Dr. Sue Rew is the best vet in the area. She is extremely caring, first and foremost. Her approach…read moreis one that is based less around throwing medicine and tests at symptoms, but what truly is at the source of a given issue, even if it means she'll make less money. She understands biologically appropriate diets and holistic approaches. I feel like she is the only vet around here that knows how much crap is being fed to our animals. Lastly, she does little things that make you appreciate not only her approach with your beloved pet, but her value as a business person. She will use generics where possible, as opposed to most vets who will cash in on selling brand names. She will, at times, sell you things for her cost or VERY close to it. Sometimes, she won't even charge for a visit, especially if it's minor or close to a previous one. I feel extremely blessed to have such a quality veterinarian in the area.

We took our cat Rocky (8-9 yrs old) here because he seemed to be having some trouble breathing and had refused to eat for the past 24 hours , he was still active and running around , jumping up onto his chair and using his litter box before we took him here . After getting him to this place and signing him in and oddly having to pay before he was even seen , a vet assistant came and took him out a door into what looked like a garage , they wouldn't let me stay with him (I've NEVER left any of my pet's sides when at a vet) after about 45 minutes a tech came out with an estimate saying the vet wanted to do all kinds of tests , the estimate was over $800 !!! Then she tells me his heart is barely beating , (it was beating fine actually a little fast before we got him there due to the anxiety of being in the cat carrier and car ride) , we definitely couldn't afford $800+ dollars and Stupidity believed what the tech said , so we chose to let him go peacefully and have him euthanized . After another 45 minutes we were brought into a tiny room and waited almost another HOUR without being told ANYTHING , then a tech brought Rocky in and he was unconscious and gasping for air !! I want to know what these people did to him when they took him into that garage or whatever it is !!! When the vet came in she NEVER said a word to either of us , and when I asked her what happened to my cat , she just said oh he's in shock !! Well he wasn't when I brought him in and he wasn't when they took him from me at the front , he's been to different vets throughout his life and that's NEVER HAPPENED !!! Then she put a needle into him and he started screaming and twisting !! I've had to have cats euthanized before and that never happened !! Then she said something about the needle not being in the vein right and stuck him again and again he screamed and twisted ! Then she picked him up roughly and took him out the door saying something about having to get the needle in properly , so I was just left sitting there waiting , cause my husband couldn't stay and see this woman torturing our cat !! I sat there for about 20 minutes before I finally asked the girl at the front what the hell was going on with my cat !? She went out the door and came back 15 minutes later and said I could come back , Rocky was layed out on a table and the vet just shoved the needle into him , , when his breathing stopped , she didn't even look at me she just said , there he's dead . I will NEVER forgive myself for taking my Sweet little Rocky to this Horrible place and I'll never forget or unsee how he looked when they brought him into that room and how he was treated and tortured by these Awful people !! Then this morning, they responded to my review trying to defend what that horrible woman did to him , with excuses and lies I WAS THERE !!! I SAW WHAT THAT HORRIBLE WOMAN DID TO HIM !!!!!! If you Love your pets STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!!! This is the BS they sent me this morning (fyi they mention Rocky not being up to date on his rabies shot , Rocky has NEVER been outside and never once tried to get outside , our regular vet said she was fine with him not getting his rabies vaccine due to that fact) My Best Friends Animal Hospital (Owner) 7 hours ago I am truly sorry to hear about your experience with us and the distress it has caused you and your husband. It's clear how much you loved Rocky and I deeply empathize with the pain of losing a beloved pet. Clearly your review is very emotional but we would like to make some clarifications. You called asking for Rocky to be seen because he was having difficulty breathing and the doctor had put one of your other cats down so could you bring him in. It was explained that the doctor was in surgery but to bring Rocky over now. When you arrived the doctor was still in surgery and there was a 15 min wait. The technician took Rockys history and you indicated he was not current on his rabies vaccine and could not provide us with previous medical records. Rocky was brought through the food room, not a garage, to the treatment area for evaluation. A pet who is not current on a rabies vaccine puts everyone at risk and extra precautions need to be taken which extends the exam and evaluation time. If an unvaccinated pet bites someone, the pet's head needs to be sent to Trenton for testing and the person bitten will need six shots at once for possible rabies exposure. Once the exam was done, It was explained that he had a low heart rate and we would need to perform diagnostics to find out the cause. You were given an estimate for the recommended diagnostics. I am sorry for the cost but in today's economic climate prices are high. You declined ALL diagnostics. Without diagnostics we are unable to formulate a treatment plan, expected recovery or

I feel so fortunate to have found Paws First, which gives me the option to have my pets cared for in their own home. The ability to book online makes arranging for pet sitting so easy and convenient. Response time is always very quick, and the rates are reasonable for the peace of mind these people provide. I love getting email updates on how my dogs are doing. Even when they're naughty and get into the trash or have a little accident, everything is in order when I get home and my dogs are happy and loved. **Need to add an update because of one visit in particular. It has taken me a while to be able to write this. Over the Summer, I had the amazing folks from Paws First watching my dogs while I was away for the weekend out of state. My senior dog's health had been in decline for a while, but it didn't seem to be cause for too much concern- just typical old dog stuff. One night, her health took a very sudden and dramatic turn. It was clear that if she were brought in to the the vet that she would not be returning. I didn't want my old girl's last moments to be spent someplace unfamiliar. The staff at Paws First went above and beyond to provide extra care and comfort to her when she needed it most so I could race home to be with her. I am forever grateful for all they did for her.

After a delay, I was told my dog had just had diarrhea and was being cleaned. When he was finally brought out, he was in unacceptable condition! His back end still had poo, and his white fur was stained yellow, as well as blue stain on his paws. When I asked about it, I was first told it had "just happened," but then later told it occurred earlier that morning in his kennel, which was inconsistent and concerning. I immediately requested the 20% tip be refunded. I was only given three wipes to clean him after I specifically asked, which was completely inadequate for the condition he was in. I declined their offer to bathe him because I no longer felt comfortable leaving him in their care. Although I was eventually refunded for his full stay, the condition my dog was returned in and the conflicting explanations I was given were unacceptable. Even worse, it has now been three days since I picked him up and he is still experiencing diarrhea, to the point where I may need to take him to the ER. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this facility.

They responded quickly and reassured me that a biologist inspects each turtle before it's cleared for shipping. They also explained that the turtles are packed appropriately for the climate they're being sent to and shipped overnight to minimize stress. Shipping ended up being delayed by about three weeks, but CBReptile kept me updated with weekly emails, letting me know that their biologist hadn't approved the turtle for shipment yet. I really appreciated the transparency and the fact that they prioritized the turtle's health over speed. I'd much rather wait a bit longer if it means a healthier animal. When he finally arrived on 4/30, he was alert and active right out of the box. He's tiny, about a 1-inch shell, but full of energy, an excellent swimmer, and has a healthy appetite. He seems very happy and is thriving. Their communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and the care they show for the animals is obvious. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Highly recommended.
