Would rate lower if I could. I brought my cat to this place to see if they could help my cat with a tooth that was loss and swelling in the mouth. The vet gave me the impression I was an annoyance visit. She looked at the tooth said it would eventually fall out. Gave him a rabies vaccination and left for another appointment. She provided me some antibiotics. I took him to another doctor and the tooth was removed. Brigantine is a rip off. An expensive waste of money. I will never return. read more

I left a review on Google and since I can't reply, I wanted to respond here First of all, I didn't keep you on the phone and simply babble. I listened to you explain how costly human rabies vaccines are and the process you experience with titer tracking to assure yourself that you are protected. I mentioned concerns about profits, yes. Especially with the plethora of alternatives and research proving long lasting immunity in some animals. I am concerned that our animals are being over medicated, like humans, and it is manifesting as increased chronic conditions. Sadly, premature deaths in some cases. Statistics are telling. Secondly, I didnt say I waited 3 hours. I said I should have blocked off 3 hours vs 2 for the entire experience considering I had another commitment at 630. My appointment was 430. I was considering travel with the mention of 3 vs 2 hours. I should have set more time aside. I am accustomed to a vet checking for heart-worm and checking stools. You had already told me during our 30 min conversation that blood work was not always needed, especially with younger dogs. I appreciate you reiterating that my dog showed no signs of illness and would not need further testing. But, even at past wellness visits my dog was tested for heartworm and stool tested. I did ask about a refill for heart worm medication at check out and was told that she would need a heart worm test first. I was able to get my refill so no worries. The only item I mentioned having at home was a brand new flea collar. A collar you said would prevent a potential flea infestation on my dog. I was surprised she even had a flea since we had taken her to a groomer for assessment and they did not see any despite the small inflamed patch on her skin. After you left medical room, I had to ask you if there was anything more that could be given to help with inflammatory response; then you brought up a steroid. I had to ask you since this option was not given to me before you left room. We both agreed if the collar did not resolve then I could call you in 2 weeks for said prescription. I came in because she was signaling discomfort in that area. I was not provided any offering or immediate solutions to relieve such. I assume that the steroid is not an option now despite paying for an exam. After I posted my google review, you felt the need to send me a Dear John letter. No mention that we could still receive a steroid which you recommended 2 weeks post appt. if she wasnt 100%. I am allowed to ask questions as I was interviewing you. Clearly that was burdensome to you and instead of politely ending our conversation on phone you now are portraying that you were forced to be on the phone. You shared your personal medical information w/ me when I was merely talking about my dog and concerns about synthetic medicines. They can have unpleasant side effects. I wanted to know if titer tests were available vs. potentially over stimulating my dog's immune system. We agreed to hold off on any vaccine until she was 100% health wise or that I may participate in a free clinic as I have done in the past. Again, I am allowed to choose natural or alternative treatments over chemical anything. You can't meet people like me half way. That is why I said I would not be coming back. I would like similar minded individuals to know that you aren't open to holistic, natural, or conservative care. Feedback may help another save time and money. Our only holistic vet in this county is no longer in practice so finding someone comparable will be difficult. I don't connect with condescending energy. It is not a welcoming energy. I am sure some people feel comfortable with you, I am not warning people about you being anything terrible. I am just stating the truth based on my experience. Individuals that prefer natural or question the billion dollar animal industry and conflicting research to justify such may want to consider looking elsewhere. That's all. Thanks for the reassurance you provided, that our dog is healthy and needed no extra tests or treatment beyond a collar. Thanks for also warning me about Amazon's fraudulent products. However, reality suggests there is a more pressing issue than just some people buying fake products. Again, I rarely shop Amazon for anything but appreciate the information. Regulators of these products have issued warnings too. It's accessible to the public on respected research and government websites. None of these direct resources mention Amazon but I 100% agree that is concerning. They mention transparency and risks associated with some chemical treatments commonly prescribed to pets but no mention of it being isolated to Amazon or any supplier. My last bit of feedback? Maybe do not speak negatively about natural health products or choices if you aren't an expert on them. A few of your statements didn't align and seemed contradictory. Dog Mom life can be ruff but the Brigantine Animal hospital takes any difficulty out of a trip to the vet. My sweet pup has been a patient for over two years now and the amazing staff has helped navigate routine vaccination, nail trims, a dental cleaning (my girl is almost 8) and a spindle cell cancer surgery that was successful with no reoccurrence for over 19 months to date. Additionally, when an off leash dog came after my sweet girl, they were there to examine my pet and calm down a frantic mama who was an emotional mess. I love that the office is small and you receive personal attention and care for your animal every call and visit. The staff is kind, knowledgeable and all clearly enjoy their vocation. Every time we go we're greeted by name, every pet that comes in is always loved on and treated with individual greetings and treats. They are very upfront about pricing for procedures, medication and annual vaccinations. During the pandemic they were even able to procure my dogs prescription dog food when Chewy & PetCo were out of stock. They did not tack on any crazy fees and sold the food at an appropriate and fair price when many other companies would have taken advantage of the situation. Last, the team offers free pre-scheduled meet and greets. They allow you to bring your animal in, meet the staff in a no threat environment, get lots of love and treats, explore the exam room and generally get acclimated to the office. I've never had another vet clinic offer such a thoughtful service. I took advantage of it when I moved here as my large breed rescue used to be terrified of the vet, now my dog likes to take her favorite toys with her to show the team. My dog no longe hides in a corner shaking during visits and will hop on the scale, seek out staff for pets and ask for belly rubs. I've been coming here when at the shore for the last few years. Dr. S has taken incredible care of my cats and actually found an issue a few years back that may have saved my cats life. I highly recommend him and trust his expertise. They also recommended my fabulous Pet Sitter Terri... She takes the best care... sends pictures of the cats and texts me during her visits. she captures their personalities.
