A fun spot tucked away from the downtown bustle with easy parking, a welcoming atmosphere, and truly phenomenal food. The menu is inventive, distinctive, and full of items you won't find everywhere else. Unfortunately, while we came in friendly and excited, several interactions felt a bit perfunctory rather than genuinely welcoming. The bathrooms could have been cleaner as well. A reminded me of going to breakfast with my grandparents to the fanciest breakfast place in the city. They take and pay extra attention to your knee and make sure that your food is exactly how you wanted it. I can't wait to try lunch or dinner here- I also want to check out this ice cream parlor esk situation but i am always too full from the generous portions. A childhood favorite when growing up in Rochester but they all closed many years ago except for the original in Duluth. Always good homestyle meals and breakfast is served ALL Day! Something about a place that serves breakfast all day. We ended up eating here twice during our 4-day stay. The table service is very good but boy could they use a new hostess! Both times it appeared she didn't want us to wait for a table? She just rubbed me the wrong way during both visits. I gave her the benefit of the doubt the first day as we all have bad days but she was the same way on visit 2! Once you are past her the visit was perfect! I ordered breakfast, Ron Swanson (All Meat) omelet, the first time and everything was cooked to order and had great taste and flavor. I opted for the Bucharoo Burger with FF. Great tasting burger and the onion rings were perfect! The French Fries were outstanding. As we left I noticed these personal sized pies. O'my! I ordered the banana cream and I know I will get flack for this, but it was better than Betty's Pies on the north shore! It was so good I asked a friend to bring me one home on her next trip. The restaurant appeared to look just as it did when it was opened....well maybe a 1970's remodel! It was a fun place to go and I would definitely return. I almost forgot! The ice cream. Now the Bridgemans in Duluth is the last open location. I had my regular order of a cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate malt. Delicious!! Service was good and the restaurant was clean. It used to be one of the best places to get pie. In fact we would at least once a week. Now the pie is horribly mushy and watery crust. And filling falling out of the side. When complained to manager instead of doing something about it he said to go someplace else.
