    My favorite weekend shop!

The Attic is a well curated vintage spot for clothing accessories, hats, literature, vintage mags, electronics, home goods and so much more. Everything is quality and will outlast the fast fashion of today. Marta the owner has impeccable taste and it is truly a best kept secret, that I am happy to share. I have resorted to telling everyone I know about this spot because support small businesses, right..

This black owned business is my favorite place to thrift. Marta the owner is really sweet and gave me a quarter for parking so I could try on this beautiful dress I got for $6. It was also 95 degrees today and she gave me a cold water. Very good vibes and great finds. I recommend.

I love The Attic! Marta the owner is a lovely, creative and powerful woman. She has created the perfect vintage and pre owned, local, eco shopping spot in LA! Prices are fair and her stock offers a wide variety of selection, in sizing abs style. In-joys and tell her SuzE Q sent you! (Photos are from a video, so they are a little blurry)

Vintage mirror/brush also a small dish I use to hold rings

The best vintage finds! My new favorite place to thrift in la and better yet the owner Marta is as sweet as can be and super helpful! Found everything I need to finish decorating my new room! Check out the attic!

Too pricey this shop... a vhs tape was like $18! You can get a vhs tape for like a dollar online on eBay

I generally spend more time in housewares when I go to to Goodwills, so that what I focus one more. You will almost always be able to find a complete set of dishes, silverware and the like for a group of four or more here. And the quality control generally seems very good. I've seen almost no chipping or significant damage on any of these items. There is always a significant amount of tech available: lots of computer monitors, speakers and the like. Also plenty of electrical housewares like lamps, toasters and such. There is rarely anything really special or unique here. Perhaps I simply don't go enough. I tend in every two weeks or so, and in that time period there's plenty of new stuff. But I feel like this is a store where if you want to find the really special stuff, you have to go almost daily. I will say, in general, with Goodwill, if you want to find the interesting stuff for a bargain, check out the stores in wealthier neighborhoods. You get a lot of people dropping off rather nice things, but fewer people shopping at them. This Goodwill will is in an area where people are doing as much shopping as dropping. It's got a large working class environment, and, as such, it ends up meeting the needs of those people. When I visited the one in Woodland Hills (right next to Calabasas), it was like shopping at a Marshalls, where everything was in the clearance section (this is a good thing). So, useful, but unlikely to provide exciting finds.

The front of the store showcases a great selection of clothing in amazingly good shape. Along the walls and on a large table were some glassware and kitchen items. As I looked back, large lettering that spelled out FURNITURE directed me to the rear of the store. I took a couple steps in, then quickly went back to grab the husband. We spent most of our time looking through every inch of this room. There was so much to appreciate in the beautiful handcrafted solid wood furniture and in all the lovely decorative pieces. The nostalgia was wonderful. We've been on the hunt to complete a mid-century wrought iron patio set we found at Pasadena Flea Market. The Lucky Pig didn't have what we needed today, but I suspect we may find it on another day, so we'll be back!

Then later around 3pm I happened to be driving by and they looked open, so I figured I'd give it another try. The doors were locked and said to ring the doorbell, after ringing it twice the owner finally decided to get up and open it only to tell me that I cannot come in because the store is "by appointment only". The store was completely empty, yet she wouldn't let me in. I went to this store because I saw a review on Vintage Vortex's page that said Vintage Vortex sucks, and to go to Cherry-pick because it is so much better. Well, after being turned away from Cherry-pick I went back to that review and realized that the lady in the profile pic is the lady who answered the door...the review was made by the owner of this store.
