Michael Borbridge painted our house with his crew in 2001. It still looks really terrific as they spent considerable time sanding and priming the redwood exterior and then were quite careful in applying just the right amount of paint. Those are the basics...but the stunning part was the dramatic change that the house (ranch-style) made from blaaahhhish pink to stunning green on green. With a purple door, brown eaves and cream window sashes. All chosen by Michael who *does* know his colors! At the time, we were the only green house in the neighborhood. Now every other house is a similar color. Imitation being (I've heard) a form of flattery. Next time we paint...I'm asking Michael to do it in orangy-mango. With purple trim. And a mural by the*Sniff* brothers on the southside of the house by the street. We'll see *who* copies who!!! Truly as good as it gets! I cannot say enough good things about quality of the paint job and professionalism of the Bridge painting crew! Michael, Jose and team really know their craft. Prep, prep, prep and then make sure you've prepped! Jose and his team prepped our raw stucco exterior by washing, killing mold, sealing, patching, priming and finally painting. They didn't take any short cuts, kept me in the loop the whole time and were honestly a pleasure to have around....I kinda miss them! They were timely, cleaned up after themselves every day, assisted me with color choice, and most importantly they did an A+ job! We had several neighbors walk by and comment on the professionalism. I have used Bridge Painting twice in 17 years. Both times I obtained estimates from other companies. Most recently, I selected Bridge from 4 total bids to paint the interior of my house. It was a big job with multiple colors selected for various walls. They were in the middle pricing wise and I had great experience when they painted the exterior of my other house, so I choose to go with Bridge. I think the exterior of my last house still looks great after all these years! The crew was very punctual, neat and polite. I always came home to a clean house. Michael Borbridge the owner checked in frequently to make sure I was happy. He also suggested painting a wooden hand rail to match the iron hand rails which now looks awesome. He saved me about $1500 to replace it with wrought iron. I am so happy with the new look of my house. Love the colors and the quality of the painting. I had cracks in some walls and ceilings and they did a great job fixing those. They also were able to correct a spot on the ceiling that was left over from a leak with the former owners. Michael worked with me to make sure it was not still an active leak and then recommended the right fix to keep the bubbling from reappearing. read more

I called there office 3 times to schedule a quote before getting a call back and when I finally reached them they were abrupt in telling me they were too busy to even give a quote. She said we are booked for summer and can't give new bids til Next summer. I asked if I could get the bid and plan on having the work done next summer she refused saying our prices will go up so no! I said I'd buy my own paint say said no. They are too small town to know how to plan ahead or to accommodate future customers on a location that will attract more business. Bridge Painting painted our house some years ago, and they did an amazing job. The prep work is key on a paint job, and it's the hardest part. They spent most of the time prepping. The paint job lasted for years. When, almost three years later, the wood trim needed some touch-ups, they came out and did it for free. I would definitely hire them to do my next paint job. They are one of the few contractors I recommend without hesitation (if you can afford them - they are not the cheapest painters out there because they do quality work). We contracted with Bridge Painting to have our house painted earlier this summer (2021). They are efficient, reliable, honest, and perhaps one of the hardest working companies in the Bay Area. Michael, the company owner, was on site every day to check the work and respond to our questions. Jose and fellow painters Fernando and Alfredo were friendly and punctual and exacting in their work, going the extra mile to repair extensive damage to some parts of the house. Our 1920s era home needed exterior painting as the effect of the sun and the elements had taken their toll, and left our house looking a bit tired. The stucco paint had faded and the paint on the wood was peeling. We obtained bids from three painters who had been recommended by Yelp and other resources, and interviewed all painters. We had Michael Borbridge of Bridge Painting do our work. His company had done two or three other homes on our street over the years, and the other paint jobs had held up quite well. Michael's bid was competitive. Now that the project is done, we are very pleased with the work and have no hesitation in recommending Bridge Painting to others. The key to a quality paint job is surface preparation, and Michael's crew did a workmanlike and complete job of removing all old paint from our wood siding, windows, and trim, sanding all surfaces, and carefully painting the entire home. There is one remaining issue that involves water migration through a retaining wall that cannot be addressed immediately because of the weather, and Michael is following up on the matter in a responsible and practical manner. I must take a moment and recommend Abel, the job foreman and Alfredo E, one of the primary painters. One of our neighbors made it a point to mention that we should have Abel supervise the project, and they were right. Abel showed great attention to detail, and made sure at the end of each day, without exception, all equipment was put away and the job site was clean. Alfredo E. was one of the primary painters on the job, and he was on time, diligent, neat, and through. This was a major project and the work progressed smoothly throughout. After seeing how well the prep work was done, I understand now why previous paint jobs on our house didn't last. We got compliments on the prep work from people just walking by the house, as well as neighbors. They repaired, filled, primed, and sealed for a couple of weeks before even beginning to paint. Now that the paint is on, with the beautiful finishes, our house looks stunning. The guys who did the work, primarily Jose, Alfredo and Guzman were very enjoyable to have around, always available for questions and concerns. They took great pains to inform us on what they were doing. They did a complete cleanup, not just when they were all done, but at the end of each day's work. No shortcuts, no compromise on quality. Michael and his crews are amazing. They do the right cleaning and prep and take care great care of their customers. They painted our house quite a few years ago and have been wonderful about coming back and doing touch ups after renovations we made to the house. Matching the paint they had used before, you can't tell where the renovations were made. They show up on time, do their work and clean up after they are finished. The pre-paint preparation these guys do is AMAZING. They are meticulous, conscientious and their attention to detail is wonderful. They scraped and sanded, sanded and scraped, and gave my house with its blistering, peeling paint new life. I run my hands over my front sills when I come home because they are now smooth as silk. I know what it takes to do a good job because I like to paint my own interiors. These guys didn't do a good job, they did a great job. I had them paint the entire exterior of my stucco house, which hadn't been painted in 20++ years. The house now sparkles! More importantly, the crew took care of stucco cracks and holes (believe me I inspected their work every day), so the house is sealed against rain and moisture. I feel like I can grow old now. This past year I've been renovating my 1926 house (maybe that's why I feel old?!). I've dealt with many contractors. It has not always been easy. In contrast, it was a pleasure dealing with Michael, the owner. He touched bases almost daily, coming by the house or calling, answering questions, addressing any concerns, working with my schedule and others workers whom I had hired. He is also a hoot! His sincerity in doing a good and thorough job and emphasizing customer satisfaction is transmitted to his crew, who take pride in their work. They are also gracious and polite. Led by foreman, Jose, they are pros. While Bridge Painting wasn't the cheapest quote, they weren't the most expensive either. I chose Bridge Painting because of the outstanding Yelp reviews, had heard about their commitment to quality and saw their signs all over my neighborhood. Bridge Painting did a fabulous job on our mid-century stucco and wood home. Our home hadn't been painted in over 15 years and the old paint was peeling and the stucco had cracks. Their prep work was so thorough! Our home needed to be power washed, the cracks repaired, and a sealant applied prior to the actual painting. They meticulously sanded all our windows prior to applying the primer and the paint. Jose Gonzalez, the foreman of this very talented crew, pointed out a few areas that had suffered dry rot and directed the carpenter to fix those areas prior to painting. His attention to detail is impeccable. He and his crew are efficient, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. Our house looks brand new! We just had Bridge painting come back to do some interior work on our kitchen, laundry, and breakfast room after doing some exterior and interior work a few years earlier. I like how they work. We were able to schedule them in the calendar "window" that worked best. They start at 8:00, show up early, but give us our personal space until the appointed hour, and then really go to work. They are clean, meticulously so. If I'd even begin to fault them for taking an extra day or so to finish, I'd have to stop myself, asking "what better way to expend the time?" It really takes this effort for a complete and thorough job, and that is their priority. Jose is considerate and attentive, and touched up a few things that needed it, some of which were discussed before, some not. It all felt aimed toward quality and satisfaction rather than "getting the job done". They take pride in their work and that is really satisfying. And if we can talk baseball and music along the way, so much the better! read more

I have hired Bridge Painting a few times over the past two decades to paint two houses inside and out as well to do some work on the building in which I have my store. They have always been prompt, professional, and reasonably priced (which is why I keep going back to them) but my most recent experience with them exceeded all reasonable expectations, and left my jaw hanging open at the superior quality of their work. I have been prepping my house to sell, and brought Bridge in to touch up the paint job they did a decade ago. The work had to be done quickly, and there were problems in the house with some wall damage from a tenant and some wood rot. They scheduled a time within the same week I called, and had all the work completed within two days. What's more, the wood rot was removed and repainted, the wall damage was repaired, and all of it was virtually undetectable. The painting touchups were similarly perfect, and the painters left behind no spots, no splotches, not even a footprint on the floor. In particular the manager, Jose Gonzales, was remarkable: low key, soft spoken, but clearly on top of every detail. This company is in fact scrupulous about getting the details and fine points right, as if their work is the result of a severe case of OCD! As if this was not enough, they came in UNDER BUDGET! They were such a pleasure to work with, I only wish I had more things that needed painting. read more

I called for a quote last year and was declined because it was supposedly too close to the start of the rains to do the job. I called this year (end July) and was declined a quote because it was too early for next year since they couldn't assure the price would be right for then. I explained that I need an estimate to financially plan for a job that would probably be in the $15-20,000 range. The woman I spoke with rejected my proposal that they write in the COLA adjustment by a certain percentage for next year or to write in how long the quote would be good for as other companies do. Not helpful. Bridge has "valued" themselves out of the market. I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

It's true that this company can be a bit flaky. When I had my house painted, the start of rainy season really delayed the project and the owner seemed to forget about me. The painters power washed my house then didn't come back for three weeks. Once the workers finally started I felt like the job took FOREVER. The slow pace was definitely getting frustrating. BUT...the work the crew did was amazing. They patched up some stucco near the foundation and made the house look brand new. They sealed all the cracks and worked meticulously on preparing every surface for painting. Bridge Painting did very high quality work at a pretty reasonable price. All the care that went into the prep work really shows in the end product. Two and a half years later the house still looks freshly painted. So to sum it up, if you have the patience to deal with a slow crew and a sometimes overwhelmed owner, you will be rewarded with an outstanding paint job at a very good price. read more
