Dr.P did my 4yr old grandson and when I say he did SO good with my boy it was unbelievable. His mouth looked SOOOO good when Dr was finished! Dr P and the staff at the hospital kept me updated the entire surgery from start to finish. When my granddaughters turn came up Dr.P wasn't available so he intrusted another dentist from Lincolnton to her due to pushing surgery back for school to be out. HE was JUST as good. Kept us informed every step and put GOD guiding his hands and my granddaughter as priority. It was SO refreshing to know he is a praying man, doing everything he could to do a great job and each patient is his TOP concern. Unfortunately bc it was our first time meeting him, for the life of me I can't remember his name but if you EVER need help and for whatever reason they can't get to you there at happy teeth ask them for their surgical partner in Lincolnton. So now I'm setting an appt for my 3rd baby to have something done about her thumb sucking that my granddaughters surgeon recommend before HER perfect teeth become a bigger, MORE expensive problem than JUST braces he advised she may need in the future if she doesn't stop sucking her thumb right NOW. We went for the consultation on braces and told the two teeth needed to be removed BEFORE BRACEs we went back to Happy Teeth the doctor did not remove them he sent us back for braces crazy. Orthodontist asked about teeth again I told him Happy Teeth sent us back for braces after my child got braces Dentist tried to remove teeth but, couldn't bc , my child's mouth was still sore from braces being put on three days before so, they refunded my money and I had to spend over a $1000 at a specialist office bc, the doctor at Happy teeth dropped the ball. Icing on the cake my oldest aged out and I had to call even though we signed the papers 6 months before for her appt at her new dental office they NEVER sent her records I had to call. With my youngest we moved her to our family dental office bc, Happy Teeth dropped the ball so many times I signed all the paper work 3 weeks ago and gave it to Valerie and today at my youngest appt I had to once again call bc, they didn't send the records over. It's a great place for kids and started out great but. They constantly started dropping the ball and I questioned my bill several times granted it is only $49 and was told conflicting things each time they were in network then they weren't then they were. It just became too much and too many issues. Again they were nice but, too many problems happened that should not of happened. That's why I gave them a three.

I was fine paying out of pocket for a second treatment until I heard the price; $18 more per child than what my other dentist charges across town. I know this because two of my kids go to that office and were just seen there. I explained that I was planning to move my younger two children to Growing Smiles, but asked if they could match the other office's fluoride price. The manager told me their prices are set and that I should go to the dentist that's best for my family. So, I did. By refusing to adjust for a $72 difference, the manager lost our business; all four of my children are now patients at the other dentist. It's disappointing that a simple pricing decision outweighed long-term relationships and loyalty.

This doctor told us he had 2 of them and was even willing to sedate my child to treat what wasn't there. THANK GOD things went left and I didn't end up letting him near my son again!!! Brought my son in for sealants and for two cavities. He was extremely scared and wouldn't tolerate even with gas. He wasn't kicking or anything. He was just crying and scared. Dr suggested sedation but that was $1050. I asked if the doctor would be willing to prescribe something my son could take before coming in and trying again but he refused. Then I asked if he would be willing to try again with my husband bringing him in and they said yes but they would charge me $200 for behavioral management. Seems that this doctor cares more about money than helping his patients and their families. I will never set foot in this practice except to get my sons medical records. I'm left feeling totally uncared for and used. I do not recommend. UPDATE: Dr. reached out to me after I requested my medical records trying to justify his fees and it felt like he tried to make me feel unreasonable for being unhappy about his behavioral management fee. and then offered to fill my sons cavities for free because he "cares about my son and wants him to have his treatment".. I'm sorry... I believe people when they show me who they are the first time. A free treatment isn't going to restore my trust at this point. I suspect it would later be dangled over my head. Plus, I don't need free anything! I'm willing to pay for what needs to be paid for. Now just waiting on medical records to be emailed to me.

Most people dread going to the dentist but I actually enjoy my visits with Dr. Crawford and his staff. I lived in Charlotte most of my life but I moved to Asheville a little over 20 years ago. I still drive to Charlotte (a 4 1/2 hour round trip) for my dental visits because I am convinced that I will never find another dentist with whom I am so confident.
