Saw them a few months ago for rotator cuff injury. I told them i would only go if insurance (Blue Shield) covered it, they checked three weeks ahead of my appointment and assured me it was covered. After three or four visits, i saw it wasn't being paid. I told them i was going to stop cause i can't afford it if not covered. They again told me it was definitely covered and to keep coming and not worry about it. It wasn't. Now i am stuck with 7 weeks of unpaid bills, and they insist i signed a document saying i would pay (after they assured me it was totally covered). There are plenty of good PT offices in Portland, why go with one with a business model that relies on deception and harassment. Don't believe a word they say to you. I suffered a pretty nasty work injury in October of 2017. Because of it I missed concerts, birthday get togethers, road trips, and even the ability to function when it came to the usual activities of daily living. I just wrapped up a series of physical therapy treatments at Bridgetown Physical Therapy and it was a great experience. The place is clean and easy to get to with convenient validated parking and the staff is friendly and professional. My therapist was Michelle Botsford. She was thorough and effective and quickly found the root cause of my problem and explained it to me in great detail. I first went to a different PT company in Portland for the same problem and the results were disappointing. If I ever need physical therapy again I'll be going to Bridgetown PT and I recommend you do too. read more

Can't recommend Bridgetown enough. I walked in on a whim when I noticed a PT clinic in the building where I work - had started distance running a couple months prior and had to stop due to debilitating calf and knee pain that prevented me from running at all. Grant H did a careful consultation and came up with a plan that involved myofascial release, lengthening of my core, and improving ankle and hip flexibility. In 2 months the pain was gone and I am able to run again. Wow! I'm a 29 year old with a background in wrestling, martial arts, football, and rugby. Never had to worry about yoga, foam rolling, hip flexibility etc because I suppose I was young enough that it never caused me problems. Now, I've discovered that it makes the difference between being able to run and not, which for me is worth about 25 lbs of body fat along with my ability to focus at work. I am now a lifelong foam roller/LAX ball convert thanks to Grant. Grant was also easy to work with, engaging, and thoughtful. He always brought great ideas to the table and left me with exercises I can do to continue treatment on my own. His staff Ashley, Morgan and Brianna were also wonderful, fun to interact with and worked with me on payment timing as I transitioned between insurance carriers. I genuinely enjoyed every session at Bridgetown, from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left. 10/10 would recommend to anybody with a nagging physical issue. I will likely be returning to Grant for personal training when things settle a bit at work, and if I end up injured again I will absolutely be giving him a call. I worked with Josh for around 2 months to regain functional movement in my right shoulder after a biking accident. My biggest takeaway is that I wish I had come in sooner! I went from barely being able to get dressed in the morning to getting back in the gym and lifting weights, something I had missed sorely while living with my arm in a sling. Grant worked with me for about 2 months after my knee surgery, and he was great. Always supportive and easy going.

After a month and a half working with Anna the back pain that plagued me through the summer went away and in the month and a half since our sessions ended it has stayed away and my condition has continued to improve. Anna worked with me to locate the sources of the pain I was experiencing, work through the biggest issues in our sessions, and develop an intuitive stretching and strengthening program that I have been able to incorporate into my daily routine with very positive results. I was very happy with my experience (over a period of three months) at Bridgetown PT, specifically with Mark Hatfield. I went to Bridgetown due to a knee injury, and had barely started working with Mark on that issue when I fell and sprained my ankle. Despite the severity of the sprain, with Mark's therapy and knowledge, I was soon back on my ankle and able to work once again on the bad knee. Mark is patient, extremely knowledgeable, and professional. He knew just how far to push me each time. And when I had made sufficient progress, he "graduated" me, with the caveat that I could check back in with him if needed. Josh's "Training Like the Pros" is unequivocally the best group exercise class in which I have ever participated. I was particularly impressed with how he made it relevant for athletes of varying ability. Josh is both an elite trainer and a scientist, striking a balance between the intensity of Crossfit, but with an emphasis on technique that will ensure you won't become one of his physical therapy patients. Speaking of being a physical therapy patient, as a lifelong athlete, I have spent a lot of time in a lot of physical therapy clinics. I can tell you unequivocally that Josh and Mark are the best. I cannot recommend this place/their staff enough! I believe their success is due to a combination of knowledge and sincerity. A few years ago, I had an upper back pain that I just could not get to go away--I tried other PTs, varying my workout, but nothing helped. I went to Josh (based on his credentials listed online) and he developed a strength training workout for me that not only helped eliminate my back pain, but also added variety to my regular workout. Now, a few years later, I've used Bridgetown for everything: their workout class, personal training, and more treatment sessions to deal with some knee pain. Every time I go, all the stresses that normally come with medical problems are alleviated. Each employee, from the PTs to each person working at the front desk are kind, sincere, and helpful. If you're not typically into exercise, and find gym atmospheres intimidating, Bridgetown does a fantastic job of providing an inclusive, safe atmosphere. If you love exercise, but want to avoid injury, they provide a place where you can gain knowledge and improve on your workout without hurting yourself. And, their location is easily accessible to many offices since it's downtown, so that's also a bonus. read more
