It is a super cute little Salon in odd looking building on Mira Mar/black mountain area. Their are different stylists there. I had appt made, had shown pictures to the stylist before arriving there, hard to find the place, cant see the building number from street ( hidden by trees). Finally asked a student that was going there for session, how to get inside the building( my stylist wasn't answering the phone, she was busy with another client). I had to wait fee minutes- not big deal. So i showed her my inspiration pics and discussed what i want in details. The outcome is very different than the pictures i had shown her or descriptions. I had requested highlights, she used toner to tone down my previous ones( they look redish), but didn't do anything. I am not happy with service or overall experience. I've known Haydee for almost 10 years so it was extra special to have her there on my wedding day...she was prompt, attentive, and made the whole morning enjoyable. :) I went for an old Hollywood glam hair style with smoky eyes and more natural makeup. It photographed well and stayed throughout the night! I give this spot a 4.5 out of 5 only because the location is a little work to get to and the salon itself is a little small. I had such a bad experience with salons before, especially with the loss of a little one not too far behind it and def made it a bad experience coupled with "bad salon service" it was kinda a nightmare. I really didn't want to spend the money at salon for hair/ makeup for the Marine Corps Ball but in the end I think I chose really well with this salon. First and foremost, the experience was fast & FRIENDLY and although it may seem like I spent a lot I was charged at least $65 for hair and then makeup and I left a generous tip for both ladies. I even left with some beauty bucks which I'm forever grateful for and may even use towards some highlights or a full color. Booking an appointment was easy and although my appointment was a little late at 2 pm and our event was at 6, I was a little nervous but to my surprise I got a call from the salon a day prior giving me a heads up about an earlier open appointment at 11 am due to cancellations so I booked the 11 am and didn't have to stress. The makeup artist was great, the hair stylist was great. Enjoyable experience and the salon, although small is really just pretty and gorgeous. I definitely recommend Haydee! She gave me a fair price for my wedding hair and makeup (150) and the trial(100)! For my bridesmaids it is 70 for makeup and 65 for the mothers! I definitely recommend Haydee, she is very talented and was very helpful with what she recommended! So far I have just experienced the trial with her, which lasted about 2 hours and was very detailed and thorough. Haydee guided me through some different hair styles so that I could get a better idea of what they looked like on myself, but I am very excited for my wedding day because I trust her taste and I know my finished look will be very polished! Haydee was a wealth of information and gave me additional recommendations for lash extension artists and spray tan locations! This review is long over due. I was looking for a place that does hair and make up for an engagement photo shoot. I found Bristle Hair and Makeup Artistry though Yelp. Not only was it reasonable price but it was also close by to where I live. The salon is absolutely beautiful. I love the Shabby chic look! Haydee did my make up and hair. She's such a nice person and really pays attention to detail. I was so happy how it all turned out! I have never felt so beautiful in my life ! I went back a month later to have Haydee color my hair. She did a pretty ombré. Again I was super delighted with the results! After a couple months I went back to get my hair done. Alyssa did my hair. She cut and colored it. Super blonde and curled it at the end. I loved it! I came back again and Megan did my hair. This girl rocks ! She kicks ass !! Her hair is always a different style, different color, and awesome tattoos. I knew this is my girl ! I love bright colorful hair. And I'm always changing my hairstyle. I can't have super edgy hair since my job won't allow me, but she always finds a way to kick it up a notch! I've always wanted silver hair! And after a few times seeing her, each time I got a little more blonde. Then the silver kicked in! I had half silver and half dark coffee brown underneath. We got even more creative. She found an awesome dark purple to mix with the dark brown underneath the silver. Since I do have a crap load of hair we did a badass under shave. If I could give more than 5 stars I most definitely would. To start off, the salon is absolutely chic and adorable, I couldn't get over how cute it was decorated. Next, I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment and Megan (first time meeting her) welcomed me with open arms as if we had been friends for years and got me right in the chair. While my hair is really long, so I knew it'd take a few hours to process, both Megan and Haydee were so accommodating in making sure I was doing okay while my hair processed. I had my hair cut by Diana about a month ago. She was nice and the salon is SUPER cute. I was specific when describing the cut I wanted. I asked for a blunt cut, angled lob. I showed her a few pictures so I was confident we were on the same page. During the haircut she checked in with me and we decided to go a little shorter in the back. After drying my hair I noticed one side of my hair was about 2 inches shorter than the other side! She said oh yes I am going to fix that. By the time she was done "fixing" it I had lost the majority of the length in the front and had barely any angle left to my angled lob. She asked how I liked my hair. I was pretty sad about loosing all the length I had just spent 4 months growing out. I gently let her know that the cut was nice but I was disappointed because it's not what I asked for. She didn't say anything and started to brush my hair. It was kinda awkward. I then said I'm sorry l didn't mean to upset you but I was just being honest. The cut is nice, just not what I wanted. She said well there is still an angle to it. And I just dropped it after that. Needless to say, I won't be back in. I shouldn't be the one apologizing to my stylist when she's the one who cut it lopsided. read more

They look promising in their facebook/instagram posts but the result I got from Alyssa was something I could have done with my poor hair-coloring knowledge and a tub of bleach (pictures to follow). I went for a consultation before my appointment asked if what I wanted was possible and she assured me that it was. To add to the unprofessionalism Alyssa let me know, after the fact, that she put green dye in my hair to cancel out the red and was really dissapointed by the lack of communication. I love going on Saturday mornings as its calm in the Salon and very relaxing- the music is wonderful too and adds to the ambiance.
