I can't recommend Therapydia enough. It was my first time going to a physical therapist and I didn't have a lot of hope that I could be helped because it was old injuries compounding. It wasn't like going in post surgery where there's a clearly defined SOP- it was complicated, but I knew it was getting worse and I needed help. (I'm sure they're great at post-op recovery too!) Jamie really took the time to diagnose the problems and gave me vocabulary for what I was feeling and where the problems were coming from. Its hard to really put into words how much a good physical therapist can help you if you're having any kind of pain, mobility or overall physical fitness issues. Like many, I suffer from lower back pain issues, caused in part from a weak core and in part from (I believe) carrying my stress in that part of my body. Ryan had been awesome. I was having some hip issues with a potential labral tear. An orthopedic specialist wanted to cut me open right away, but I suggested we try PT first. Was referred to Therapydia by a friend and I'm so glad I did. My hip pain has gone down considerably after a couple months of consistent work here with Ryan. I had a terrible experience. It was my first visit to get help with chronic pain. The walls to the room were paper thin. We could hear every conversation of other PTs and patients. Bad enough, when the PT said that anal massage might help my pain. I was stunned. It was very distressing that I had to pay out of my pocket. read more

Tony D'Ovidio has been my personal body savior. I have retired from running after 31 years and a herniated disc, now just bulging. As a replacement I do weight and HIIT training. I have sciatic pain from time to time and with age, certain parts of my body just give up. He has helped me strengthen those parts so that my ribs do not consistently pop out, my rotator cuffs are functioning properly and he has reminded my core how to operate properly. At times during my visit, I will bring up another problem and he creates new therapy to resolve the issue. Got the "welcome' email after second visit and never got my exercise specifics (not provided during visit, even when i asked for them) via email, though i emailed to say i hadn't gotten them... and no follow up via email or phone. Tough timing when they want to see you twice a week. Additionally - never knew when a call was coming from their office because there were no dedicated identified business lines...got calls from all kinds of area codes including 415...when i picked up, office person said, yeah....we've got all kinds of phones here. She completely made my cervicogenic dizziness (that I suffered from for 5+ years) go away after only 2 appointments. She identified the missing pieces of the puzzle right away. Amazing! Fabulous results w/Tony D'Ovidio at Therapydia (Burnside) I started seeing Tony in mid January to recover from sciatica. Simply reaching forward while bending three weeks earlier had brought on unrelenting pain, from my lower back, all the way down my left leg, to my now numb big toe. I was unable to sit, sleep, or stand with out intense pain. After receiving a very brusque assessment from a PT at one of those ubiquitous walk-in clinics, I found Therapydia, with its great reviews. Tony was very thoughtful in his approach and worked with me through many weeks of marginal progress. Years of inactivity had taken its toll and Tony had a lot of work to do to help me recover, rebuild, and get off the handful of pills I was now taking 3-4 times a day just to keep the pain under control. He was very encouraging and unrelenting in searching for new techniques to get me on my feet. As I began PT with Tony, I also tried acupuncture. After four treatments, they were convinced I needed a more radical treatment (disc surgery), but Tony kept working with me, assessing my marginal progress and giving me hope. We always discussed that option, but he rightly assessed (as confirmed by the physician who was also monitoring my progress), that surgery was not indicated. After six weeks, I was able to sleep through the night and sit without pain for more than a couple of minutes. I'm still working on standing without pain for more than 10 minutes, but I've been able to cut my pain meds in half and eliminate the muscle relaxers altogether. Sadly, I needed to move away from the area in early March, but Tony left me with written instructions to continue my progress. With his encouragement, I began practicing yoga a couple of weeks ago and have begun to rebuild the strength in my toes. I've very grateful I found such a compassionate, knowledgeable and persistent therapist in Tony D'Ovidio @ Therapydia. read more

I was referred to Therapydia by my orthopedic surgeon after getting surgery to repair a broken fibula. When I arrived at Therapydia, I was on crutches and I could barely put any weight on my injured foot and leg. Now, just a few weeks later, thanks to Jason, Nikki and Sabrina at Therapydia, I am walking. LIKE FOR REAL WALKING. Not just walking, but also lunging, squatting, rowing, and more. I still have a lot more work to do before I am completely "back to normal," and I am grateful that my Therapydia peeps will be on my recovery team, all the way through. I finally decided to come in to get evaluated for some chronic knee pain while running. I thought there was something wrong with my knee itself but turns out I had some super tight quads and tight glutes ;) Not in the good way :( The entire experience was relaxed and easy from start to finish. Jason did a gait evaluation with cool new technology and identified weaknesses that needed to be worked on. He was professional but you could easily talk to him like he was an old buddy. Nikki was awesome, too. Not only did she help figure out confusing insurance stuff, she also walked me through all of the stretches and strengthening exercises I needed to do at home.
