    The best!

I had the best "Not your father's root beer float" and delicious Portabella Shroom burger and fries.

    Sundae with extremely skimpy toppings.

I had high hopes, but unfortunately King of Creams ended up being deeply mediocre at best. On the plus side, service was prompt and friendly. On the negative side, the food was just...OK. Had a burger, cheese curds, and a sundae. The burger was on the dry and unseasoned side -- it was certainly edible, but it wasn't exciting at all. The curds were the same style I've encountered a few times now in Duluth -- square, with an almost pretzel-like breading. Zero cheese pull...the texture of the cheese was on the spongy, solid side rather than gooey. The sundae was probably the biggest disappointment. Ordered a medium sundae with hot fudge, caramel, and pecans. The toppings, whipped cream aside, were just skimpy. Think two scoops of ice cream with a drizzle of hot fudge (literally, drizzled from a squeeze bottle), 7-8 pecan halves, whipped cream, and a similar drizzle of caramel. Once you got past the scant toppings, it was just a container of ice cream. Price was high for the quality -- 1/2lb bacon cheeseburger, curds, a sauce, and a fountain soda was around $25 before tip. The sundae was another $7.50 or so for what amounted to a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Probably will not be back.

We came based off the reviews, and I was a bit let down. First, the pros. Service was good, the person taking our order was nice. It's a small and cozy shop, that was clean (including the restrooms). The food is made to order, so it comes out piping hot. The portions were good size, so we both left full. The con is the food was pretty bland. We are from the south, and a foodie city to boot, so heavily seasoned food is what we are used to. It was hard to pick up on any major flavors, which was a bummer.

Time and time again this King and Creams location is packed, for how little it is. But Today l noticed a different grill cook on the grill and I could tell the cashier/waitress was stressed about the orders that needed to get out then the grill cook I'm use to pops out and absolutely slays it in there, the line cook and grill cook didn't get upset at each other, they used communication, "ORDER 11,12,13", "here's your milkshake, sir." "Order 14, enjoy" (mine) as I walked out I put another tip in the jar cause I gave it some thought my 2$ tip split between 3 people... wasn't enough. Those cooks absolutely slayed in the kitchen and the food quality is excellent every time! Time and time again I love this place do not let the crowd scare you away. And the milk shakes they are worth it!

My sister says: "These are the best cheese curds I've ever had." I agree. We arrived just before one on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves. The food took a few minutes, but it was worth it because everything came out steamy and fresh. The fried pickles aren't the regular chips nor fried spears, but the long sliced versions. The breading is crispy and very thin; it all comes together perfect. I got a little more pickle flavor than normal because of the thin breeding, which was appreciated. I had the portables 'shroom burger and added onion. Sometimes a friend mushroom can end up soggy and dripping wet. None of that on this burger, though! My sister complained her portabellla shroom wrap was too heavy on the aioli mayo.

Looking for a good burger, we spotted this place on yelp. Empty when we walked in, it gave us time to take a look at the menu and ask a lot of questions. We all chose the burgers. You can choose from a 1/4 or 1/2 lb burger. If you look to the right of the menu, you'll see the combos available. We tried a combo with fries, onion rings, and fried pickles. Fresh cut fries were good. Fried pickles were sliced thinly. Very salty! Didn't dislike them, but they would have been so much better with less salt. The onion rings were yummy. Burgers were pretty good and come with condiments of your choosing that are available. Onions(raw or fried) pickles, tomatoes, mustard, mayo, and lettuce. The do charge extra for sauces and they don't let you know when they ask you if you want bbq or ranch. Was charged .50 each for ranch and bbq. Tried a local beer that I enjoyed as well. Great food and customer service. We'll try the ice cream, when it's not so cold.

Thank you Yelp for helping us decide where to go for dinner. Ambiance wasn't as nice, but the food made up for it. Cheesesteaks and Burgers hit the spot. Don't forget the aioli Mayo with your fries. Staff was friendly. Wait was short

I read a lot of reviews, but don't write many. King of Creams is deserving of the time to write a review. I've eaten burgers all over the world. Nothing beats a classic American burger. This is exactly what they deliver. They are know for their Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, but after eating the burger, I don't know that if ever make it to the Philly, the burger was that good. One of the best I've had in a while. The portions and pricing were great. We got the cheese curds. Very good, but not really my thing. The ice cream was also very good and reasonably priced. Should have only gotten one scoop instead of two. Well done King of Creams for impressing someone from out of town with a delicious burger!

Drinks, followed by poutine 5 minutes later, then food about 10 minutes after that. We were all done within 30 minutes! The food was fantastic, too. Delicious poutine, with oozy gooey squeaky cheese curds. I had the smoked fish salad; it had the right amounts of everything and felt like a distinctly Duluth dish. My husband had the fish and chips. I had a bite of his fish, and it was perfect, with great batter and flavor. I would happily come here again on a visit. I can see why this is a city institution.

When we arrived a bit after 7PM, we had quite some trouble finding parking and ended up having to park a couple of blocks away after circling for 20 minutes. Walking in, the place wasn't too busy, perhaps 50% capacity. We were interested in ordering the fried cheese curds, but the server told us they weren't battered in house, so we passed on them. Smoked Fish Salad (Market Price, $18.99) - This is a pretty salad - all ingredients are arranged in rows along the dish. Mixing things together is a bit of a pain, but I appreciate the dressing on the side to add to preference. The dressing is an interesting blend of mayo and other ingredients, perhaps BBQ sauce, that make it slightly tangy and very sweet. There's an undertone of smokiness throughout, which tastes somewhat like liquid smoke rather than the dressing actually being smoked. It is on the sweeter side of dressings. Other than greens, there's a row of wild rice, dark and snappy, completely broken cultivated rice. There's also a bit of house smoked trout, nice and smoky. (4/5) Classic Wild Rice Burger ($16.99) - This is one of the tallest burgers I've seen in quite a while, mostly due to the inclusion of fresh vegetables including onion and tomato, and alfalfa sprouts. For some reason instead of using larger tomatoes, they use small roma tomatoes, including three small slices. They also used red onion that's chopped into a variety of different shapes instead of whole slices. It's really strange - I guess this saves on cost? Unfortunately smaller pieces means things fall out while eating. The patty is larger than the bun. It has plenty of broken wild rice bits giving some additional crunch and that signature wild rice taste. It's charred on the griddle well and it keeps its structure, not falling apart or becoming mushy at any point. I love how it's distinctively a rice burger and doesn't try to be a meat substitute. Two slices of American cheese are melted on top that gives some fattiness to the dish. The bun is toasted without butter and there's a flavorful garlic mayo spread on the top. It would be nice if they had also applied the sauce to the bottom bun as I found the patty to not have enough moisture or fat incorporated. The burger comes with some thin commercial fries. There aren't any issues with the level of fry and they are otherwise unremarkable. (4/5) Fitger's Brewhouse serves some solid good old fashioned Midwestern American food. Not much else to say. Bathrooms - Larger ones shared with the rest of the business in the building Food: [4/5] Service: [ ] Other: [ ] Final Rating: 4/5

CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS Sweet and spicy soy glaze with sautéed red peppers and scallions. These were a little too heavy on the sauce for my liking, but otherwise very good. If you're not a fan of sweeter flavors, this one may not be for you. BUFFALO MAC & CHEESE Cavatappi pasta tossed in a creamy mac sauce, topped with crispy buffalo chicken, blue cheese crumbles, and onion straws. We added bacon and chicken, and this was a top pick for us! The buffalo sauce had the perfect balance--not overly spicy, but enough flavor to complement the creamy mac and cheese. CPB CO. FISH AND CHIPS Craft beer-battered haddock served with Northcoaster fries and house-made tartar sauce. Another top pick for us! The fish was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly fried. Honestly, one of the best fried fish dishes I've had in Minnesota. Unfortunately, I can't report on the beer as I'm not a big drinker...Sorry! The only small downside was that the Brussels sprouts were still a little undercooked for our taste, but everything else was excellent and more than made up for it. Excellent brisket, fish n chips, and build your own burger! The garlic aioli and IPA mustard sauces were definitely memorable. We were grateful for the complimentary bread and dipping sauce. Yum! They told us their desserts were homemade so we shared the cheesecake. It was better than I expected!
