I graduated from Bright Star back in 2006 and till this very day I remember Ms. Lisa and Ms. Vicky. I remember all the fun times I had coming here and the feeling of safety and security. Mrs. Lisa and her assistant, Mrs. Vickie provided my son with age appropriate activities that incorporated learning with play. My son and the other students were given a variety of nutritious home cooked lunches prepared by Mrs. Lisa's mother. March 2021, the pandemic started and the world shut down. Mrs. Lisa was in contact with my family throughout the closure. Checking up on my son, sharing links to YouTube videos she has made for the children of her reading some great stories and providing information of county official updates on reopening. When Bright Start had the green light to open back up all the precautions were in place. My family was completely at ease with our son returning to school knowing that Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Vickie were taking all the necessary steps to keep the students safe. Fall of 2020 my son started Kinder virtually. My husband and I were working during the pandemic and were unable to stay home with him to assist with virtual learning. Mrs. Lisa graciously offered for him to come to Bright Start to attend his virtual kindergarten class. This worked out amazing. It provided my son with the routine of being present in a classroom. Mrs. Lisa had prepared a specific area within the classroom where he was able to concentrate on his virtual class with all his books, paper and supplies within reach. Mrs. Lisa was constantly accessible to my son to help him with his class work. Everyday after my sons virtual class Mrs. Lisa would go above and beyond by working with him one on one to help him seamlessly transition to first grade despite the unfortunate time of his kinder class being virtual . She helped him with both phonics and math. My son was actually accepted into a magnet/highly gifted program for first grade 2021-2022. It offers a small student to teacher ratio, with twelve students or so, which is what I preferred. I highly recommend parents to enroll their son/daughter in Bright Start Preschool. I first learned about this wonderful preschool from my cousin who enrolled her son years ago. Upon our family tour in 2019, I loved the school director and teacher, Mrs. Lisa (a.k.a. Elizabeth Reyna Sanchez), right from the start. The school is located in a residential area and the classroom is a home fully redesigned as a complete classroom environment. The yard is a fun spot with little houses, slides, and tricycles for kids to get out their energy and play. During the tour, we were given a thorough explanation of the curriculum provided and the many wonderful subjects that would be taught thematically throughout the year. She gave us the schedule and other valuable handouts in order for us to fully be informed about how Bright Start Preschool functions. I recognized many Lakeshore curriculum materials and that really impressed me. I love the schedule for the day and the structure provided for Circle Time, Group Activities, and the Child Directed and Enhancement Activities (i.e., manipulatives, language, math, cooking, art, and science). I am a former elementary teacher so I know an excellent and prepared educator when I see one. My spouse and I visited several preschools throughout the Valley to make our decision, and we made the right choice. My daughter attended from Sept 2020 to June 2021 and graduated from Preschool on June 11, 2021. Mrs. Lisa and the second teacher, Mrs. Vicki, ran a fantastic program. Student work was displayed everywhere, organized by themes. The classroom was extremely kid-centered and colorfully inviting. Each area of the classroom had a purpose such as where students can read books, where students gather to start the day to review the calendar, several small tables to work, a place to play with toys, and so-forth. One of my favorite parts of the day was that Mrs. Lisa made the time to have students learn the Pledge of Allegiance and recite it to start each day. It gave me so much joy and pride to hear my little girl recite it. I also loved how Mrs. Lisa had activities for Halloween (kids got to dress in costumes), Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter (egg hunt was organized for kids), and more. My daughter incredibly benefited from the Full Day program, attending 3 days a week. My daughter learned to write the alphabet letters, identify and write numbers, shapes, and so much more. She also painted, colored, and did so many arts and crafts projects. My daughter looked forward to school every single day. Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Vicki were so attentive, kind, and caring for all the children. They created such a beautiful and welcoming classroom community. Given a small student population, my daughter learned so much because the student to teacher ratio was a low number. My daughter always shared all the things she learned, academic or social, and this for me was a testament to the positive impact Bright Start Preschool made upon my daughter. Ms. Lisa is absolutely organized and so professional in all communication by providing memos and communicating via a phone app called Brightwheel. I also enjoyed when she occasionally sent pictures of my daughter doing various activities. I like her two-part security system that all parents (or authorized person on list) must use the Brightwheel app to check their child in and out. The second part requires that one press a buzzer so she can view visitors on a camera and then she remotely unlocks the door to allow one to pick up one's child. Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Vicki took every health precaution to keep the students safe, given the Covid-19 pandemic affecting us all. I appreciated every requirement to keep my daughter safe such as doing temperature checks to check-in, requiring students to keep their masks on at all times (except to eat), wash their hands often, and keeping their distance. They kept things so clean and sanitized. Overall, Bright Start is a wonderful and loving educational preschool environment. You and your child will always be welcomed with a smile and your child will learn so many important educational and social skills. I appreciate all Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Vicki did to make my daughter's graduation from preschool and end-of-the-year activities special, even though it was done differently because of the ongoing pandemic. Ms Liza is the best! I am so lucky I found this gem in my neighborhood. She has many years of experience and you can tell a difference in your child. My boy is mischievous and she knows how to discipline him and even gives me tips. She gives every parent a daily recap on their day which I really appreciate. My daughter started her preschool career at a local preschool which shall remain nameless. We quickly realized that it was a very static learning environment. The children were allowed to play for a bit, nap, then play some more. There was no learning going on whatsoever and I knew I had to get my daughter out of there before she turned into a vegetable. When a spot opened up at Bright Start, I jumped all over it. (Bright Start was full at the time so she was placed at the vegetable school while we waited for a spot.) What a difference a day makes! My daughter began singing songs and coming home with new things she had learned. She worked on projects, learned about sharing, patience, using her inside voice and many other things. Bright Start Preschool truly caters to a child's individual personality and learning needs. Ms. Lisa is patient, kind and simply wonderful with the children. She understands each child and openly and honestly communicates with the parents about how their child is doing and behaving. She set up a fair system for tracking a child's behavior and she quickly communicates any issues that may arise. From the time the children arrive, they are learning. I saw dramatic improvement in my daughter's behavior, vocabulary and skills that she picked up while there. While she graduated from Bright Start some time ago, she is a proud graduate and I feel blessed to have been able to send her there. I trust Ms. Lisa wholeheartedly to provide the same care for my child or your child than she would provide for her own children. This review is long overdue. I did a lot of interviews and have toured different schools before I decided to enroll my son in Bright Start Preschool. When we met Ms. Lisa, I knew it would be the best for my son and I was right. We couldn't have picked a better preschool to enroll my son into. The school was super clean and food was cooked fresh. Being a working mom, I needed to find a school where I felt my son was in a nurturing/loving environment. This school exceeded our expectation. When he started, he was so shy and nervous. My son thrived socially. He made friends, learned about differences and his confidence grew. He has learned so much during his stay here. They also teach the kids respect and kindness. I finally got my peace of mind back when our little girl enrolled to this little bundle of heaven! To tell you the truth I am very anxious person and "not easy to deal with" type :).... After spending way too much money for private daycares, overpriced "preschools" and other snobby well-polished facilities, we came to meet Ms. Lisa.....5 minutes of our conversation and I was about to hug this precious person :)...crying! My daughter just graduated from Bright Start Preschool in June and can't find the words to describe what a wonderful experience Bright Start Preschool was for my family. Miss Lisa is truly a wonderful teacher who takes the time to get to know each child's personality, needs and strengths and builds upon their strengths to help them succeed. Miss Lisa and Miss Vicky have a lot of experience (over 10 years) and they have only about 14 children at a time. It is sometimes hard to get in because they want to make sure they continue to provide the same individualized attention to their students. I researched about 10 to 15 preschools before choosing to sent my child to Bright Start. I chose Bright Start because of personal recommendations from a friend, but also because in all my communications and visits with Miss Lisa she showed great professionalism, patience and a great understanding of how to help children have a successful first experience with school. Miss Lisa teaches children their ABCs, shapes, numbers, colors, opposites, the calendar, they also have different units on the planets, caterpillars, the seasons, and much more. Academically, Miss Lisa does a wonderful job teaching children everything they need to have a successful experience in Kindergarten. My child began to read in her school and to write her first words! Her K teacher has complimented my daughter's preschool (without knowing them) for providing her with such a solid base of knowledge. In addition to the academics, Miss Lisa and Miss Vicky teach the students how to interact with each other, how to talk to each other to resolve conflict, to follow the rules, to share, to take turns, to show empathy, and they do this through warm support, rewards, and a very effective, non-harsh, discipline plan. All of this would be enough to make Miss Lisa's school the best, but she goes above and beyond, providing them home-cooked meals, additional materials related to the units that they are studying (they have caterpillars in the class to learn from observing as well as reading about what they are learning), organizing a trike-a-thon to raise funds for St. Jude's so that kids can learn about helping others, she also has a fall celebration to which she hires a clown and magician to do a special show for the kids. And she does all this with a warm smile, with consistent communications about your child's progress, a clean school, and an affordable price. My child attended Bright Start for 2 years and loved Mrs Lisa and her assistant Ms Vicki. They are both excellent educators who have patience with 3 & 4 year olds. I just got a message from Mrs. Lisa asking how my son was doing in kindergarten. This is the type of school Bright Start is, caring and loving. My son went there for 2 1/2 years and learned so much, and was ready for kinder. Began to learn how to ready, write, add and subtract. They had music class once a week which was an extra plus. During the summer they had cooking class and water days to make it fun for the kids. Finding a trustworthy place may be hard but Bright Start made it easy. Where should I start? From the second I met Mrs. Lisa there was no comparing her to other teachers that I had the opportunity to audit. It's a family affair and my son fell in love with her entire family. You will not find a warmer, more caring preschool in the Valley. The amount of detail she puts into her curriculum is a testament to the skill level her kids achievement prior to kindergarten. She individually prepares each kid for Kindergarten and quite frankly thinks about things I never would have considered for my child. This is not a daycare, your child will be prepped for Kindergarten. My child was tested at a private school and passed with flying colors for Kindergarten readiness, in fact, everyone proceeded to Kindergarten that was eligible from Mrs. Lisa's class. However, your child will have so much fun learning that it will be an easy, natural transition for them. It's very nice that she opens at 7:30am and closes at 5:30 pm if you need aftercare. Mrs. Lisa's mom cooks hot meals for the kids. I had a picky eater so I packed a lunch for the 1st two weeks but after only a few days Mrs. Lisa had him eating what the class was served each day. They get snacks throughout the day so my little guy was never sent home hungry. Her Halloween & Holiday parties were so special. I will never forget how my son's face would light up when the Magician did tricks or Santa brought him a special gift. Mrs. Lisa & Mrs. Vickie taught my son so many life lessons and social skills. They are very in tune with even the slightest change in your child. This place was a true blessing in our life and I'm sure my son will be visiting them throughout his life like so many of her other previous students. read more

I was very selective when picking a school for my little girl. She was only 3 when she started at Bright Start. She was there for 2 years and sadly we had to leave since my little girl moved to kinder. I have to say this is the best school in the valley! I searched for 6 months for a school for my little one. I'm an observer and I'd would notice in other schools they're so nice to you when you're touring and then a kid comes up and they react not so nice, that's because other schools have staff that do it for the money or because it's a job. At Bright Start, Ms. Lisa, does it because she loves the kids and loves what she does! It's very clear with the caring, love and attention she devotes to those kids everyday. During Halloween she even hires a magician to entertain the kids! During Christmas she gets Santa to come by and gives presents to the kids! She doesn't ask for a dime from the parents for that! What other school does that?! Her lovely mother cooks homemade food for the kids for their lunch! And the tuition is so so affordable. To top it all, my little daughter who learned so much and was very ready for kinder thanks to Ms. Lisa and Ms. Vickie and my oldest (who went to Bright Start during the holidays), they love Ms. Lisa like a family member! You really can't go wrong with this pre-school. It is really the best pre-school in the valley. read more

My son attended this school last year, so I can get him ready for kindergarten and he had a great experience, so much that he misses it. Ms. Lisa really knows how to work with children I highly recommend her to anyone. read more
