She truly did not miss a single muscle area from head to toe. Moreover, I asked for a deep tissue massage and she went DEEP. She especially did some amazing work on my right shoulder, which I requested. Moreover, apart from working on my requested area, she also did wonders in tensed areas that I did not even know needed some work. I had a great message there very friendly and tranquil environment. So I called back a few months later but was unable to book it because I would not leave my credit card info on file. I explained I was a victim of identity thief and was uncomfortable doing this. I was willing to pay in advance I know they want to protect themselves if people don't show up. This review is purely for the float tank aspect of this business. tl:dr - worth a try but it won't be for everyone. I was excited to give floating a try, it's supposed to be very therapeutic for joints and I have a bad knee. I also was excited to experience near sensory deprivation. The reality is a little jarring. If there are levels to relaxing, basic is whatever you do when you relax. Intermediate would include massage, yoga, guided meditation. Advanced would include non-guided meditation. Expert level would be floating. I say this to mean that if you're not good at relaxing, jumping up to expert level will likely result in the opposite of relaxation. At least that was my experience. You put your earplugs in, shower, turn out the outer lights, get in the tank that has less than a foot of lukewarm salt water. I'd describe the temperature like if you got in a bath after someone else got out, then sat there for an hour. Not very warm, only got cooler from there, such that my feet were cold by the end. There's no sound unless you plug in your phone (or other device that uses an aux plug to transmit sound). There's an inner light you can change colors of or turn off. I turned mine off. Then you just put on your neck pillow and float for 60 or 90 minutes. I lasted 42 minutes before I had to get out. So, how do my failings at being able to let go and relax for 60 minutes with no stimulae translate into a 3-star review? I have to believe the establishment is partly responsible for my experience. They have to know that getting into a float tank and just being for an hour isn't easy for everyone, in spite of their literature espousing the benefits for all. There are no accommodations for beginners. If you want relaxing music, nature sounds, or guided meditation, bring it yourself. Unfortunately you're not aware that may be a thing until you're immersed, by then it's too late. There are no 30 minute options so you can try it, ease into it, up your relaxation game to expert before going for the full 60. Also, if you've looked into sensory deprivation before, you know people can have odd experiences with it, but the employee I spoke to after seemed to care not one whit that I'd had an adverse experience. In the end, knowing what to expect could go a long way to upping the satisfaction gained from floating, so here's that info and I hope you enjoy your float. read more

You know when you get to that point in winter when you'd give anything to escape for a soak in warm, salty, turquoise water? We've discovered that you can do just that (and top it off with a massage) right here on the Shoreline. Tranquil Balance, a center for floatation and massage therapy, is tucked inside a "professional building" (precisely the name above the front door), behind CVS at Flanders Four Corners. Take the stairs to the second floor; the oasis awaits behind Suite 213. I booked the decadent Float/Massage package. Upon arrival, and with a bit of instruction from the sweet staff, I dropped my clothes in the private changing room, sealed my ears with gummy plugs, had a rinse in the tile shower, and slipped into the steamy float room. Your sanctuary is filled with 11 inches of 93.5 degrees water and 1000 lbs of pharmaceutical grade Epsom salts. You're completely buoyant so you can fully relax every muscle in your body. This therapy is known as sensory deprivation or REST (restricted environmental stimulation therapy). I started the session in the silky, salty water with the usual chattering mind. "Did I put the milk away? Are the bills paid? How long have I been here? Wait, what is my cue to get out of here?!" Eventually, there was nothing left to do but completely surrender and sink into the delicious weightlessness. I was so blissed out that I missed the signal (a white light comes on) at the end of the session! After a refreshing shower to rinse off the salt, I slipped into a white, fluffy robe and headed into a massage room for what turned out to be a heavenly hot stone massage. A glass of cooling mandarin, grapefruit and mint infused water was offered at the end of my treatment. If you're looking for a mid-winter mind escape, you'll find it here. I left feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to make this routine a ritual. Good to know: There is an emergency button to alert the staff if you need help. A float pillow for your neck is at the ready in the room. Much to my surprise, I was unable to fully relax my neck and this helped. Also, if this helps if you'd prefer to keep your ears above water. A washcloth hangs off to the side in case you have an itch on your face. It's important not to touch your face with salty hands. The shower is stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Bring your own brush and deodorant. Don't shave the day of the float session. read more

They withdrew money from my checking account without permission and without making sure I knew, 50% for a missed appointment. I had a fantastic float experience here. The whole place was calm and serene. I was given very clear instructions (which were still helpful, even though I've floated elsewhere before). The whole room was lovely and the float tank was great. I splurged on a 90-minute float and it was the perfect amount of time for my body and brain to relax. The only tiny downside is that since it's located in an office complex, a few times I could hear murmurs of a conversation in another office (I think the water amplified the sound, I only heard it when I was floating). It was indistinct and didn't last long. Overall, I had a great float experience here. I would recommend it to friends and would be happy to go again. read more

My fiancé and I go to tranquil Balance for couples massage. They are absolutely great! The price is very reasonable and the staff is phenomenal. My last massage was done by Amanda. I can't rant and rave about her enough! We discussed my back pain and the muscle spasm I had in my back muscles. She took her time on my back and used the perfect pressure. The only complaint I had was that it ended after and hour and I didn't do two hours! Hands down I recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating massage. read more

I decided to Treat Yo Self for my birthday and came in to try the float therapy and to have a 90 minute hot stone massage. This was my first time ever trying float therapy and I have to say it was pretty great. I had a half a second moment of panic because I have serious issues with tubs because I feel like they're always dirty but I pushed past my own hangups and it was really fun. The water and air were both so warm, which was great, but then it was making my nose a little stuffy. I cracked the door, as they had mentioned at the start, which helped but after a time it felt like it was then too cool in there. But it was also the end of my time so it worked out ok. When they booked my appointment they gave me the perfect amount of time in between to allow me to shower off the salt. I think that next time I will bring my own shampoo and conditioner. I find I don't love the ones spas offer and my scalp is dry normally so after the Epsom, I really needed extra moisture to keep the flakes at bay. Christine was my massage therapist and she was really great. The stones were the perfect temperature and I was so totally relaxed by the end I nearly fell asleep. As I was checking out they offered that I could use the relaxation room where there were mandala coloring books. I also had brought my book in case I had down time in-between appointments. I didn't take her up on the offer but it was great to know it was an option if you want more of the "day spa" feel. All in all, it was a great place, all of the staff were helpful and friendly. This spa was recommended by a friend and I must say that I had an incredible experience. Tucked down the hall in an office building, I was greeted warmly by the masked desk attendant, filled out the appropriate COVID forms and was escorted to the first part of my journey, the salt water immersion tank. I have never experienced this and it was quite skeptical about its therapeutic benefits but after about 5 minutes in I found myself floating weightlessly and feeling completely relaxed. I imagine it's the closest thing to being back in the womb. When I got out, I took a shower, put on my robe and was escorted to part two, the massage portion. Now, I must say that I love massages and am always on the lookout for the perfect one. I think I found it. Kat, my masseuse was absolutely amazing. Gentle yet powerful. She found all my stress points and was able to work out the knots in a way that I have never experienced. She took her time, didn't rush, and really cared about my well being as we went on. I've been here twice now. The first time was a few months ago for a float. That is something I think everyone should experience, unless you are claustrophobic. I actually was able to fall asleep for a little bit. It was very relaxing. They have music that you can control and lights which you can have off completely, on as a light show, or constantly on. The second time, I made an appointment for a massage. 60 minute deep tissue. They always seem to go by way faster then you'd like, but still very relaxing. Alesha was very friendly and nice. She did a great job working the kinks out of my shoulder which I told her was my problem area. I like that she kept asking how I was doing, if something was too hot for my liking. I have recommended this place to so many friends and my husband and I will definitely be returning. The front desk staff are very friendly and the office is very cute.
