My sister is getting married in October and this was the third place we went to look for dresses. My sister absolutely loved this place!! Yvonne and her family are so nice and were so helpful. Thanks to an egregious error and complete lack of empathy from Yvonne and her staff, I spent last weekend crying in every bridal shop in the Capital District. I found beautiful grey bridesmaid dresses for my girls at Bridal Gallery by Yvonne and enjoyed my experience picking them out. When I went to pick them up, they were the wrong color. In fact, the tops were white-not exactly a popular bridesmaid dress color. How Yvonne's staff missed that the dresses didn't match the order form when they arrived is beyond me. I remained calm, as I explained the problem. Yvonne's staff ushered me out of the store as quickly as possible, assuring me that Yvonne would call in 24 hours with a solution. The solution was for the designer to ship new dresses in April. I explained that this wouldn't work. Two weeks was not enough time for my out-of-town bridesmaids to get the dresses and have them altered. Yvonne said I was overacting and that alterations can be done in 1 day. When I asked if she was offering to do the alterations for free at her shop, she snarkily told me that she can't offer that because she doesn't sew. Was she going to offer a discount to the girls who would be rushing last minute to get these dresses? Nope. The best she could do was call the designer again and try for an earlier date. Though no guarantees could be made. Rather than being apologetic and understanding, she was rude. I couldn't shake the feeling that I couldn't trust her, so I decided to take my business elsewhere. There were 2 local bridal shops, who unlike Yvonne, saw a bride in distress and jumped into action to solve a problem that wasn't theirs. David's Bridal: The manager, Jaclyn, and 2 associates spent hours figuring out how to get 8 dresses to arrive in time. They rigged the computer to speed up shipping, found a shade of grey that ships quicker, and even called in a favor at the warehouse. These ladies are miracle workers. Jocelyn's Bridal: In the midst of the Yvonne drama, my mom had her dress fitting at Joceyln's. When they heard the story, every single person in that store sprung to help us. The owner called designers while 2 girls pulled grey dresses and offered to let me buy the samples so I could walk out with dresses that day. There are great bridal shops out there who care about brides, but Yvonne isn't one of them. Stay away. read more

Please save yourself the heartache of ordering anything from Yvonne's Bridal. She did not order my daughter's long sleeve wedding dress correctly. The sleeves we're terribly undersized. When I called to tell her about the problem she doesn't answer the phone and hides behind email. She claimed the designer does not offer custom size sleeve, and she knows this because she has ordered from this designer for 19 years. Then I asked why she didn't suggest we order more material at the time of the order, and never got an answer. When I called the designer directly they told me the sleeves could have been ordered with the correct biceps measurement. Yvonne has not answered emails and just went silent on me when I told her about the problem. She got her money, and we are on our own to fix the problem she created. We are now too close to the wedding to be able to order additional lace that will match. We are forced to accept using non- matching lace to enlarge the sleeves to fit. If you find a dress you like at Yvonne's, order it from somewhere else to save yourself the disappointment and frustration. There is no responsibility taken by Yvonne once you've paid for the dress. In this day and age, when you spend a small fortune on a wedding dress, there are certain expectations. You want to be treated like a princess. You want to have that Say Yes to the Dress moment, no matter how stereotypical and saccharine it sounds. But it's true. To be honest, I did not find by dress at the Bridal Gallery by Yvonne. I found it at another shop further north. However, by the time I found the dress, I had already been spoiled by the amazing stylists (we started with the adorable Tirsia), and finally found out what it was like to be waited on at a bridal gallery. This second spot did nothing--they were rude and couldn't even give me a private space. So you know what I did? I found out the style number of the dress I liked, called up Yvonne, and asked if they could order it for me. And you know what? THEY DID. They did not carry the brand or the dress, and they were able to order it special, just for me. This was absolutely incredible and a real preview of what was to come. Each time I went, they had a large, private lounge area for me to use. During my first visit, Tirsia listened to the styles I liked and what I thought I might want to see in a dress. She was very thoughtful in her choices, and, while I am a larger lady, she was able to give me several dresses that were not woefully too small. I also appreciated that they did not make me spend hours going through their inventory on my own. It was such a stress relief that she listened to me, saw the shape of my body, and then gave me a set of custom curated choices, almost all of which could have been serious contenders. They allowed my friend to get my faraway mom on Skype so she could feel involved. They gave me space and they gave me time. They never for a second made me feel less-than for being a ~curvy~ bride. And once I purchased my dress, I even got a handwritten thank-you card. They really went above and beyond for me. Alterations were not cheap, but they did them fast and they did them VERY well. On my wedding, my dress fit like a dream. I highly, highly recommend this Bridal Gallery. I always felt very important here, and they made the process fun (and clothes shopping is generally a miserable chore for me). I am so grateful they were able to accommodate me! On my final try-on before taking the dress on a plane for my wedding, I finally got to meet Yvonne in person. What a riot! She was awesome, and took extra time in showing us how to use the bustle, giving us tips on taking the dress on a plane, and helping me calm any nerves. After meeting her, it's easy to see why the Gallery is as accommodating and friendly as it is. read more

I went today and had a really good experience. The gallery is very nicely set up and beautiful inside. The dressing room was very spacious and so comfortable. I felt like I was the only person in the shop! I think I may have been. The store is quiet during the week, according to our consultant. I had Janice helping me out today. She was so nice and helpful! She picked perfect dresses for me that matched what I wanted. She was helpful with answering questions my mom and I had and giving her opinion when asked. She knew a lot about the fabrics and the designers and was very professional. I felt really comfortable throughout the experience. The dresses Janice pulled were gorgeous!!!! I loved most of the dresses I tried on. They have a very good selection. They are priced from about $1400-$3000. I looked at a lot of dresses that were $1700-$2000. I found the dresses to be well-priced for how intricate they are. I fell in love with one dress but did not commit yet because I have one other appointment I want to go to. I may be back! Unprofessional staff. My sister ordered a dress a year in advance and they got the order wrong. For them to fix the mistake was a nightmare. Then the seamstress did not want to work late to make sure the dress would be done on time even though it was their mistake. Most awful experience buying a gown. My sister began to cry. Sorry, this was not a pleasant experience. We were put in a very small room with only a screen for the bride to change behind. Her underwear was exposed to the guests several times before she even got behind the screen. There was a negative attitude (pushy) from the beginning blaming the bride for not being clear what she wanted. (she was). I much prefer salons where the bride can select the dresses she wants to try on. Even 'Say Yes to the Dress' often allows people in the stock room. This was not it. My wife went to this place to investigate purchasing a dress for our wedding in 2016. To date we are still in court trying to get our $1,600 Yvonne stole from us and by the way she still has the dress! Really sad that is what was dealt to us on our special occasion. My wife picked a dress in stock on a rack at 9:00 pm in the evening but after sleeping on it changed her mind. She called the next morning to cancel the deal and they refused to refund money. Please be forewarned not to give this place any money because you won't get it back if there is a problem. I usually don't write reviews but I had such a bad experience here that I felt the need to. I came to this shop because I had heard a few good things about them. And over the phone they were very accommodating, especially because I live in VA as my fiancé is the navy. So planning a wedding in NY is a little more difficult. So I usually have to try and call places to see when they can get me in around my work schedule. Over the weekend I came here to look for my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses. Our appointment was at 1pm and we knew we were going to be half an hour late due to other circumstances. We called in advance to let them know - we were prepared to either have to reschedule to come later etc, but and they were extremely nice about it and told us to get to them as soon as we could. That was the only good thing I can say happened during my whole experience at this shop - was how accommodating they were OVER THE PHONE. When we arrived we were escorted into a private room. Our consultant (older lady) started right away because we were half an hour late. She kept making little snide remarks about how our time was "cut short" because we were late (we got done around 3pm, which from 1:30-3:00 in my opinion is plenty of time to try on dresses as I had gone to another bridal shop the night before and found 5 dresses I liked in a matter of 30 minutes). Her remarks made me extremely uncomfortable. When I made the appointment over the phone they asked what style(s) I was most interested in so they could prepare for my appointment. I told them I was looking for something long sleeved and fitted, not a poofy or bigger dress. When our consultant was getting ready to go into the back she read back what style I told them on the phone, and I agreed that that's still what I wanted. She left the room to go into the back to pick out a few dresses and came back in probably less than 5 minutes. The first couple dresses I tried on I wasn't a fan of, but they were far off from what I described... they just seemed a bit out-dated. Then she brought in this large poofy dress. I tried it on because I thought maybe she just wanted to try it on to make sure poofy wasnt something I wanted (not that she ever really explained why she picked out most of the dresses). After putting it on I knew for sure that wasn't what I wanted and I again explained that to her... and also suggested some other ideas to maybe help her... but the dresses just kept getting worse from there. She also kept bringing out MORE poofy dresses. After seeing my face she stated "you can remove some of the tulle from it to make it smaller" After I believe around 20 dresses I just wanted to get out of there but didn't want to be rude (or make things worse because she already didn't seem to like me) the last dress I tried on I pretended to like to get her to stop pulling out more dresses so we could end the wedding dress appointment. She told me "well finally I thought you were never going to smile". Which may have not been the right way to go about it but I was just so tired/frustrated/uncomfortable that I just wanted to do something to get a quick exit. Then I asked if we were going to move on to the bridesmaids dresses. At every other bridal shop I went to the consultant went out and helped us pick out a few styles and showed me that they had the color that I was wanted for the bridesmaids and stuck around to help them try them on etc. but my consultant just lead us out of the room and pointed to the wall and said something like "they're over there" and then walked away. I didn't know if they had the right color (because I was going for something a little unique) among other things. To sum up a rather long review (I wanted to let everyone know something about what happened) I have never been that uncomfortable in my entire life. I can't speak for all of the consultants there but the one I had (again - older lady around maybe 60-70?) was a terrible experience. I didn't feel welcomed at all at this shop and I will be suggesting other shops to any future brides I know who are looking for dresses in the Albany area. read more

They carry a wide range of dresses all beautiful. The employees are very nice. I came here after a bad experience at fancy shcmancies (I most likely spelled that wrong). The dresses are on the expensive side. I just wish there were more samples that were on the larger size range, it's very important to me to try on such a big purchase before I order the dress. It's hard to really get an idea of how the dress fits if the sample size is too big or too small. Overall a great shop with friendly staff and a good selection. read more

This is the last place I would ever recommend someone to go and purchase anything. My wife stopped by to try on some wedding dresses with her two daughters three or four months before our wedding. They looked only at dresses which were in "stock" due to the short timing of our wedding. After trying on numerous dresses my wife picked a dress her daughters thought was fitting her. So my wife charged the entire dress cost to her credit card, a little over $1,500.00. After sleeping on it she decided it was not the correct dress for the type of wedding we were having. She called at 9:00 am as soon as they opened the next day and asked for the sale to be canceled and she would stop and look at other dresses she saw. After looking there was nothing left that my wife liked so she asked to cancel the charge. Yvonne refused to give us our money back! So we filled a report with the Better Business Bureau and had our attorney send a letter to refund our money. I've never meet such a bad business person who was so greedy they kept the dress and our money. We have filed a lawsuit and have a court case pending to get our money back. Be aware once you give these people money don't expect to get it back. This was a honorable experience which effects my wife to this day. I will bring Yvonne to justice and get back what she stole from us. read more

Bridal Gallery by Yvonne was my 2nd stop on the dress shopping train and I should have skipped right over it. Not only were they rediculously expensive, they had the worst selection imaginable. I had even specifically checked with their representative at the bridal show where I learned of them to see if they could fit me, a size 24 bride, and was assued there was "plenty of selection". Want to know how many dresses I actually got to try on my body? 1. Nope, not a typo. I did get to try 2 or 3 others on by having them clipped to my bodice, but not before the consultant pinched my breast in the clip too leaving a nasty mark and a bad taste in my mouth. When I contacted the owner via email to let her know about the situation, all I got was an email saying she was sorry to hear about my appointment. And beyond adding me to their mailing lists both via email and snail mail, nothing has been done about this incident since. Don't walk away, RUN! It's not worth the effort to shop with them. I know that I'm glad I found my dress elsewhere, and I won't put my bridesmaids through the torture of trying on dresses there either. read more

I NEVER write reviews, this is my first one ever actually. I went in for a 1:30pm appointment today and was finally given a room to change in at 2:15pm after asking 3 times to several staff members if I could go in for my appointment. Every time I asked to start my alterations it was like I was inconveniencing them even though I'm a paying customer. Finally I have my fitting, walk out to the front desk where Yvonne proceeds to give me an insanely overpriced quote, and when I asked, very kindly and considerately, for a price breakdown so I could understand why it was so much more than I thought it would be, she immediately got defensive and rude and went on and on how no one else could do the job for that cheap. And then when I asked about payment, she said they only do cash, which sketched me out. My mom (who was standing next to me at the register) asked if there was sales tax and Yvonne said no because it's a service in NYS and those aren't taxed. To which my mom replied, very innocently and just curiously, "really? I run a service business and we have to tax" (or something to that effect, so was just making conversation and was genuinely curious - she wasn't trying to pry or sound like an asshole). Yvonne went OFF on us and was yelling at us, in front of the whole store, that we were questioning her business practices and how she "doesn't have time for this" and that I should hurry up and sign my contract because "we're done here." I was in shock and awe of the 180 she did AND how she could be so insanely rude as I was about to hand over $1k to her business. I (miraculously) remained very calm but my mom started tearing up because Yvonne, a grown ass woman, was berating her in front of a whole store of customers. So I took my dress and left, didn't give her a cent of my hard earned money. I've NEVERRRRR been so disrespected by a business owner. Yvonne is rude & entitled and she lost my business because of it. IF YOU WANT A PLEASANT, TIMELY & FUN WEDDING DRESS EXPERIENCE DO NOT GO HERE. It'll only make you more stressed & frustrated. I enjoyed looking for my bridesmaids dresses here. The staff was friendly and helpful but not pushy. They have dresses organized by color and length so it was easy to sort through what you like and don't. They were on the pricey side. I found exactly the same dresses I liked here for less at two other local shops. I had to seek out some help to get any, but the staff was nice once I got their attention. If you're looking to spend some time on your own, they will let you poke around. They were not as attentive as other places I visited, but they did spent some time with me talking about accessories. My big problem is that they cut the designer's tags out of the dresses to sew their own logo in with their own cataloging system. I think that's a dirty little trick so if you find a dress you love you can't find it anyplace else. I had done my research and recognized many of the dresses but they were very hush-hush about who they carried. Don't bother bringing a camera with you. read more

I would love to give this store 5 stars, but they are not able to accommodate bigger girls, which was heartbreaking for me to see with my bridesmaids. Otherwise, the store is bright, clean and organized. Yvonne seems to always be present and helpful as well as friendly and knowledgeable. There are plenty of fitting rooms, and it's easy to find styles as well as colors. Yvonne's is the exact opposite of the customer service nightmare that is David's Bridal. I am in a wedding this fall. We ordered strapless Bill Levkoff bridesmaids dress from Yvonne's. I am a curvy plus size and very familiar with my measurements. I am confident in my own skin and have no problem ordering the appropriate size. To start, the saleswoman measured me wrong (or purposely inflated my measurements) adding nearly 4 inches (!) to my waist measurement, for example. I asked if I should take off my sweater and she said no. (What?) Based on these incorrect measurements, the sales women suggested I order a larger size. I protested explaining that I just tried on a very similar style (also strapless, same designer) that was two sizes smaller than her suggestion. The saleswoman didn't agree. (WHAT?) Despite the saleswoman's warnings, I ordered a dress two sizes smaller than what she suggested. The dress came in and is still too big. I can literally pull the dress on and off without unzipping it. But the saleswoman said it fit perfectly (WHAT???) 1. Teach you staff how to measure someone. 2. Become remotely familiar with the accuracy of the designer's size charts. Bill Levkoff runs large. 3. Went here looking for prom dresses with two of my friends the other day and it was honestly fantastic. The staff is superrrr friendly and helpful, plus they're always willing to take dresses off the mannequins if you want to try them on. I asked to try on probably three or four dresses that were on mannequins and they were so nice when you'd probably expect someone to get annoyed after a while. They have a great selection of prom dresses (which have their labels, by the way) and all of them have these tags saying their size and what other colors the dress comes in which is handy. The store was pretty busy but they definitely had enough people working because there was always someone ready to answer your questions. Definitely would shop here again read more

Wasn't impressed with the bridal experience here. The consultant herself was pleasant, but not much to rave about. This was my fourth stop bridal gown hunting, and the service and experience did not come close to comparing to the rest. The very worst part about it was the fact that you don't get to browse their dresses and choose ones you feel you'd want to try on. Instead, you only get to try on what the consultant (who's known you for less than 5 minutes) thinks you might like. I ended up purchasing my dress from Yvonne's because of all the great reviews I heard from family and friends. However during my visit I didn't not feel "special" at all. I felt as though I was a burden and a bother and was very rushed. The staff were nice but you could tell it was all fake and not genuine. I love the dress I picked but I'm very very nervous for my first fitting. Really hoping for a different experience at my first fitting! Fingers crossed! UPDATE: Working with the Bridal Gallery by Yvonne has been an emotional rollercoaster. In the beginning I was very upset. I was told when I purchased my dress that it would fit like an A-line when it came in and was actually " my size" - not necessarily what you want to hear but I loved the lace so I believed the saleswoman and purchased the dress. I was a little disappointed when my dress came in and I tried it on as my dress was a modified A-line and not a true A-line dress as I was told when I first purchased my dress with the saleswoman Janet. My first time I tried on my dress was with Yvonne- she made me feel at ease and was very reassuring. We came up with a tentative schedule for future fittings and alterations. My first fitting was stressful- I came in with a list of things I wanted changed on my dress and there just was not enough time. The seamstress had to bounce back and forth between other appointments and I was asked to come back on another day the next week for the last appointment so more time could be spent on the dress. The second fitting (which ended up being considered my true first fitting) was with another staff member and she was outstanding! She got Marge (the seamstress) and we started discussing different alteration plans. We only had time to get to the sleeves and the top of the dress (bust) pinned. We still had so many other alterations that needed to be done and the wedding was only 2 weeks away! I was beyond stressed! My next fitting appointment was with the original saleswoman Janet as Yvonne was not there that day. I knew we didn't have a great history but I went in open minded and she proved again to be extremely arrogant, rude, and not helpful. I left crying. No alterations were completed or even started from my previous fitting. We discussed more alterations that needed to be completed such as adding on my belt, hemming the bottom of the dress, adding buttons, adding a bustle - and to top it off my wedding was in 1 week!!!! The next day I felt so sick to my stomach and stressed so I called to make sure that Janet would not be there for my next fitting and Yvonne ensured that Yvonne would be there for my next fitting. My last fitting was the Tuesday (4 days) before my wedding with Yvonne and Marge. I was the very last appointment that night. I stood there from 6:30pm- 9:30pm while Marge hand sewed everything onto my dress. The work that Marge does is absolutely AMAZING!!! Marge and Yvonne are so incredibly patient and kind and so reassuring. I left that night crying HAPPY tears. My vision of my dress finally came together and I looked beautiful! I purchased another dress because I was afraid that I would hate my dress from Yvonne's and that night I decided I was not even going to wear my second dress and I was going to stay in my dress from Yvonne's the entire wedding night. I trusted Marge to take my dress and reinforce all the sewing because that night was the last night I would have it on before my wedding day. I picked up my dress Thursday afternoon from Janet because Friday morning at 8am we were leaving for Warrensburg so we could begin setting up for the wedding and to have the rehearsal. Thursday night as I was packing my husband asked if my veil was in my dress bag or in a separate bag. That is when it hit me......MY VEIL!!!!! Janet never made sure my veil was with my dress!!!!! The fury raged through me- I double and triple checked my dress bag and undergarment bag- my veil was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! Then I remembered.....we were so worried about my dress that I hadn't tried on my veil since my very FIRST fitting! I immediately called the store and Kayla answered and could tell I was very upset and frantic- she is seriously an angel- she offered to bring the veil to me! I took a deep breath and had my mom go with me back up to the store and we got my veil. If my husband would have never said anything.....I wouldn't have had my veil for the wedding. In the end everything ended up working out but I feel that so many alterations wouldn't have had to be done if I wasn't lied to when I purchased my dress initially. If you do anything AVOID working with Janet. She is the only staff member that is terrible to work with and caused so much stress and tears. If I could only rate Marge and Yvonne I would give 10 stars. They are both absolutely amazing people and made the process so much easier. read more

STAY FAR AWAY!!! In February we came for bridesmaid dresses, the second we walked into the door they were rude and that should've been a clue to leave. Everyone found a dress they fell in love and decided to purchase. We were told around July 5 the dresses would be in. July and August came and went, no dresses. Finally they arrive in September with barely a month left before the wedding. My maid of honors dress came 4 sizes to SMALL. They tried blaming it on us saying it was our fault. Last I checked we weren't the ones who took measurements? They tried making her take the sample dress for the SAME price she paid for a brand new dress. The sample dress has been tried on by hundreds of people, had stains and tears etc. All we wanted to make things right was to get her some money back or have alterations done for free. They would not do anything and laughed in our faces multiple times. 11 days away from the wedding and the dress was supposed to be completed. She gets a call saying her dress isn't ready and will be ready next week, 4 days before the wedding! When the dress is finally complete they ripped the entire one side, and added material that doesn't even match the dress and the color is off. Still would not give any money back or do alterations for free and were quick to take her money before the dress was even COMPLETED! I have so many friends getting married this next year and family members going to prom and they WILL NOT be coming here. read more

Yvonne's was the first place that I was looking for my bridal gown. Once I stepped into the store it was like nothing else I felt. We had our own suite to try on my dress with my mom and my bridesmaids there with me. The woman that assisted me understood what type of dress I was looking for and listened to everything we were saying. The 7th dress I tried on, was "the one". I recently got engaged and was excited to find a great dress at a reasonable price since I am on a budget. I researched different bridal shops in the area, and decided to come to Bridal Gallery by Yvonne after having gone to four other bridal shops with no luck. Specifically, there was a particular dress I wanted to try on that only this shop carried within this area. The process of making an appointment was easy enough, and the lady I spoke to was very nice. She informed me that dresses start at $1200. Once I arrived, it took them a bit of time to prepare the room and start my appointment. Although the personnel were nice enough, I found it disappointing that customers were not allowed to take pictures of themselves in the dresses we tried on because I was really hoping to be able to show them to my family, who weren't able to accompany me to the appointment because they live out of town. I was also surprised by this given that every other bridal store I'd been to did allow, if not encourage, customers to take pictures of themselves. Also, I found that the dresses were marked up higher than retail and were overpriced compared to other shops that carried the same dress. I was actually explicitly told by the staff that all dresses there start at $1400 and up, which was different from what I'd been told on the phone when I initially made the appointment. All in all, I would probably recommend that folks shop around first and research the retail price of your dress before deciding to commit to getting one here. read more

I went to Bridal by Yvonne yesterday and found my wedding dress. Eva helped me out and she was very friendly. I liked the private dressing area. I wasn't sure what type of dress I wanted, and Eva helped me find what I wanted. Overall, it was a great experience for someone who is not used to being in the spotlight trying on tons of dresses. read more
