These movers were extremely unprofessional and ACTUALLY GHOSTED ME MID-MOVE. The story: I booked this company to move my household goods from one house in Cincinnati to another about a mile away. I described the contents of my house when I booked them, but there was no follow up or pre-visit to the house either in person or facetime. When I called the day before the move, I was assured they had looked through pictures of my house online and were able to handle the job. At no time was I warned that this could be more than a one day job or that they had any question they could carry out the move in the time promised. This was important since I had booked cleaners for my house for the day after the movers so I could turn over keys the day after that. On the day of the move, it quickly became apparent that they did not have enough men or trucks to carry out the move in one day. Moreover, the movers spent the day alternately suggesting that I was to blame for having too many possessions or that the owner was responsible for habitually failing to accurately assess beforehand what manpower and trucks were needed for jobs. Regardless, the crew and owner insisted on finishing sharply at 5 pm, leaving at least half of my house still to move. The movers said they would be back next morning to move the rest. When I asked the owner if he would give me some discount on the rest of the move given that he had so underestimated what was needed to complete the job in the day promised, he angrily told me that he had no responsibility and that I should have known it would take longer--and then he hung up on me. When I showed up to my old house the next morning to meet the movers, I found out they had left valuable furniture outside overnight. And then: THEY DID NOT SHOW UP TO COMPLETE THE MOVE. . . AND THE OWNER DID NOT ANSWER ANY OF MY PHONE CALLS. By some miracle, I was able to find some movers (Clark and Sons) for that day who worked until midnight to get me moved. These guys were amazing. They did all of the things that Affordable Movers did not. They were highly professional and extremely kind to me throughout. They worked together well, assured me they were there until the move was completed, treated my furniture carefully (Affordable movers were responsible for some terrible scratches on my furniture), brought in another worker when they realized they needed more help. My experience with Affordable Movers was one of the worst that I have had with any company. They added incredible stress and trauma to a normally challenging time in anyone's life. Finally, given that I had to hire another company for a further thirteen hours, they were not very affordable at all.

We hired this company recently for a move of our heavier items we had not yet moved between houses…read more Over all they did a decent job. They were courteous, on time and tried to be careful with our belongings. There are a couple of small scuffs and dings on the fresh paint at the house we've moved out of and a fresh ding in the table leg of our 100 year old dining set. But it could've been worse. I would not recommend them for piano moving at all. When I was told that they did piano moving I expected that they were equipped for moving it and knowledgeable. Nope! I wasn't at the old house to see it loaded or I would've stopped them. I was at the new house waiting. Watching them roll the piano down a ramp, on a dolly was surprising. I assumed they'd have a lift on the truck for such an item. Especially since they charge extra for a piano. I cringed at the sound and sight of it bouncing down the ramp. Then they took in down the back hill to our walkout basement entrance. Bumping and vibrating the whole way. No extra care was taken of the piano. I've had this same piano moved before by professional piano movers and know that you do not move one like this company did. They are ok for basic things but I don't think I would trust them to move anything antique or musical.

Do not, do not, do not use them. Find anyone else. Before disaster struck (they loaded a pressure…read morewasher full of gas sideways and it destroyed my queen mattress and $2500 leather couch) -- they were determined to stretch the time to quoted 5-6.5 hrs (for a 2BR move 30 mins across town). I caught one of the boys wheeling a hollow bed frame by itself on a cart... Truly a pathetic bunch and I don't feel that I'm being too harsh with my words. No apology or remorse from movers or manager. Do not use them. The manager read me a 1 liner from their liability clause and told me to kick rocks.

They treated our stuff with care and listened to any special instructions that we gave them. They all were so pleasant to work with. The estimator did an amazing job, too. We called for a fast move and she met with us the same day. She was within 15 minutes of the actual hours. Mark did the math, adjusted the bill and made sure we were happy. Highly recommend, easy to work with.

He assured me the move would happen in 1 day with two trucks and 4 men. I requested an early start of 8 am as I knew it would be a long day. The movers arrived at 10 am. They called me on the way to our home and told me that the move would take 2 days. I eventually got a message to Antonio and he showed up at our move. He once again said he thought the move could be completed in 1 day as promised. Well it took until 7pm to load up the trucks. They ended up putting us up in a hotel that evening. They returned the next day to unload our load once again about 10 am. They took all day-Day2 to unload our stuff, leaving after 6 pm on DAY 2. The men moving the stuff did get our possessions to our new home in one piece. However the cost of the move ended up being $1000 more than the estimate I had been given. Had I known that the estimate for the move was bogus, I would have gotten someone else to move us. So buyer beware, don't believe their estimate.
