She said maybe we should get more signs out there. Yes that will stop him.... This man in a silver toyota SUV has been going to BayWinds Park every morning feeding 100's of Rock Pigeons! Now the area is infested with RATS! and pigeons! I was walking here everyday between 6 & 7am until the pigeon/rat feeding got underway. I was very angry when I saw what was happening. I yelled to him, Are you feeding these birds? Had to say it twice. He told me it was none of my business. I told him, you are messing with eco-system out here! I said I am reporting you. He drove his SUV right at me, stopped it just in front of me!! I moved to the side and told him we didn't have a rat problem til you started throwing food everywhere!!! He flipped me off and reversed out of there. I've reported him to Foster City Police and Wildlife, Fish & Game, They directed me to Parks & Rec..which has not done anything about it. It's been weeks of this that I know about...very sad and dangerous for this park and the bay wildlife. :( Google says: Pigeon droppings can expose humans to many diseases, including salmonella, Newcastle disease, candidiasis, encephalitis, orthosis, and toxoplasmosis. In addition, they can also carry cryptococcosis, and coccidiodomycosis, which cause meningitis.

I hit a wall troubleshooting online and took a chance calling Michael on a Sunday. Not only did he invite me to come by, but he already had the cables I needed waiting when I arrived. Rather than simply ringing up the sale, he walked me through the fix, explained the risks, and made sure I knew what to watch out for. When I discovered the damage was worse than expected -- acid corrosion on additional cables -- Michael had already left for the day, but still called into the shop so his colleagues could get me what I needed. The Shoreline Park towards the Foster City side, has a bridge to observe wildlife refuge. This is where I spend most of my time especially, during the summer months to watch and observe wildlife. But more importantly, I sit there to zen, reflect, remain still and quiet; all awhile rejuvenating my sense of balance. I recommend coming here if you need to decompress and try to experience a moment of stillness. You might just discover another world of yourself that you didn't know existed. Cheers!

However I thought their practices around the fee structure were extremely shady. First of all, for a community center you charge a crazy amount. It's meant to be accessible and not an elite club which is what this has turned into. A name change should be well in order if they're not serving the community they belong to. Please note they are a non profit organization. Secondly they will charge you an arm and a leg for classes and membership, they will update your pricing and not give you notice. I think the fact that they don't list their prices on their website are true testament to my statement. I dropped my membership as it stopped being worth the $500 I was paying for me and the kids per month (only one of my kids was doing swim lessons) their swim classes helped for a little and then the teachers were replaced with new ones who didn't care much about the students. I ended up quitting and unless their pricing is more transparent and less elitist I'd rather drive a little bit longer.
