During our school tour, the Director Ms. Deepika told us that Stellar is not only committed to educating children academically, but more importantly, to inspiring their passion and curiosity for learning and encouraging them to explore. We deeply resonate with this philosophy, and it was one of the main reasons we decided to join Stellar right away. I've already recommended Stellar to many of my friends and family, here's why: 1. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and responsible. Since my son joined Stellar, we've been pleasantly surprised by his daily growth and progress, not only in knowledge, but also in emotional development, self-regulation, and discipline. He has learned to be patient and take turns, to share with others, and to use gentle hands. He throws fewer tantrums, has become kinder, and even helps clean up his own toys. 2. My kid is also noticeably more cheerful and expressive. His vocabulary has grown rapidly, and he can now engage in full conversations and communicate clearly. He can count, and every day at school he participates in crafts and art activities. At home, he continues to want to read, sing, and draw, these are all things that Stellar has helped nurture in him. 3. When I mentioned to the teachers that my child was a picky eater, they patiently encouraged and supported him during lunchtime to ensure he got the nutrition he needed. Over time, he began finishing most of his lunch and reached a healthy weight. The teachers always take parents' concerns seriously and do their best to support both the child and the family, which I truly appreciate. 4. External Environment: The school is located near major transportation hubs, yet nestled within a quiet residential neighborhood. It's peaceful, convenient, and has easy parking. 5. Campus Environment: The classrooms and various facilities are very clean. The entire campus gives me a strong sense of cleanliness, safety, comfort, and simplicity, exactly the kind of warm and welcoming atmosphere I look for in a daycare.

Northlake Academy was the most disappointing school experiences we've had, out of 4 private schools…read morein the area with our 3 kids. It's close, cheap, but that's about it. Teachers leave, curriculums are disorganized. Despite the small class sizes, our children received little support from staff over the years until we called it quits. Teachers mostly blame kids and parents during teacher parent conferences. Communication was very difficult, especially with the principal's sporadic and illogical blame emails and "no reasons for concerns". Teachers aren't native speakers with thick accents, the qualified teachers left for other schools. ITBS scores are faked, since they spend a month rehearsing almost the same tests and memorizing. Many kids we know were not qualified for accelerated classes at other schools. The restrictive year-long contract signed in Jan/Feb leaves families locked-in before final grades and staff changes. They don't release contracts and brush away parental concerns.

He also looks forward to his Coding class every week, and I can already see how it's strengthening his logical thinking and problem-solving abilities. I especially like how each child gets individualized attention and the teacher works at the kid's pace to ensure a solid foundation. This is another kindercare franchise so they follow rules strictly and they maximize teacher student ratios according to state laws. Few things I didn't like though was for 1, I had a muddy buddy outfit I wanted my son to wear if they play in the rain but they didn't allow it because it's too inconvenient for them but they rather change all his clothes completely! The thing that bothers me most is the star system the teachers implement. Each day if they behaved, they get a star at the end of the day. If they did something bad and didn't listen to the teacher, they don't get a star. I am then suppose to punish him at home by taking away something he loves. This old rewards system is not implemented in a lot of schools anymore and other educators that I've talked to said it's not recommended to use anymore. My son gets so fixated on the damn star, he cries when he doesn't get it sometimes I don't think it's right. Another thing that bugged me the most is that there was 1 child in the class that was particularly disruptive. She told me exactly who it was and how my son thinks it's funny when the "bad" kid did something he's not suppose to and follows him. Blaming another 3 year old and labeling him is just not professional. They were very nice and made a goodbye scrapbook of my son as a goodbye gift. Somehow the poem they inside had the wrong child's name . I think 1 teacher to 10 kids is just too much for them to focus on them. For those reasons, I took my son out.

I wanted my sons to learn how to play well with others within a loose structure. 2. Community-driven. I wanted to experience a group of "real" parents, who can appreciate (and at times commiserate) all the highs and lows of parenting. 3. Affordable. As a single-income family at the time, we needed something that we could both afford and met our standards. (My husband and I are both educators.) Kirkland Co-Op Preschool both met and exceeded our expectations. But the thing that has probably surprised us the most is the families and friends we've met along the way. My husband and I have expanded our "tribe" to include many of the families we've met at KCP, I'm so glad we made the choice to join. Our sons have been nurtured by not only the teachers at KCP, but also by the parents. The parent involvement piece is a big commitment, but our kids have benefited immensely from it. And I have been able to witness their growth in the classroom the whole time. It's been a really precious experience. Our twins are going to kindergarten this fall, but our youngest is going into Group II this year. If you're looking for a place for your family to find true community this is the place for you! I highly recommend it.
