wouldn't come back, don't recommend at all and wouldn't waste my money. they drove it around the block and tried to make me pay

My vehicle was brought in a couple of weeks ago for an overheating issue.  The shop was honest and communicative with me about the timeline in which the car could be looked at, and thoroughly explained what testing would be done. Unfortunately, it was found that the best course of action for my vehicle, should I choose to proceed with repairs, would be to install a new engine, which would have cost far more than the car was worth.  Apex was incredibly patient with me while I made the difficult decision on how to best proceed for my situation.  Although I did opt to scrap the car and purchase a new one, Apex allowed me to keep the car in their lot until the buyer I found for it could pick it up, and even helped me get change for the transaction.  Additionally, they only charged me for a simple 30-minute diagnostic, when they could have charged more. Hopefully, my family won't need car repairs again anytime soon, but if we do, I will be sure to contact Apex. read more

I ran into the owners of AVM at a restaurant and told them I left a review somewhere and now I can't find said review! I've used them several times on 2 of my vehicle. I don't know them personally but I was really impressed by their care and fairness for what they do. Pride and professionalism is obviously very important to them! Honest, straightforward, no shady, scammy "upselling" kind of stuff everybody wants to avoid, and they fixed the issue which was pretty serious. They were upfront with what needed to be done and were thorough in doing it. They tested the car multiple times before handing it back to me. They also provided me with a free wheel alignment and oil change. Also threw in 2-3 hours of service due to an extremely rusted axle at no extra charge. Very impressed and pleased. They really care that you know what is going on with your car and what to expect from it. They could have told me a whole BS story about how my car needed new this, new that - but they told me it was in pretty good shape and what to look out for. Let's put it this way - another dealer wanted to charge me $3,000-$4,000 for the same job. Apex did it for a fraction of the cost and was always professional about it. Their staff is very friendly - Pat even showed me around the shop because he saw how curious I was. I know where I will be going from now on to make repairs to my car. Went into Apex for a simple Valve cover gasket replacement. Traveled from Columbus (they're the closest certified repair service to me) Waited nearly 3 hours for my warranty company to approve the repair, Pamela did an excellent job advocating for me. She tried to expedite the process as much as she could! When the repair was approved she personally drove me to get my rental car, and when we arrived they said they didn't have a car for me! Pamela insisted on taking my sister and I to lunch while we waited for the issue to be resolved. After lunch we returned to find that we were being transferred to another establishment across Greenwood. Pamela gladly took us over there and stayed with me until she knew I was leaving in a rental vehicle. Anyone weary of repair shops, any first time buyers, anyone who could use a good advocate for your vehicle: GO SEE PAMELA. Aside from Ms. Pamela, the mechanics were all considerate and professional while diagnosing my car. Coming from a family of mechanics, it is difficult to turn my keys over to someone I don't know. The personnel here are profession, courteous, and HUMAN! Their kindness and consideration was beyond what I expected. I will continue to take my car to APEX whenever possible! read more

Best mechanic ever .. from me calling them to see if they had a chance to look at my car the same day to getting it fixed .. the owner even took the time to drive me to the greyhound since it was gonna be a couple of days before getting my car fixed ... This place comes across as super nice and they have your best interest at heart. I have to share my experience with them because I can't in good conscience let women take their cars here (not saying that's why I feel taken advantage of but I know mechanics do this). First off, I purchased a Volkswagen about a year ago that needed a new water pump. I saw the great reviews about Apex and decided to take my car there. They were great, super kind, and did what I thought was good work. Fast forward a few months, a hose that connects to the coolant breaks while I'm driving and my coolant immediately leaks out everywhere. I call them and say I don't think this is something that should have happened in this amount of time since I had the water pump replaced with them not long ago. Pam (the nice lady at the counter) says, you're right, this is something that shouldn't happen and we are going to tow your car (making it sound like the tow would be on the house and surprise!- it wasn't). I asked why wouldn't they replace any hoses to do with the coolant leak and they gave me this response, "Well, that's a hose that we wouldn't normally replace when it comes to the coolant." Okay, whatever. At this point, I'm in $3,000 and Dave points out that I have an oil leak. I knew I had a small leak because I had to put oil in it maybe once a week, but Dave kept calling it a large leak and I needed a new timing gasket. I get the new gasket and then he calls and says, "I made a mistake and there's a crack in the gasket cap that I missed so I'm not charging you for labor but you'll need a new $300 cap." So did I need a new gasket or a new cap because I already paid for the gasket, you missed this crack, it should be replaced for free. I apparently needed both (of course). To wrap this section up, I checked with other mechanics and they say that it is a small leak, not a large one. I'm starting to not trust them at this point. After getting this hose replaced and being told I need a gasket cap as well because the oil leak isn't actually fixed, I'm told I needed new tires because they are becoming dangerously worn and it will be dangerous very soon to drive on them (everything seems immediate and dramatic with this place). I looked at my tires and thought they looked worn but there was still tread on them. I said okay, it will need to be done eventually anyway, so let's just do it. I get four brand new tires and guess what- there's no warranty! That was my mistake for not checking but seriously, who doesn't give a warranty with new tires?? Now, I'm in for another $650. They put the tires on and I leave, go to work for a few hours, get in my car to go home and the ABS sensor comes on. I call Dave, have him look at it, and gives me an estimate of $2,700. I decide to talk to other mechanics and went to Auto Zone to have the code read. I'm told multiple times the code is for a wheel speed sensor and I'm being massively overcharged. I called Dave and tell him all of this. Then he tells me that Auto Zone's code reader isn't accurate with European cars (I immediately knew this had to be bull and confirmed that as well). Multiple mechanics told me that the odds of the ABS sensor not working the same day I had new tires put on were very low and it must have been something they did on accident or on purpose. I took the car back today to be looked at and tell them all the things that I know they are lying about and of course, there was nothing but excuses. He doesn't even take the tires off to check the wheel speed sensors but just scans it again and shows me that they are all okay and that it's nothing they did and they aren't going to fix anything, including the cap after taking all of my savings from me. Moral of the story, if you are a young female with a European car I would stay away from this place. read more

Apex was AMAZING. If you need your car fixed, take it here!!! I just moved to Indianapolis and wasn't sure where to take my car, so i took it here in hopes that they could do the job. And can i say they went above and beyond! They worked with my work schedule, and had my car done in just a day and a half. They had to order parts, AND install them and got it done in a day and a half - that's amazing!! They even gave me some money off of my total bill! I got my car back a week ago, and have drove up north three hours and back on it, and there is no problems!! seriously, if you need a repair, take your car to apex!!! read more

I bought a 2007 Ford F350 diesel from a dealer whom I trusted. Well, it turned out that the truck had some mechanical issues. It had 2 injectors in need of immediate replacement, 4 under-performing injectors, a bad oil cooler, and a failing EGR cooler. The car dealership has its vehicle work done at Apex...there is some agreement between the two. Anyhow, the dealer sent me to Apex to have my maintenance issues resolved. My truck spent 15 days at Apex to get only the 2 very bad injectors replaced and I was kept out the decision making process completely. I did, however, keep close tabs, by phone, on the process. My truck came of the shop, after the 15 days, with a stalling ( it didn't have a stalling issue when it went in to Apex) issue that was explained to me as being oil bubble in the high pressure oil system would go away eventually. I did some research and this was a valid guess but ended up not being the issue. I returned my stalling to truck to Apex where it remained for ten days in order to diagnose and fix the stalling issue. on the 9th or 10th day, it was discovered the the FICM clip was broken and that was the cause of the stalling. Apex replaced it at no charge to me. Approximately 300 miles later, things that Apex and my car dealer decided were not important started to fail, namely the oil cooler which cause my EGR cooler catastrophically fail...AND one of the two injectors that Apex replaced failed. Having no trust that my oil cooler and EGR cooler would be replaced in anything resembling to a timely manner, I had those items replaced at a Ford dealership. Since the failed injector was under warranty, I was stuck with taking my truck to Apex to have that injector replaced. Apex replaced that injector. It took 5 days of my truck being at Apex for that to happen. Stellar excuses and crappy service. Still, my truck is not running right because of the slack job agreement between Apex and Approval Auto Credit ( the Dealer ). I have taken it to a reputable Ford diesel mechanic to have the 4 under-performing injectors replaced. The problem here is integrity. Apex gets lots of patch-job business from Approval Auto Credit and is mainly concerned with maintaining the status quo. read more

Of course! The first cold wave comes and my truck has an issue. I dropped of my daughter at school at 7:30. As I'm leaving this little yellow wrench light comes on and the truck loses a little power. I stop at the gas station and look. Ya know, to pretend I think I know what I'm doing. Like I could actually see the problem and fix. That didn't work. So I drive it to Apex Vehicle Maintenance. They've been working on my vehicles for a while. They immediately plugged it in to get a diagnostic code. Identified the issue. Something about throttle body. Sprayed some cleaner. Set me an appointment for service and I'm on my way. These guys are great! If you every need your vehicle fixed bring it to Apex Vehicle maintenance. Great customer service, fair price. I've been taking my car to Apex for over a year now for all mechanical needs. Several months back there was an incident wherein a mistake was made and caused some malfunction with my car and as a single mom with literally no supports, I completely panicked. Although some may disagree, from my perception; this was not a minor issue and it caused me a great deal of stress. I went back to Apex and although I wasn't exactly the most pleasant person in the world that day, Pat and his staff did everything they could to remedy the situation and as the owner of the business, Pat went above and beyond to assure me that he would make sure that my car is serviced as needed going forward and he would take care of any problems that may surface due to the incident. Since that happened, Apex has continued to take very good care of my car, ensuring that all of the scheduled maintenance is taken care of and they really do go above and beyond to help me make sure it gets done! It is not easy for me to trust people and as a single mom; I have to rely on myself and the resources that I have and my car is a huge resource in taking care of my daughter to ensure she has everything she needs to have the best life possible! Because of the dedication that Pat has continued to show and the service he has continued to follow through with, I can say that I do trust him and I absolutely trust Tony to take the best possible care of my car so that I can have a reliable vehicle to last me a very long time! Pat has shown that he is a great, honest, faithful business man with integrity and loyalty to his customers and Tony is the best mechanic anyone can find... with all of the same qualities!!! Excellent Service on a 2002 Concorde, I recently purchased a used 2002 concorde and determined that some scheduled maintenance was needed based on carfax records. The job was a bit too large to tackle myself, so I returned to Apex as they've done outstanding work in the past. Pat performed a full inspection of my vehicle and informed me of it's overall condition and provided specific details about various systems and parts including the transmission. Ultimately, the timing belt was changed (on 105k schedule) and Pat advised all other parts that should be reviewed or changed in the area of the vehicle since the front of the engine was torn down. The price was very fair and I was provided a ride home and picked up when the car was ready. The car was returned without major scratches or dents in the hood area(not always the case when heavy duty work is done under the hood) and runs great! Part of the repair required removing the oil filter, which was unexpected, and they threw in an oil change for free. I'll be back again when service is needed. Thank you Apex!, Dion P. read more
