    Small bathroom

I stayed in the main building, room #4 which is just above the bar. The room was small but adequate for single or couple. The bathroom was tiny as was the shower. My only real complaint was the water temperature in the shower; very inconsistent. One moment it was ice cold, the next it was scalding hot! Overall, nice place to stay.

Near by lake recommended by the management

Everything about this hotel is amazing, there's great fishing, history and the food is great! I read some of the other reviews and honestly most of them are incorrect or obviously nit pickers, the food was amazing, fries tasted great and were crunchy, they also didn't season them which I love, their prime rib French dip was AMAZING, the staff was friendly as well, I highly recommend this spot it's very family friendly and well worth your money and stay.

We stayed in Room 40 on 5/5/20244 - $122.08/night. Cute vintage room with a wall heater. There was no coffee, microwave or refrigerator, likely due to electrical load that the property's not wired to handle (see heater pic.) The room had a lovely wood floor and paneling, and the bathroom floor was tiled with a pocket door - I've not seen one of those in all my travels. The beds were older and reasonably comfortable. The shower was hot and drained well but the pressure was kind of weak, which wasn't really any surprise given the age of the property. When I checked in, there were free Mono County stickers at the desk. I stopped by the restaurant in the morning for ice and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Grade: B

Great hotel, comfortable rooms, dining room has very good food and at reasonable prices and the hotel is haunted by The Lady in White!! (Allegedly) We did have a couple strange experiences at night!!

We were staying up the road and walked down to check out the fish hatchery. After reading about the program we decided we needed to bring our kids to see it. After watching these massive trout swim around for awhile they read that they could feed the fish if they went inside and asked for Jimmy, and I've never seen them move so fast. The nice woman at the host stand hooked them up with food and told them Jimmy was throwing pizzas, but he'd come out to say hi. As it turns out, Jimmy is the owner of the property, the chef, and the hatchery manager too! His passion is infections and it's so obvious he loves this place so much. We enjoyed learning about the property, hatchery and fishery from him, and the kids felt like they'd made a friend for life. There's a restaurant here too and a little play area in the back of the restaurant, making this a great roadside stop. They also have fun accommodations including cabins, covered wagons, and others, all situated with a nice break from the highway. We came back with our younger son and he loved it as much as the older two kids! That visit we enjoyed the restaurant, which I'll review separately.

Overall the cabin was comfortable and roomy for the 4 of us. They get 5 stars on the pillows which were nice/quality. Because our dogs are bed sleepers when we travel... my hubs had the queen with the pups and I took the bunk. I did have to make up my own bed which seemed odd but perhaps they assumed with 2 humans I would be in the queen. Loved that they don't charge pet fees, but you also don't get any housekeeping (they seemed to have emptied the trash but that was about it). It is off the 395, so you will hear the traffic, even with windows closed. They give you a little bag on checkin that has some coffee pods/cups, fish food and a little s'mores kit which was a nice touch! WiFi was excellent as well given cell service is nonexistent if you have T-Mobile. My husband tried some wings in the restaurant and said they were okay but pricey. I would stay here again 100%.

They were able to accommodate us kind of last minute. We were traveling in a group of five RV's and ten people and four dogs. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful people that run the park. They were super nice and helpful getting us settled in. Robin at the front desk moved me into the shadiest spot in the park because we were the only rig without a/c. After setting up we were greeted with a community campfire. Michael and his wife and Robin told us about the history of the place and the amenities that are available in the park and the area. We used it as a basecamp to explore Bodie and the Bridgeport area. We really liked the place and will be returning next year. We really liked the place and the pleasant folks that run it.

He…read moresingle-handedly saved what could have been a disastrous trip with his calm demeanor, experience, and generous spirit. Having stayed at a few RV resorts now, I have four criteria that add up to a five star experience: Service, Amenities, Cleanliness, and Community Vibes. Willow Springs scores 5/5 on service, cleanliness, and community vibes. The property sits just off HWY 395 with the majority of the sites situated towards the back of the property, beautifully surrounded by the hills. The property and all sites are pristine with small bits of shade provided by adjacent cottonwoods and evergreens, and during our stay we enjoyed a steady breeze that made the temps quite enjoyable. Each night the host creates a community campfire that burns hot and long, bringing everyone together. They provide the wood and Michael tends to it, and they even have the large sticks for roasting marshmallows too. Connecting with people from all over around the fire was the highlight for me! Amenity wise, they have two nice gas grills with a nice picnic area, a large DVD library, basketball hoop and concrete pad to play on. There's also supposed to be stocked trout pond, but it was dry on our visit due to a missing pump that's supposed to be fixed soon. Recreationally that's about it. There aren't any hiking trails accessible from the property nor anything walking distance, that basketball area is located right next to the highway, and the lot is gravel so not ideal for bikes, which is why as family travelers, I'll say the property tries, but this isn't the most ideal. That said we still had fun. I'd recommend this as a great basecamp in the Bridgeport/Twin Lakes area!
