No waiting, just an immediate solution to my painful problem. Doctor K (Tarik Kardestuncer, M.D.) is a remarkable individual, spectacular human, and truly embodies the Hippocratic Oath. He is hardworking and excellent at what he does. I can't say enough about him, both as a person and as a doctor. He surpasses any other doctor I've ever met. And at 67 years old, I've seen a BUNCH of doctors, he is by far the best! Dr K. - He is in this profession for all the right reasons.

I had a previous experience with this office that was rather unpleasant. I got in line to check in…read more When it was my turn , all of a sudden every receptionist (or whatever they are called these days) was "occupied". The fact that I was left standing there for over five minutes was ridiculous. Finally, a young lady returning from her break helped me check in. Miraculously the person right behind me was invited to check in immediately. Hmmmm. The wait to see the doctor was also lengthy. I was finally called to the back only to meet with the doctor I was referred to for five minutes and told he was referring me to his colleague. Horrible bedside manner. Condescending to be sure. I didn't ask why he was referring me to someone else. I was checked out by the same receptionist who walked over from her desk to do so. Hmmm. I went to the second appointment and not so bad this time. However, this doctor's bedside manner was as off-putting as the first. Just a bit too much arrogance. I decided not to return. Fast forward. I end up at the ER with a hand injury that is not healing properly and broke open and bled profusely. The ER contact a hand surgeon who knows immediately what it is without seeing it. Unfortunately they are affiliated with, you guessed it, Orthopedic Partners. Must be new I thought. So the OP was supposed to get me in ASAP according to the ER nurse. At least by Friday. No phone call. I call the following week and can't locate my insurance card so I'm told I need to provide the number before an appointment can be made. Understood. I find the card and try to call back several times that same day. No one picks up. Just on hold indefinitely. The next day I try again. No luck. The third day, after trying unsuccessfully to connect with scheduling I speak to an operator to ask if there is a better time to call. She tells me no, not really. High call volume. So, I say thank you and have a nice day. I contact a surgeon's office affiliated with Backus Hospital and surprise! they answered immediately and tell me what I should do for a referral. Pleasant, professional and efficient. Thank goodness for options.

This facility is all about rules and treating its users like cattle…read more My Mom's Doctor issued an open order for processing urine samples. The first time I attempted to drop off a specimen I was told the order was not done right, take a number and set down. I am my mom's primary caretaker so I asked how long this would take. Answer, we don't know. After a half hour I left went to My doctors office and told them of the problem. Went back to the facility and they said OK now to drop off the sample. Back a week later, to drop off another sample, only one other person in the waiting room. Two clerks at computers. Approached the same one as last week offered to leave the sample, told no I am not doing that today see other clerk. Told take a number and wait to be called. I was called and went through the story again about dropping off sample for my Mom. Her question was do you have ID for your Mom? I replied my Mom is home sick the name and DOB is on container, on plastic bag and here on a sheet of paper as I showed her the info. She typed away and said, now OK to give sample to lab tech. I went to door saw a lab tech and offered her the sample. She said I can not take that now I have a person in the waiting room for blood draw. Go sit in waiting room. I was waiting for the blood draw and saw a second Tech enter room, asked if she could take sample as I wanted to get back to my Mom She said what is the name and DOB of your Mom . I replied its written on the bottle, on the package and here on this piece of paper. her reply. you have to say it. OK so I did. Bottom line was it took me a half hour in this office to deliver a urine specimen. All this while only myself and one other person was in the room with at least five employees of this facility were doing nothing as far as I could tell. This is worse than being in the Army. Find another facility if you can.

Due to a parent with extreme allergies, her oral surgeon felt it was necessary to test prior to the extraction. The doctor refused to perform any allergy testing citing false negatives and that the preservatives were the major concerns with allergic reactions. All valid reasons but as an 18 year old girl who is learning to navigate her own medical appointments, it was confusing. She was following the orders of her oral surgeon and being met with resistance from the allergist. When my daughter became understandably upset and confused, he dismissed her concerns and told her she had an "undiagnosed anxiety disorder." This was condescending, dismissive, and completely out of line. A doctor should never weaponize mental health language to shut down a patient who they have never seen as a patient and have no background to any medical information. My daughter called me from the parking lot, very upset that she was labeled like that. I spoke with the office and expressed my frustration with how she was treated and what would potentially be documented in her medical record. I advised that he omit his documentation of an "undiagnosed anxiety disorder" as this was not what her appointment was to address. The office quickly called my daughter back and asked if it was ok to rewrite the letter that she had received. My daughter said yes of course because she was upset that he had put something like that in her record. When she received the new letter, it stated that she had procedural anxiety. Most people have this but this was another passive aggressive way to keep the anxiety documentation in her record. Before closing this review, I will tell you that I DO NOT have them confused with any other practice (this is the typical response to a bad review in the reviews). I strongly advise others to look elsewhere!

Last year, he also…read morediagnosed me for LPR and prescribed Prilosec, but you can only take it for two weeks at a time. In my opinion, he does not have a great bedside manner and lacks empathy for his patients. He comes off as self-important and smug during visits, which always feel rushed. Last Fall, I decided to start allergy shots, which is a huge commitment of time (two office visits per week for several months). After the first shot, I almost fainted. Dr. Waggoner said I had an involuntary vasovagal reaction and it may or may not happen each time I get a shot. I let him know I could not continue, never knowing if I'd be able to drive myself home. He did not even return my call after this episode, a nurse did and told me he was transferring responsibility for the Prilosec to my primary care physician. Yet still, I returned for my annual checkup a couple of weeks ago. It happened to coincide with recovering from a respiratory virus and I was wheezing. I also had a throbbing ear ache and when he looked in my right ear, he said I had a "foreign body" in there. He asked me if I used Q-tips, laughed, and mocked me. I said yes, I use them to clean the outside of my ear. He told me I would need to make an ENT appt. to have it removed. Two days later, I went to see my primary care and they flushed my right ear. They easily removed a bit of ear wax smaller than the size of a popcorn kernel. I called the office and asked if I could switch to a different doctor in their practice, but was told no, "it's against their policy." This is terrible customer service and this policy does not serve patients well. I was told I could leave a message for the Office Manager and they'd call me back. It's been over a week and no return call. I will not be going to this practice in the future. They treat you like a number and try to steer everyone towards allergy shots.
