right next to the Raccoon valley bike trail. They are very bike-friendly people. I would also say they're very motorcycle friendly people I saw a couple pictures of motorcycle clubs that have stopped by for food. I got the burger and in the past I've had the grilled tenderloin both are outstanding and I've had the sweet potato fries once and the regular fries once and I think it's great food for the price. I can imagine if I lived in the area in a small town like this that it might be a wonderful place to hang out. In the back they've also had live music and I've listened to bands perform off the bike trail in the summer. They've had some football games on and I believe they're pretty much a Hawkeye bar they had Chuck Long do a book signing not too long ago. If you're on the trail and looking for a great place to even stop by the trail and come back to I think it's great and it's a nice ride as well. read more

Man! Talk about a change in a restaurant. This place had been amazingly awesome. My wife and ate there once a week. Knew the staff and Frank the long bearded guy behind the bar. Great food great atmosphere. Packed every night. What a place. Since September this place has taken a turn for the worse. Never full anymore. Complete turn over of staff. No Frank the friendly guy. Food is mediocre. Service is poor at best. Orders wrong the past four times. I don't know what happened but this is not good. Too bad was a great place. Hope things change back. read more

Food is decent enough but the service is horrible. I feel bad saying that because they are just young people but is there nobody overseeing this place? Wait staff should know how to multi-task and that is definitely lacking. I had to look for our own menus and we then waited an hour for food to come out. It gives the after church wait at IHOP a whole new perspective. I held my breath asking for a refill or packet of sugar. To top it all off, today I was served a cup of syrup that had a lid on it. I went to open it up to drizzle onto my pancake and there was a dead fly floating in it. I ordered the avocado toast and all the ingredients came out for me to put together. We met family here for a long overdue breakfast with high hopes since they are associated with Mullets. Everything was lukewarm to flat out cold. Hash browns were ice cold. My MIL ordered the rarebit breakfast sandwich. Big thing, covered in cheese sauce. Come to find out later, when she cut into it, the underside of the egg was burned black. She just wanted to enjoy visiting with her family for breakfast, so she said nothing. I ordered the make your own breakfast burrito. It wasn't bad, other than luke warm and add avocado is $3. Yikes. The waitress was young and didn't realize that people need silverware to eat with.. when we asked for it, she went to wherever they make silverware to get some and by the time she got back, everything was colder. read more

My husband and I went into brickyard for dinner, it was rather busy when we were there. Not only was the food amazing, but our bartender Heather was out of this world!! If she's not running the place she sure should be. I've never had better service and for that we will be back regularly, and I have already recommended this establishment to many people I know. Really nice bar and restaurant. Slow day with employees standing around should be cleaning the front porch or dirty bathrooms. Almost didn't go in to eat because the porch was so dirty with cigarettes and cob webs. Hope the kitchen is clean. Anyway the food was good and the service too. read more

Been here 4 times now. First time, burgers were great, wings were way too sweet. 2nd time, burger was still good, I tried the tenderloin and it was a mistake. Very thin, all I could taste was breading, and it was difficult to eat. Went back the third time because my husband liked the burgers so much. Nachos were slathered in the fake cheese sauce with huge chunks of onions. Needed real cheese and some lettuce and sour cream to save them. The burgers were really weird this time. The "meat" was a grainy texture that disintegrated in the mouth. It was the oddest burger I've ever had. Not like the one we had the first visit. We had a great meal tonight here. We were a party of 6 and everyone loved their burgers. We started with a drink indoors and had our meals out on the patio and had no issues with flies at all. We did have to wait a while for our food but we didn't mind since we weren't in any hurry. After we moved out to the patio we weren't checked on after our our initial set of drinks and had to go inside to order more. They were busy inside so that could be why. We also didn't get many fries with our meals but our burgers were great! We will be back! read more
