About a year ago I was in the middle of a road trip. About 900 miles away from home my alternator went out. Brickyard had the one I needed. The price was reasonable; I arrived 2 hours later to pick it up. It was ready when I arrived. The price I was quoted over the phone was the price I was charged. One year later it is still going strong and doing its job. Brickyard saved the day and saved the trip. I did experience impatience from the staff. But dealing with the public will take its toll sometimes, I have to do it, so I get their position. At the end of the day, I am grateful for my Brickyard experience. read more

I've been here multiple times, and I can confirm that all the other one-star reviews are absolutely accurate. It genuinely feels like they don't want to sell you anything, and when they finally do, the prices are almost the same as buying brand-new parts somewhere else. Even if you go out of your way to be polite, they treat you with the same attitude every time. It's clear that nothing you say or do will change how this place operates. Called and asked for a high pressure fuel pump for a BMW. Website showed 13 in stock. Called. Steve rudely says that all of these are on complete motors and aren't for sale. So why are they priced individually? Even received a quote. Every time I deal with this guy it's always the same. I can't imagine the business he's turned away. Guess you don't think about that when you're not the owner and it's not your money your losing. read more

This business doesn't actually want to sell you anything. I had a similar experience to what others are saying. The front desk guy was a pathetic sad gentleman. He was condescending and aggressive to anyone that would try and ask a question. I watched him talk down to another customer as if the customer didn't speak English. When it was my turn, the front desk guy proceed to press me with questions and would cut me off anytime I tried to answer. He then told me that I must prove that I owned the vehicle, before I'm able to purchase any parts for it. When I said no, he became irate and tripled the prices of the few components I wanted. This is the VW Graveyard of the Midwest. I'm pretty sure that every VW that has ever collided with anything has been laid to rest right here in Brooklyn, Indiana. The great thing about that is that if your still viable VW is in need of a transplant of almost any kind, you can find a suitable donor at the Brickyard. The staff was sharp and polite and patient enough not to laugh at the broad who insisted that she needed parts from a car with a trunk with a fin on it because her car "came with a fin thingy". I'm sitting here waiting for them to pull my parts... And if I wasn't looking for something so specific I would have walked out within 5mins. The man working the front customer desk is the definition of A-HOLE. He acts very pretentious and like the job he's getting paid to do is in someway doing me a personal favor. His interaction with two foreign customers was just downright disrespectful. They were very polite and he was totally rude and talked down to them as if they were 2 year olds. The language used in front of customers is absolutely unacceptable. If a customer has any children with them they'd be leaving with a brand new vocabulary of profanity. Furthermore... The guy tried to charge me for a more expensive part that because of the mileage will be totally useless to me in order to get the part I called and drove down for. Not sure what this place is thinking. If they don't want to interact with customers face-to-face they shouldn't. The boss is sitting in his office and can hear everything. He acts as if this is acceptable behavior. I'm guessing there aren't many repeat "in-store" customers. It sounds like they supply most shops by over-the-phone transactions and deliveries. They should probably stick to that plan. read more

Misleading advertising on car-part.com Have a listing for a transfer case motor for $175 but when you call, turns out they won't sell it separate from the transfer case for which they want more money, obviously. Then why post it separate with a separate stock #? And they have more than 1 listing for the motor. Could have been a mistake? Unlikely, deliberately misguiding the customer. And when I brought this up to the guy I was talking to he told me I didn't understand business? Hmm...pretty sure I understand what's going on here. Shameful tactic, unprofessional and misleading. Bought an engine they said it was tested and low miles. Turns out it was one of their rework specials with used parts on it and the parts were unknown miles!! They said it was never damaged on the phone. Im an ase certified mechanic with 25 years exp. The oil pump had been replaced ( its on the front of the engine) It was probably broken in the wreck. Who knows how long it had no oil pressure. They had to have known that. Be careful their deals are not deals at least not in my case! I sent the engine back and they still charged me a 75.00 pallot fee!! They said I should just put it in and try it out! ( they do not cover labor!) unbelievable! read more

Terrible business. Steve the supposed sales manager sold me a junker Mini Cooper manifold (comes with a catalytic converter). He claimed it had 40K miles but it was a rusted piece of crap. At some point someone welded the two flange bolts to the flange this made it completely useless. I bought the part thinking it was bolt-on as it should be if it were not modified. Long story short they want me to pay freight to return it and the original freight (100 bucks). Steve was completely unprofessional and really a total dummy. He told me to go to an exhaust shop and somehow trick them into doing something when it's illegal to weld to a catalytic converter. Keep in mind I do my own work and bought it with the intention of bolting it on, like the original. Don't give your money to a business that would employ such an individual. read more
