I guess this place was recently taken over and is no longer LA Road thrift . Prices are significantly higher, items that used to be $6-10 are now $15-$30. Jackets as high as $70 and almost nothing under $9 for clothes. Forever 21 and Ross/Marshall's are now cheaper than damaged items at the thrift that need reworking at home to be wearable/usable. Despite the big price increase still no fitting room and they don't discount damaged items. No more loyalty program and same bad return policy. Asked to get a $17 dress discounted due to a large snag/several minor stains at the bottom as I would have to pay to have it altered to hide the damage and they said "we price everything correctly." It was double the price of designer slacks so clearly they don't but you can still find steals at the previous price point if you dig as they have not relabeled their entire inventory. Still a great spot for glasses and dish ware but you're better off at goodwill or even Depop as the prices here have gone way up. read more

The selection here is hit or miss but it's fairly well organized and I have found some gems in the past when it was LA Road. They need to work on pricing though. Charging $5 for a used kids' Target or Old Navy T-shirt that you can buy NEW for $3? Come on! Not exactly "helping the community." Gotta say, not exactly happy with the new ownership. They even got rid of the fitting rooms and the books promo. BOO! read more

So far my favorite thrift store to shop at. On the smaller size for a thrift store which is perfect for me because I can overwhelmed in larger spaces. Well organized and staff are friendly. Went in to this store in a generally horrible mood as well as underwhelmed by Glendales thrift stores. An hour later (and moments before closing I checked out with five pairs of pants a body suit a poncho (flowy vesty thing?) and a pair of converse for under $40. Adam introduced himself to me by name and I overheard him remembering other guests names from the one other time they'd visited. Can class meet a thrift store? This store answers: yes. If everything I've purchased is not brand new I'd be shocked because if the condition. WOULD recommend but as long as you aren't in there snatching things up before I can get to them! Place is bomb. Best friendly staff. The most Clean & organized thrift store we've ever been in. Thrifting is my thing. When my 18 yr old niece visiting from Massachusetts asked me to take her thrifting, I was delighted!! Due to covid, and being after 3pm in La, I didn't want to venture out to my usual spots on melrose or in Burbank to be disappointed with limited time, so I turned to Google and Yelp to check reviews and hours of operation and I'm so glad I found this place!! Stress free parking for free99. There is a sign on the door that says Masks are required for ALL customers including vaccinated. (today is 6/23/2021) We were bummed about the signage but decided since we made the drive to suck it up. The friendly staff offered us masks as we walked in. Place is a gem. Within the first few minutes I found gold. We hit about 4 more thrift stores after this one, none comparing in selection, price, organization or lack of weird old ppl clothes. Looking forward to returning soon. read more

This review is for the donation process only. Donation drop-off is located behind the store and there are signs posted to stay in your car. The gentleman took the donations from my car was wearing a mask and gloves, it was a very safe and easy process. Plus, he offered me a coupon/receipt if I wanted to leave my name & e-mail info. The store operates 100% on donations, so please think about donating your used items here instead! read more

This store use to be great, but they have jacked up their prices so much it's ridiculous. I no longer want to even donate my goods here because of the price gauging. Charging 64.99 for a pair of used boots, or 74.99 for used bikes is unacceptable. The list goes on with other items. read more

Very solid thrift store for furniture and clothes! I find myself out this way quite a bit and like that they keep their best furniture in the front window (plus a lot of patio type stuff fenced in outside) so I can gauge whether or not I want to stop in. I'm not a huge used clothes shopper myself (no issue with it, just don't have the patience), but they do have a really good selection of men's and women's clothes here. My fiancé and I love coming to thrift shops to sort through the record and book selections, and I can't say this is our favorite shop for that. The aren't a ton of records here (although we did buy a couple 45s last time we were in) and while there are a good number of books, nothing has ever really caught my eye. My absolute favorite part of this shop (and why I think it's somewhat of a hidden gem) is their little vintage shop outside on the fenced in patio. It's basically a garage with really rad, actually vintage (not just used) pieces. Think small furniture, one of a kind clothes, and tchotchkes for your home. They're higher priced than the rest of the shop, but still cheaper than what you'd find at a lot of boutique-y spots around LA. Don't miss it whole you're here! read more

Love this store!!! Great spot to shop vintage! Handbag and shoe selection isn't great for vintage shoppers but they have an amazing area outside they call their Boutique. EVERYTHING in there is true vintage. I fell in love. Perfectly set up and well curated. Prices are low and reasonable. Definitely a must-stop if you're in the area. read more

Omg so this store in the front has clothes high up. My neck was hurting from having to reach up and look through the shirts. The dresses are deeper in the store near the kids stuff. As an avid and experienced thrifter, I can say that this place charges consignment store prices instead of thrift shop prices. Example $9.99 for a no brand sweater, $7.99 tees. However, the selection does not reflect a consignment shop. Only plus is the kind staff. Nevertheless, don't think i'll be visiting this thrift store again. read more

Came by with a HUGE bag of donations & two chairs just before 4pm. I checked their hours on their website, stated they'd be open until 5pm for donations. When I got there the donation center was closed, the sign they had hanging said 10am- 2pm. Disappointed I came all the way there & couldn't leave my items. Pet peeve is businesses not updating their hours or just making it up as they please. read more

But, trust me you haven't been to Goodwill until you've been to THE Goodwill: the mecca, the compound, the Palace Versailles of Goodwill in Glassel Park/Atwater adjacent near the San Fernando/Fletcher intersection (by the historic Van de Kamps building). This is just not any Goodwill: this is the SoCal hub of all things Goodwill. Let's get into it... If you've lived in Los Angeles for some time, you will recall this plot of commercial space formally being a Kmart (fun fact: my first job from age 16-21 was at a Kmart. Kmart forever!). Kmart (under Sears Holdings) are now a blip in retail history but the massive building has a new life as the Goodwill Outlet complex. Glowing like heaven's gates with choirs singing in a gigantic parking lot; this Goodwill complex holds, essentially, several businesses in one and serves as a Goodwill hub in the SoCal area. One side of this former Kmart now hold Goodwill's E-Commerce corporate center (not open to public) where Goodwill coordinates its website sales and on re-sell sites like Ebay. Did you know they sell online? Now you know! Next to the E-Commerce port is the Goodwill Outlet. This is where all the other local Goodwills send their overstock clothing donations or those that don't make the cut to sell in their stores; that are then gathered in large blue bins and sold at $3.19/pound. Imagine a large warehouse room with bins filled to the rim and people digging through piles like they are trying to reach gold at the bottom. There is no rhyme or reason to organization as it doesn't exist: men's, women's, children's... all in one bin. The Goodwill Outlet isn't for everyone as admittedly the clothing looked gross to me. I even saw pair of large tighty-whity men's underwear that looked like it was used as toilet paper for a cyclospora bathroom episode. I browsed with my eyes versus hands; but many of the other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves so it all depends your preferences. Next to the outlet is the main Goodwill retail store in the manner everyone is familiar. This location is wayyyyyy nicer than most, though. The space is large and in charge and super clean with shiny floors and tidy with organization (mostly). It also had some wonderful finds (as least in the women's clothing department) but - it is much too overpriced for a Goodwill. The majority of the clothing ran in the teens price-wise ($10 +). Um, excuse me? No. I am not paying $15.99 for an old dress. Another complaint is that unlike other Goodwill stores; shoes were not designated by men's, women's and children's and all dumped together as were household goods and these were also quite overpriced (a small tiny fake succulent the size of a thumb was $5.99). The prices are wild but I suppose worth it if you find something golden and special. Have some donations for those tax deductions? The former Kmart Garden Center now serves as the donation drop off but they only take into the early afternoon or until they fill up for the day so be mindful. This Goodwill megaplex is the Sofi Stadium of Goodwills holding the E-Commerce center, Outlet, traditional retail space and donation drop off; and is worth a visit whether you are making a donation, want to scour the outlet bins or shop in a large, clean retail space (although overpriced).

There is a good selection of stuff but, as with all thrifting, check your stuff first for damages. Two things I wanted to purchase were damaged so I gave them to the employee instead. She was so sweet, apologizing for it even though it obviously is not her fault. The prices were as expected and I bought a couple of things. I recommend shopping here.

I did notice a slightly awkward interaction between an older female employee and another customer browsing near the VHS/DVD and jewelry counter. The employee called out "next," which made it seem like she thought the customer was ready to check out. When the customer didn't respond right away, the employee called out louder to get her attention kinda sounded annoyed. The customer looked a little caught off guard and replied that she was just browsing before continuing to look around. It was a bit of an odd moment, but when that same employee ended up checking us out, everything went smoothly and we had no issues. Overall it was a fun thrifting trip and I'd definitely come back again. Next time I want to spend more time exploring the clothing section!

We walked in an hour before their closing time and were helped by 2 of their employees. Without saying anything, they welcomed me and my clothes with open hearts and open hands. They were very nice, polite and helpful. This is a fairly new store/donation center. I have been to other Salvation Army stores in other areas throughout the years. We didn't really browse inside the store since we didn't need anything. However, the store was nice, clean, well organized and a lot of things to choose from. Clothes, shoes, accessories, scarfs and more.. Parking in the back, but we parked on the side street. Thank you Salvation Army Thrift Stores & Donation Centers all around the nation for your dedication, contribution, help, and loyalty. Next time if and when I need to donate some more stuff, I will choose this location over the other ones that I have been to!!

This place is not big but they do have a wide range of stuff. You can find some vintage items too. I'm cheap so this place to me is a little pricey but its still a place id recommend if you have money to spend. The employee's there are usually super nice and friendly. read more

Parking is always available in the mornings in their parking lot but might get full in the afternoon so you'll have to park on the street. Staff is constantly cleaning aisles and are helpful when asked for information. A must try thrift store!
