So disappointing! I have been a Bright House/Spectrum customer for 16 years. Their prices kept going up and I called customer services more than once in search of ways to reduce my charges. They offered minimal options until I called to cancel my subscription. Suddenly, they offered an option that would have given me reason to stay had it been offered before I went shopping for other options. It was too little too late. Update 3/27/15 2:14am.. of course. Typical... No Internet once again. The 10mpbs DL speed from bright house I discovered is pretty freakin sad. As I recently switched to T-mobile. My phone gets DL speeds of 20mbps. Smh. Update 8/27/14 6:10am no internet Update 7/17/14 1:40am.. No internet service! Just went out. And look at that.. Same exact time as it was on 6/19 Update 6/19/14 1:42am.. Once again no internet service Holy F***!!!! Wtf is wrong with bright house.. This is the 3rd time in the month I've lost my internet. The first time I just went to bed. The 2nd time I attempted to call them and was notified by a automated message that the service was out in my area. And now tonight I lost service again. Its always at the same time. right around 2am. This time i was agitated. After trying a hard reset of the modem a couple times I called them. This just made the situation worse. I called just before 2:30am. At 2:40am I used my phone as a hotspot so I could get internet though my cell phone and screw around on yelp while I waited on hold.. 2:50am STILL ON HOLD!! I decided to yelp bright house to see if it was even on here. I saw three locations. This one and the one in Orlando and one in maitland. Both are littered with 1 and 2 star reviews. Wow! thats pretty freakin sad bright house. 2:52am right as soon as I was about to write this review I saw my modem flashing out of the corner of my eye.. Thank science. My internet is back.. Time for some Titanfall on my Xbox One. When the Wife and I meet new friends they typically ask if we have kids. My reply "No way, that'll cut into my Xbox time".. Well now bright house is doing just that. I donno if they do service at this time of the morning and thats why I keep losing it at the same time or what. But it should be done around 9 or 10am when most people are at work. not at 2am.. This is when everyone is up Playing Xbox or streaming porn. And if you get in the way of either of those your going to piss people off. This 1 star review is not really based on the internet service. Its pretty decent actually. But over 32 minute wait time on the phone!! Are you kidding me? And at 2:30 in the morning? Thats just unacceptable. Who knows how long the wait time would of been in total. Before Spectrum bought Brighthouse, my monthly bill was $139. Now my bill is over $200. I am not getting anything additional just basic cable no premium channels. My cable goes out more than when I had directv or dish network & its not raining....no picture. My phone goes out when they reboot their system at 230am & my alarm goes off all night long because it requires an active phone line. They cut my favorite movies out early at important scenes. Let's not even talk about my job. The internet is down daily & it requies me to do unpaid overtime hours to get work done in order to keep my job to pay the overpriced cable bill. So far I have been locked in the building 6x's. If you complain about the service you might get someone from Asia or Asia minor on the other side of the world. The wires are underground. So why is my cable going out? My 30 yr old tech friend says cancel cable, get a smart tv, get netflix, & get free online tv/news, put the $2600 yr in your IRA. "We don't do cable. So it's kind of a joke to rate any cable company. They are all very bad. I really think the best thing to do in the year 2017 is to cut the cable to all of them . I have become very unhappy with Spectrum since they took over Brighthouse. I have a friend that is a manager at At&T. My area is getting fiber optic from At&T this week. I will be giving At&T a try since I have some inside help. I'm not sure how it will end up but I cannot continue to give money to Spectrum. They treat their customers very poorly. The customer service reps act like they've got you and you are stuck with them. I think that I would leave them even if At&T wasn't as good or better. I like Bright House, but this service location is awful. They have only two representatives who work agonizingly slow, even though there is always a line out the door. I have been here several times to swap out boxes or get cables whatever, and I have never been helped in under 15-20 minutes. It still beats waiting three days for a technician to come out to your house, but it sucks to stand in a cramped room with a bunch of grumpy people. read more

I am simply amazed at how bad Bright House is. The only thing they have going for them is the fact they sealed up the market somehow blocking competitors from coming in. I was told that if Bright House was in an area they are the only ones that you can get service from. This is a travesty to the public. There is no competition on service providers so we are forced to endure the substandard service they provide. It is time that we force them to fix their issues. I have been in Orlando for right at a year. Prior to moving here I lived in Guadalajara Mexico. I was shocked coming here and finding that there was no fiber optic internet in Orlando. Is this town that technologically challenged? I have only had the opportunity to deal with BH for my services. I have always paid for the 45 MB internet after continuously having bandwidth issues I started doing periodic speed checks. The fasted recorded speed over a year was 17.8 MBS. I spoke to BH about this and their reply was you are paying for "UP TO 45." I told the sales rep that in my speed log I have 45 and 50+ but that was when I was with another carrier. Prey tell me why there is not a better service in Orlando. I told the sales person if that is the case and I only get 15 that is what I want to pay for. So he down graded my service. What I expected was to still get the 15 that I have always gotten. Well that is not the case. For some reason I only now get 2-5 MBS. That have oversold the bandwidth in the markets and we are paying for it. To me this is fraud sell one thing and then throttle the bandwidth down so much that you can't get what you pay for. Google fiber or AT&T's ADSL needs to come to orlando and they will put BH out of business. So if you are looking for a place to live in Orlando look for a place that does not have BH for services. read more

Warning: Do not trust Charter Spectrum sales reps. We were badly misled by one this week. This guy intentionally lied about prices and options just to close a sale. It was a blatant bait and switch. If you are considering working with them, be sure to get everything in writing before installation. Their words mean nothing. I learned today that there is a big disconnect between their sales department and customer service department, which allows shady sales reps to lie and work in the grey area without evidence or consequences. I use to love Bright house but no more! When a charge appeared on my bill for sports channels, I never purchased (because NO ONE) watches sports in this house, I called. The woman who answered could not speak English! I tried to understand why I was being charged for something I never asked for, but it's kind of hard when the person speaks no english then hangs up! I am always getting "please wait" when I turn on TV every night? Never happened before, I called to find out if there was an issue? I was told it does that when it is very busy? HUH?? We had to have a service person come because the modem for RR went. He was really great and when I asked him why the "please wait" his answer was NO WHERE near what there CS rep told me. He also informed us that BH doesn't want there CS people on the phone for more then three minutes?? The company is all about money and NOT service which is so sad. When I got this WAY back when they where Time Warner Cable there where amazing. Even Road Runner is easy to deal with but BH not so much! There rude behavior on the phone is horrid, we PAY for service, being in the retail business myself you don't treat customers like crap! I am so over all the issues with the box, no guide constantly have to unplug replug in and WAIT! Then wait for TV, you can't call them for anything because if you do, they act like your insane, they speak little to NO English, or they tell you flat out you will be charged for a service call??? I have never been charged! There box sits right in my front yard, I have no idea who is allowed in that box or who isn't. For over a year it was not closed correctly so every time it rained the cable box shorted, and threw sparks! I would tell the person who came out to hook new wires up about it, they didn't listen. An AT&T person was out there ( I didn't even know if he could was allowed in that box) when he asked about it being open, I told him that box does not close, the lock is gone and it is always left open by anyone who looks into it... He locked it up. Not three days later someone from Bright house broke the lock and once again open. The last Bright House person to open it I took a pic of, and told him AT&T locked it, you guys broke the lock and left it open so no wonder it shorts. He said not my problem lady I just fix it??? HUH? I am SO tired of them, there lack of customer service, don't ever expect Brighthouse to be nice when you call believe me there not! After having their cable TV/internet service for many years I cut the TV cable out, put a small antenna on the roof and purchased a Roku. I pay ~ $20 month for Sling which is both live broadcast and older shows. We have more content to watch now than we ever had on cable TV. Never miss a football game. Added Netflix and some really good original series are available, no extra cost! Occasionally binge watch 2 or 3 episodes a night. And we can stream CNN, Bizarre Foods, Blue Planet,.... on and on at our office lobby TV as well. All you need is the antenna for local broadcast and more over the air, and stream the rest. The worst connections I've ever experienced in my life. Constantly being kicked off WiFi, constantly having to sign back in and constantly having to change my password because it says wrong pw! Also when I change my tv channels it lags and changes like 5 seconds later, always freezing. Not worth it at all I'd rather pay more somewhere else. read more

This is the worst service I've ever had! A week with only 7 channels to watch and I'm paying for 200! Called twice, got one person here on a Tuesday said problem was on main line will be fixed within 48 hrs. 48 hrs. Later, no one knew anything about it had to go through the whole thing all over, finally Fri. I got a service window of between 11am and 12pm, didn't show up til 1:30pm, then was told he'd get it fixed today, but then decided he'd better tell me 2 days, they never even tried. SPECTRUM. What a shit show. My Mom who is on fixed income had brighthouse with a payment of 113/month. Well one month the bill overlooked and disconnected her service that was November. Now It's spectrum cable. And they are charging her 159.00 with only 20 mgbs for internet instead of 60 we had. She's in a fixed income I told them they Didn't care. They said because her service was disconnected it voided her offer. I don't get How these people or company can get away with this. It's Robbery. They just don't care for older people and this is just a way to get Rid of people who don't seem to meet there financial standards. Shame on you Specrtum. If you have an opportunity to go with another service provider, I would definitely do it. For the short time I had Bright House services (3 1/2 months), I regret going with them. When I signed up with them, they said they would charge me $96.28/mo for Internet (which is way overpriced for what I had with AT&T). However, in the second month, they raised my bill by $20 and said they could lower it to $101.28 using savings promos available to me. If they were available to me then why didn't you offer them in the first place? Oh right, because it's in the fine print! Folks, if you do sign up for Bright House then read the fine print. This should be done anyway but Bright House will exploit every chance they have to get as much money out of you as they can by making it hard for you to know what you're getting and how much you'll pay up front. Finally, when it came time to cancel my services (due to moving out of the Orlando area), the rep at Bright House told me that I would be getting a refund of $90 back because I had just paid the bill two weeks before so this was the pro-rated amount I would be getting back. Flash forward almost two months later - still no refund. I call them on Aug 3rd to inquire into the refund and I'm told it was mailed out on August 2nd. So I figured it would get here in a week. Nothing arrives. Called them back today and the rep tells me (for the first time, mind you) that it'll take six weeks to get to me. Six weeks? I asked her why it takes six weeks and her response was, "that's just the way we do it." I'm guessing the only way Bright House is still in business is that it has something to do with being a smaller company in a few local areas. I've never had this kind of treatment from companies like Comcast or AT&T. Although I know a lot of businesses do try to take advantage of their customers, I found Bright House to be the sketchiest of them all. After having Brighthouse for 10 years and never being late on any payment, without further ado they have doubled my bill since my promotion ended, a promotion that Brighthouse would simply renew every year. Lately, to appear that they are a "caring" company, they tried to run the scam of a program for seniors, but its only applicable for new customers, and to top it off all you can do is basically send emails, but no downloading and surfing is curtailed to be no faster than snail. Spectrum / Brighthouse has to be the worse run "service" company in America. They suck! If I could give them less that one star, I would. I have Spectrum's internet TV and phone bundle. I had that prior to my move in Feb 2017. All they had to do was change addresses, not services. The services were to stay the same. I was supposed to keep my home phone number during the move. They required me to disconnect and move all of their equipment. They showed up the day after the move as scheduled to reconnect everything. The tech hooked everything up at our new place. He checked the home phone which was working. But we were not getting any calls for months which is not unusual - we are cell phone people. Yesterday a friend tried to call on our house phone, but then called my cell and asked why I did not pick up the house phone. I said it did not ring. So I called "my home phone number" that I had for almost two years. It rang over my cell phone, but did not ring on the desk right next to me. I discovered that Spectrum changed my home phone number. I called the customer service number. They were polite and offered me $50, but the $50 was only to cover the AT&T bill for a few days, if I could get AT&T to turn on my old account and home phone number so Spectrum could 'port it in". They refused to call AT&T even though this was their screw-up. Well anyway, AT&T said "No we are going to do that." ( AT&T sucks just as bad as Spectrum.) So, now I have to call and / or login to 40-50 accounts (memberships, pensions plans, credit card companies, brokers, banks, utilities, and credit unions to clean up Spectrum's screw-up. This is going to take about 4-6 hours of my time to fix THEIR mistake. They have polite staff at their call services, but they are a mess at truly executing good customer service and don't take responsibility to fix their screw-ups. Spectrum or AT&T - it is like trying to say you have to choose which to step on.....a cobra or a blank mamba snake. If there is a class action suit somewhere against Spectrum, sign me up! I have been a Bright house customer for 10 years but that does not matter to the rude, obnoxious customer service agents. This is the worst cable company I have ever dealt with. My cable and internet service periodically goes out for hours at a time, and after more than 6 service calls they still couldn't figure out what the problem was. Fortunately I am moving and won't have to put up with them any longer. They nevertheless found a way to screw that up, as they cancelled my service earlier than I requested. Despite telling them repeatedly to end it on the first day of the next month, they stopped service several days early. Bright House is now Spectrum! That's what all the commercials say anyway, but watch out! At least BH seemed to care a little, even had a customer retention department that gave me a $20/month promotional credit. Now Spectrum sends a letter in Dec., saying the $20 credit is over in Jan., so I called and dropped and my internet speed from 100 to 60 MB for a savings of $15/month. What a coincidence that my Feb. bill has a $15 increase to my bundled services, which when I called I was pretty much told they just felt like increasing. And the tax is higher, so I'm now paying $1 more for slower internet. What a scam! I'm not real fond of Dish or DirectTV either, so until I can figure out a way to get by with Netflix, etc., I'm stuck. Can't wait to see the next increase... read more

The bill has increased $24.00 per month over the course of one year. The internet speed provided is advertised as 100 MBPS. After verifying my speed online I found that my speed fluctuates between less than 1 and 16 MBPS. When a technician came to reconfigure my modem I was told that there must be malware on my computer. I have several forms of antivirus so I knew this was not true. When I pulled out my laptop and showed him the speed was just as slow he tried to say I didn't have a NIC card on my laptop. Another blatant lie. When I called to complain about this and requested a different technician I was told I would have to pay extra for another service call and it would only be granted at the discretion of the technician. Ever since the change to Spectrum everything has gone downhill. Brighthouse was expensive to begin with. Now it's expensive with no customer service whatsoever. So my bill went up of course. Knew that was coming. Spoke with several representatives that basically told me "sucks to be you". I had one representative attempt to sell me on an even more expensive package ($200) and then after 30bdays call back and see if they might waive certain fees. No idea why he thought that was being helpful. Finally I just cut cable all together. Went with just Internet. That's $200 just to install it if you go with their fastest speed which they force you to do because who can stream Netflix on 60mbps. The technician that finally came out (was supposed to be out the previous just decided not to show) brought the wrong router 3 times. Asked him to change my WiFi name and password for convenience sake. Had no clue how to. I'm surprised it even works. This is just ridiculous. read more

I have been a Brighthouse customer for more than 10 years and for the last 4 years have subscribed to their ultra fast road runner service and it has been a frustrating nightmare. Signal loss is frequent and despite calling almost monthly to have them boost their signal, they still have me walk through the same protocol of turning off their modem, etc., which of course I have done before calling. Needless to say, they never admit the problem is on their end even though once they boost their signal, things start to work--for a short time. If there was another option, I would use it. Right now I am accessing the network via my the hotspot on my cell because again I have lost Internet. read more

They told me that the tech came to my house and I was not there so they canceled me. They offered a new window between 1pm-6pm, granted it was around 2pm at that time. Later when they called me at 5:30pm, they said it would be 7:30pm. She also told me that the first person who was suppose to be at my house at 8am-10am had an emergency and could not make. At this point I was about to cancel my service. Why did they have to lie? I wasted the entire day. The tech showed up about 30 minutes later around 6pm. I asked him why he was earlier than the 7:30pm. He looked surprised and said he talked to his staff and was on time. Where did 7:30pm come from? He also shared that the scheduling was questionable. They gave him 5 assignments to do from 8am-10am. He said there was no way he could do it. Therefore, you probably have more unsatisfied customers contacting you. All this occurred because I wanted to upgrade my internet service from the 20mbps to 60 or 90. I thought updating my modem would be the first step and easiest step. Boy was I mistaken. Now I have begun researching Direct TV and Century Link for my business unless you can convince me why I should stay with Brighthouse. read more

ive been a roadrunner turbo subscriber for over 5 years now. and still to this day i curse this company. the internet is literally the worst cable signal ever. they're signal loss is legendary. if you call they send the most incompetent techs out to your door, who fidgit for hours, disregard your opinions, and finally leave saying its fixed even though 1-2 days later your back to having signal loss. when a network technician like me says the issue is on the line coming from the road, why is it sooo hard to simply have it checked? i would love to goto someone else, but fios isn't in my area, nor is Comcast. all that's left is DSL....which ide rather stab my own eyes out than use. so for the future if you can use anyone and i mean anyone else(aside form a dsl, or satellite provider) use them. avoid brighthouse if you can. read more
