What sets Sno Spring apart from other schools is the incredible stability and dedication of the staff. Unlike schools with high turnover rates, most of the teachers here have been teaching for 10+ years. Every single teacher is loving, caring, and truly dedicated to their profession. Academically, the school is fantastic. They do a wonderful job accommodating math and reading levels to match each student's individual progress. My younger son started in preschool with very little English. After just one year, he was reading independently at an AR level of 1.4. Now in 1st grade, he is a confident reader at level 5.1! We are so impressed with his academic achievements, but that's only half the story. Beyond the academic, the teachers encourage the kids to behave properly, build confidence, and make friends. My son has developed into a caring, responsible kid. Today was his last day as he moves to a new private school. He cried the whole afternoon since he didn't want to leave. He told me that he feels loved every single day and that what he will miss most are the teachers who taught him not just knowledge, but how to be a confident person who cares for others. We are so grateful. Strongly recommend this school to all families!

She is known to and clearly loved by all the teachers, not just those in charge of her own class (orange). When she arrives in the morning, teachers passing by in the hall greet her by name and she smiles and runs to hug them. When she leaves in the afternoon, she waves goodbye to everyone she sees. At home she talks constantly about her friends and teachers, sings songs and shares new concepts she learned there, and is always excited to go back. The teachers are also understanding and accommodating. For example, the lead teacher for our daughter's class (who knows all the parents, kids, and their siblings by name) is preparing to leave the school but ensured 1-2 months of overlap with her successor so the kids have lots of time to bond with the new lead teacher and have a smooth transition. She has also been supportive as we explored the idea of potty training (even though that's something they usually focus on more in the next class up). It was important to us to find a place that had some light curriculum but emphasized the importance of play and socialization over just teaching, and we found that in The Rainbow School. Plus, the value can't be beat. Parents who have toured other big centers in the area will notice that the menu is simple, "kid-friendly" food rather than the organic menus offered at some other big centers, which may not work for everyone. But at the end of the day our kiddo is eating and sleeping, she is learning and playing, and she is very well loved. For these reasons, we feel we have found somewhere pretty special.

Some of them have been here a very long time which says something about this place. They're happy individuals who greet me and chat with me everyday when I drop off and pick up. They're energetic, and create age appropriate class activities that support a little one's imagination, and they display a genuine care for my children. Mary, Joy, and Pam are great at what they do. They communicate well and support you as a parent. There are nice little bonus when a child attends here as well. If you have to take your kids to a school, and you want to know that they are cared for and loved. Having a good time and thriving as best they can outside of being with their family. This is that school for me, and I am blessed to have Mary and the staff here.

As a family although we aren't native French speakers, however our kids learnt the language so quickly. It's an excellent bilingual immersion school, which offers a strong academic curriculum in both French and English in an experiential learning approach via projects related to Art, Science, Mathematics, Sports, History etc... throughout the year, field trips, outside in authors visiting to talk to students along with exchange opportunities with schools in France. French Immersion school of Washington is one of the most diverse schools in the greater Seattle area. I would strongly recommend the school for families who are considering Bilingual immersion program in the Greater Seattle area.

What differentiate this school from other bilingual schools or public schools? (1) The caliber of the teachers and staff. We were impressed with how well the school were run, the caliber, passion, and flexibility of teachers. (2) Small class with attentive teachers. Over the course of last 6 years, FISW helps to raise our kids to be open-minded, kind, inquisitive, adaptable, and curious about the world, students are simulated to learn through observation, inquiry, exploration, play and creation, vs pure memorization. The school also has many events and activities to bring the parents and community together. This is the best choice we've made.

I am almost reticent to share how fantastic this school is because I selfishly want to keep numbers down But, I feel like I need to write a review since the last review was written two years ago, about a teacher who is gone, based entirely on food (as opposed to academics, parent involvement, great staff etc). I cannot say enough good things about Carson. Academics are terrific and in particular our 4/5th grade teachers do a superior job of preparing kids for middle school. The staff is upbeat and nurturing, the actual facility itself is the most recently built in town, our options for after school programs are varied and great and we have a tremendous number of parents willing to volunteer. We are also one of only a couple elementary schools in town that participate in a several day and night outdoor education trip for 5th graders. I'm not sure a lot of kids get to dissect squid, canoe, use a climbing wall, take nature walks and enjoy nighttime bonfires as part of their elementary school education! I've put three children through Carson and wholeheartedly endorse it. And I have never had snack issues.

She is learning things, making friends, talking about her day with excitement, talking about her friends, and the activities she did. The staff, from the director to the teachers, are responsive and detail-oriented. I receive weekly update on the learning plan and menu. Before the pandemic, there were several events where parents can get involved, for some you can meet other parents. Now that we are in the pandemic, they have cancelled all the in-person events for parents and established stricter protocols in the center regarding drop-off and pick-ups, and parents cannot go pass the front desk anymore. I am actually fine with the protocols as long as they can keep the virus at bay, and they have. In conclusion, I would recommend this center to any parents! The hard lesson I learned during the pandemic is that a reliable daycare is absolutely key to the parents. Parents not only need time to work, they also need to know their kids are safe. Bright Horizons at the Highlands, has exceeded my expectation so far!

Other than that all seems good to us so far.

Most of my class parents say they wish they went to school like this one :) We found this school at perfect timing when my daughter was in 3rd grade. The admission process is unique & experiential. I attended the open house with my daughter who made an instant connection with her class teacher and was happily engaged without me. At this point, I had toured another school in Seattle, and seeing my daughter's comfort and confidence blossom we knew this was the right place for our family. The part I found most significant in Waldorf admission, my daughter has 3 day visit where she could experience how it is for be in new classmates and teacher. I think respecting school policy as stated on the website is a no brainer to me. In my opinion, to fully enjoy your child's milestones, it's beneficial for adults to orient themselves to Waldorf education. The teachers are amazing. They deeply listen to your challenges, and partner with you to raise a well-rounded child. If you know a student here, do check out their handwork, main lesson books. As a parent, I feel centered in this environment given the busyness of work and day. I find strength to keep going with perspective our teachers provide, events like the Winter Spiral, Crafts & Tea. It takes a village, and I found a like-minded community, and people I can lean on, fostered a thriving academic journey for my middle schooler. The highly trained teachers and wonderful staff work tirelessly to create a learning environment that emphasizes connection with nature, a robust curriculum, handwork, and the art and play block. No tech has provided a foundation for mindful screen use and fostering focus in early years for us. Check out the instagram page!! Good luck!
