With our waitress Kylie's recommendation, we ordered the oysters & the bone marrow tartar and absolutely loved every morsel of those apps. My family is still raving about them two days later. For our entrees, we ordered the Morel Mushroom Tagliatelle, a cheeseburger, Gumbo, and the Seabreem. Well each thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. Suchhhh a cool place!! A really great range of prices there are racks of 2 for $16 (something around there) and other nicer vintage clothing items for $20-30. Everything from hats to scarves to purses and leather jackets lingerie books tea cups etc. There are soooo many cool trinkets and decor everywhere I loved it. It's like a cool estate sale with lots of variety! As for COVID precautions, they provided hand sanitizer at the front of the shop but I think that's about it. They are accepting cash payments from when I was there but they also take card. Only one other person there when I went :) read more

Love it here! There's not many black-owned thrift stores so I was excited to visit this one and I wasn't disappointed!

Wow. What an incredible experience I had at The Attic today! My boyfriend and I were entranced by how cute and well curated everything was! LOTS of really good stuff and lots of authentic vintage. It's also got an excellent bag selection lol. Everything was surprisingly well priced for a resale boutique. I feel like I could have spent so much more time in the store because of how much was inside. The vibes were so welcoming with the instrumental music playing and the kindhearted owner Marta! This is one of my all time favorite vintage stores. The owner is a very sweet funny lady named Marta who always goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Most importantly she has impeccable taste! She somehow finds the coolest, most original, special gems! I have gotten so many of my favorite things here. Just make sure you allow yourself enough time because every nook and cranny is packed with stuff so it's really fun to look at everything to make sure you don't miss any treasures. I've found my new obsession! I stumbled upon this place by chance and ended up spending almost 2 hours here and could have easily been there for 2 more. My photos do not do this store justice. The entrance to it is through the café next door and believe me when I tell you this place is a diamond in the rough. There is something for everyone here, lots of which is not pictured. There's a rack of baby clothes and books, women's and men's clothing, pajamas, hats & leather belts, tons of blankets, and lots of cute & delicate home decor and so much more. It's obvious that everything here is hand picked. There are so many good finds for very reasonable prices. While the space is small, it is very aesthetically appealing and everything I imagine a vintage store to be. Marta, the owner is also one of the most genuine people I've met. She is so sweet and passionate about what she does. Check the attic out & grab a coffee from next door while you're there! But while I was shopping and I had actually picked up something's I wanted to buy the lady working for the store told me that if I were to continue being on the phone (my phone-I was talking to a friend I haven't seen in a while) then I had to leave???? My little sister came here today and was so excited! She loved so many things here and saw a lot of stuff that she knew I'd like as well, so she was sending me some pictures as I am chronically ill and was unable to go in with her today due to my pain. She was planning on purchasing some items. She was really enjoying herself and even texted me about how kind the woman running it was. The woman told her to feel free to try stuff on and to holler if she needed anything. My sister was there for 20 minutes before the woman suddenly shifted and asked her why she was taking photos. My sister explained that she was taking photos for me, and even showed the woman our text chain. The woman kept going on about how she's trying to run a business and she can't have her taking photos and messing up the "flow" of her business, when there weren't even many other people in the shop. My little sister was voice recording at this point, and sent it to me. The woman asked my sister how long she was going to be there, and then asked her to leave. My sister was shocked and immediately FaceTimed me as she was leaving. She went outside, told me everything again and started to cry. She wasn't doing anything wrong, and was hurt that this woman would be so rude to her so suddenly. After explaining everything to our older sister and her boyfriend, he went into the shop and asked for an explanation. The owner told him that she has the right to discriminate, and that they "don't have to come here, you know." I am honestly shocked and disgusted with how this woman is treating her customers, especially after reading other reviews! We really liked some of the items in this shop, but it's simply not worth being profiled and being treated as if you're doing something wrong. The only reason this place deserves even one star is because of the merchandise available. read more

I just recently moved to LA and was really excited to go thrifting and check out the cute shops in Atwater Village. When I first walked into the Attic, I was welcomed and the owner and girl at the front desk both seemed very kind. The store was pretty quiet, there were only two other girls in the shop. I browsed at the front of the store for only a few minutes (not touching anything, just looking with my eyes). The owner told me I could try on anything and told me to feel free to ask for any assistance. I went to the back section when the other two girls left, and saw lots of stuff I liked. I was quiet and polite while shopping, and started to take pictures for my sister who I thought would like some of the items, thinking that maybe I could buy something for her. All the sudden the owner of the store comes up to me asking why I'm taking photos and how long am I going to be here. I explained to her that I was taking pictures for my sister and even showed her the texts. She ignored me and continued asking me repeatedly. She said that because it's Saturday she needs business to flow, which made no sense to me because I was the only person in the store at this point. She starts taking about covid and how she can't have people in her store, meanwhile she's not even wearing a proper mask or facial covering just a thin rag that was torn and see-through, offering no protection.. basically just making bad excuses trying to get me out of her store. I was properly wearing a disposable mask the entire time I was in there and I used hand sanitizer when I came in. I only took a few photos and was there for no more than 25 minutes. I was really shocked and upset because this had never happened to me prior. I had been respectful and caused no issues for someone to treat me like this. I cried when I left the store. I am a 17 year old darkskin black girl and seeing as the owner was a black woman herself, I didn't expect her to have any problems with me. When she did a complete 180, I realized that this easily could've been a case of colorism. I went to some similar shops on the same street and had no issues before this happened. If the owner doesn't want people to take photos, she should consider putting up a sign or telling people when they walk in. Beyond that, if she doesn't want customers shopping in her store, maybe she should consider doing online only. I hope she realizes how hurtful it can be to be treated the way she treated me today. read more

She opened the door and didn't say a word to me. I was there for maybe 15 mins looking over items and I got the vibe that she wanted me to leave by the way she would sigh every time I would look at something. Let me preface with the simple fact that I absolutely love vintage and thrift shopping. LA and particularly my neighborhood has wonderful options. This was my first official stop at The Attic. I was well dressed, polite, wore a mask. I was excited! I had a few questions which were adequately answered, but from the get, this woman at the counter (who claims she was a partial investor) was skittish, unfriendly and unfortunately wrongfully profiled me. Me, ' Hello, first time here, lovely items at fair prices.' Lady, ' thank you.' Ok. Fair. I spent a few more minutes looking and holding items I'd planned to buy, she DID NOT ask if she could hold onto anything or for any further help. I may have ended up spending $50-100 in there quite soon and comfortably. So here's the bummer: She said, 'sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave, I'm trying to run a business, you're 'Scouting.' I'm not sure what that means. Understanding that robbery does occur and she is sole 'security', I feel a bit for the woman. Maybe a hire a watchmen or get some cameras? If you assume every guest entering is a Thief, you've started a problem that has yet begun. Bottom line, I won't ever be back or recommend, and having worked for years in customer service can only advise the Attic, that if you're going to stick a paranoid, unfriendly dictator of a lady in your cute store, let her know you have a Business to run as well 2-10-21, 12 pm. read more

I came in to find a gift for a friend and she took the time to ask me what my friend was like and was able to suggest a few items. She also takes the time to clean her items, (I saw her wiping down some books and magazines). She tells you to "take your time" and to explore. I must have circled a thousand times.
