A tasting of everything the distillery sells was the start of the early afternoon after arrival. Tina is the consummate ambassador of the brand, professional, knowledgeable and most importantly, personable. One of the best liquor tastings we've experienced. We did end up buying a variety of several liquor. The prices are right. 2. The Cottages- Rose Garden 123, for us, now sets the example of what a clean and perfectly designed lodging should be. 3. Dinner- Again, nothing less than satisfying at the Cork room Restaurant. Nice dinner menu selection, very well made cocktails alongside attentive and personable staff. We both had beef entrees, the beef was better tasting than beef we've had in a long time, just tasted clean Also, perfectly seasoned and cooked to the doneness as ordered. Overall, this is a well run business with excellent staff. Easy choice to come back again.

Toni, our server, was very nice and understanding when we told her the fish from the fish and chips order just wasn't very good. According to the eater, it was "too fishy tasting," and the texture was different than typical deep fried fish. My son-in-law had the steak tips, and he cleaned his plate, so I'm guessing they were good. I had the Po' Boy sandwich, the third one I've had in the last few weeks!! Mine was good, but instead of a hoagie-like bun, it came on hamburger buns, so not quite as big as I thought it'd be. Still pretty good, though! The sweet tater fries were excellent!

It opened back in 1972 and has been family-owned for three generations. Their wines are typically made from muscadine and scuppernong grapes. I learned that they also carry Mothervine Wine, which comes from clippings of the 400-year-old vine in Roanoke Island. Duplin Winery was allowed to take clippings from this Mother Vine and established a new vineyard. Legend suggests the vine may have been planted by Croatan Native Americans or settlers of the Lost Colony. Scuppernong grapes are a white muscadine variety that is North Carolina's official state fruit. Duplin Winery is also known as the winery of the South. There is a large parking lot. The building's exterior looks rustic. Inside, you will be greeted when you enter the door. Remember to get your basket or cart, as it is difficult to carry items without one. The first room has the wines and food products. They had a section for sampling the dips, salsas, crackers and other items. The other room has the wine tasting and gift shop. Then, beyond that, there is the Bistro. I was delighted to find non-alcoholic wines. They offered Muscadine cider, Scuppernong (white), and Muscadine (red). I left with all three. While I didn't get to try the specific Mothervine wine, I did get to try the Alcohol-Free Scuppernong at the Bistro, which features the same historic state fruit variety that made the Mother Vine famous! The gift shop has items to find those perfect gifts or just something for yourself. From the rustic charm to the friendly greeting at the door, Duplin Winery truly lives up to its reputation as the 'Winery of the South.' It's a great stop for the history, the gifts, and the delicious sweet treats.

I think the "cheese platter" is misleading there, we thought we were going to get more of a charcuterie board type of thing.. 30$ for 4 tastes of wine and some crackers/ dip, so maybe worth it ? I wouldn't go again

We took advantage of a few of their add-ons (wine tasting, steak dinner, and stuffed french toast breakfast). The tent is big and really nice. A comfortable air bed sits above a homey rug - the whole set up is lovely. They bring fresh fruit, water and deliver the food at whatever time you wish. The wine tasting was fun and educational. The food was fantastic, and we had a great time. We brought our own drinks (beer and soda) in a cooler and I would bring books and games if you don't plan to explore the surrounding area (emerald isle and myrtle beach). We will be going back!

I came here to go shark fishing over the weekend with a few friends. The first night we headed out in the late afternoon, we stopped here first. What a blast we had! I had so much fun that I would have been fine if we just stayed there instead of going fishing! Silver Coast offers wine tasting, and there were a few four-person tables there doing tastings. There are a couple of two-person tables, and then there's the bar. It's not a big place, but they sure stay busy! We sat at the bar first and asked for something special. John told us he could combine two of their beers and it would taste exactly like a Creamsicle. Well, he wasn't kidding. It smelled and tasted exactly like a Creamsicle. WOW! Needless to say, we were there every day for the three days of our trip. Each time, John brought us new tastes to try. I cannot emphasize how much fun he makes this place. Imagine if you had a small local place that you had been going to for the past 5 years. That's how John made me feel starting with my first time. On one of the top shelves of the small store which is located in the front of the room (the bar area is in the back half of the room) was a giant bottle of wine. It turned out to be five liters. I knew that if I returned from a winery without having brought my lovely wife a bottle, she might lecture me. So, I decided to get her that bottle. Hey, it was only one bottle! :-) About the facilities, they are clean and welcoming. But did I mention John? I cannot give this place enough stars.
