Jennifer and her team were amazing! Some of my bridesmaids, my mom and I had pretty bad dark under eyes from lack of sleep, but we looked so awake and refreshed after the makeup. I did a makeup trial with Jennifer and showed her a few inspo pictures. She examined them with me and explained what we were seeing and how we could tweak it to suit my face more. I really liked how it turned out, but for the next two weeks I was looking back on the makeup trial photos and found some things I wanted to change. This is an overdue review for JP Charming Beauty and the amazing team. Wedding planning is stressful, so, planning a destination wedding would be even worse and ten times the stress, right? Omg this is a long overdue review on Jennifer and her team who did my wedding day hair and make up (for me and my 2 MOH's) back in September 2024. TLDR: the most amazing experience! I currently work out of state and came home to California for my wedding. I found her through Instagram and really loved her portfolio. It was not easy planning a wedding from a different state and time zone but we corresponded through e-mail to work out all the logistics easily and with great communication. Since we didn't get to do a trial run, she made sure to call me before to discuss through what kind of look I was going for and what would and wouldn't work with my fine, flat Asian hair that doesn't hold curls well. It was reassuring that we were talking things through to make sure we were on the same page. Day of, she hosted us in her studio which was beautifully decorated (nice for wedding get-ready photos) and was conveniently close to the church. She took her time in doing every step in my hair and make up personally. She laid a good base for my make up to stay all day. She made sure my curls would last all day. She valued my opinion and got my input before proceeding with each step and we truly clicked on every decision. She was so easy to work with and the conversation was never dull. She made me feel glammed up and glowy but still me. While getting the getting-ready photos, she even helped the photographer and us with extra props from her studio which even had a great backdrop and couch for bridal party pictures. She accommodated us in every way and went above and beyond. Lastly, of course, she sent me with a touch-up bag which came in handy. I truly lucked out in finding Jennifer and appreciate all her work into making me feel like a beautiful bride and making the experience feel so special! Jennifer did my hair and makeup for my Vietnamese ceremony and reception in September. I am obsessed with how it came out! She took everything she could from my inspiration pics, and otherwise advised why it would not work (different ethnicity hair, weather, etc) and gave me alternatives that were just as good. It was also so lovely chatting with her throughout the process - she's a lovely human! It was the hottest weekend of the year in San Diego and Jennifer not only gave me instructions on how to manage, gave me a kit to fix things up after she left, and but also even gave me a complementary touch up between events when I came by her studio, frazzled. Jennifer's team was awesome! We sent them to the wrong address so we were 45 mins delayed but they were still done on time for my wedding ceremony. Their make up and hair was on point! They were able accommodate some addition guest that needed some light make up and hair done. Jennifer was supposed to be on her anniversary trip but she still managed to check-in for a few hours to make sure every thing was on point. Jennifer and her team were amazing! Jennifer did my makeup trial for my engagement shoot, my hair and makeup for my tea ceremony, and my makeup on my wedding reception day. From the beginning, Jennifer was always accommodating and quick to respond. I told her that I had to drive to LA right after my trial for my engagement shoot and she moved my appointment earlier in the day. I showed her an inspiration photo and my makeup came out perfectly. She also took the time to explain all of the steps and assured me that although it feels like a lot of makeup, it will look great in the photos. For my tea ceremony, she adjusted my makeup look based on the color of my dress and it turned out perfect. She also helped put on hair accessories that I brought to pair with my low bun. I got so many compliments from family members at the tea ceremony! I showed her the look that I wanted for my wedding reception the following day and she suggested hair extensions to make it look more fuller. She was able to find extensions that matched my hair and brought them the next day. On the reception day, her team started on hair and makeup for my bridesmaids promptly and Jennifer arrived after driving from another wedding (the dedication!). I really appreciated that she spoke Vietnamese to my mom and MIL and they couldn't stop commenting how talented she was. Her team stayed to do touch ups on everyone and Jennifer also helped with adjusting my dress when I was having trouble with it. Jennifer and her assistant left at their scheduled time and later on, I ended up messing up my makeup (from crying lol). My planner called her and she ended up coming back to the venue and helped touch up my makeup before leaving for her flight. I really appreciated that she did that even though she didn't have to. When I think back on my wedding, I'm really happy that everything turned out amazing because of Jennifer and her team's dedication.
