Some of the best teachers we've met on all our tours: Compared to teachers at other schools, they just felt one tier above in multiple ways through the way they approached our son, how they answered our questions, and the warmth they exuded. Nurturing and competent teachers with 50/50 Chinese and English. It's very clear they care and love the children. 3. Amazing selection of toys and stations for play: The space was well organized with a large selection of toys and stations that I could see were great for educational development masked as fun. 4. Healthy catered diverse lunch and snacks included - yay! 5. We're not Christian but appreciated the focus around Christian values of how to be good considerate citizens. That was the main goal for being a Christian school. 6. 6. Great prices for all you get: Price is really reasonable when you have all things offered with food provided wrapped together. It's comparably priced to most of the other Montessori Chinese immersion schools, less than the more expensive ones. For the quality and everything that you're getting, it felt very worth the price. We were living in Seattle and ideally wanted to send our toddler to a Chinese immersion Montessori school since my husband and I both work remotely and didn't want English to be the main language our kiddo was exposed to 24/7 but were open to all options; but we cared most about quality clean environment, teaching methodology, and good teachers/childcare professionals. We were so impressed by Shamrock we decided to move to Bellevue and send our toddler son there. He has been attending the Shamrock toddler class since he was 17 months old starting Sept 2025. He LOVES WenTing and Tandra who are his teachers and we can tell bc he runs into the class everyday, says how much he loves Tandra and WenTing, and talks about school to us at home. Despite our concerns it only took him one week to fully adjust and since attending he has not been sent home sick once!!! Anecdotal evidence of just how clean and how seriously they take sanitation practices at their school. I'm sure the other schools would have been great too but he's grown so much since going and we really couldn't imagine sending our kid anywhere else at this point.

Shamrock is truly a shamrock of schools - unique, special, and a loving environment for the kids. No school is perfect, but to me, I feel that Shamrock does a better job of educating my daughter than I could at home, and I trust the school 100%. Any time we have concerns, we have been able to discuss and resolve them with the school, and the teachers and administrators are open to feedback and constantly improving. This to me is more important than being "perfect" or "the best". The school and staff show a humility and love that is rare in daycare and early school settings. I also want to emphasize that Shamrock is a true Montessori school. Montessori is trendy now, and there are many schools claiming to be Montessori. I am familiar with Montessori as I practice at home. A true Montessori school doesn't just have the appropriate materials and work - it must be Montessori in spirit. Teachers must respect the individuality and progress of each child, and accept them for who they are, where they are, all while guiding them to improve and learn. I believe Shamrock does all of this, and I see it in my daughter. I am sending my younger daughter there in the fall. If you care about your child's spiritual, social and emotional development, about them being in a loving and caring and authentic environment, then Shamrock is the right place for your child's early years.

They're energetic, and create age appropriate class activities that support a little one's imagination, and they display a genuine care for my children. Mary, Joy, and Pam are great at what they do. They communicate well and support you as a parent. There are nice little bonus when a child attends here as well. If you have to take your kids to a school, and you want to know that they are cared for and loved. Having a good time and thriving as best they can outside of being with their family. From the beginning, she was reluctant to go to school, though at her age (3 years old) she couldn't clearly express why. On the administrative side, I often found communication confusing and overly bureaucratic. The primary care director frequently stepped in when issues arose in the classroom, but her messages did not always align with the teachers', and she did not appear to have decision-making authority. When we finally decided to withdraw our daughter after several difficult months, the process was particularly challenging. We submitted our withdrawal notice one day later than the contract required (on a Sunday rather than Saturday). While I acknowledge that this was our oversight, the financial impact was in the thousands of dollars, and the school was unwilling to make any accommodation. Discussions with the primary director, assistant head, head of school, and eventually the owner all reinforced the sense that policies were rigid and prioritized the business side over the child's well-being or the family's situation. I later spoke with another parent who had a very similar experience regarding withdrawal fees, which made me realize this was not an isolated case. To be fair, there are dedicated teachers at Arbor, and I know some children do well there. However, if challenges arise, families should be prepared for limited flexibility and a process that may feel more focused on contractual obligations than collaborative problem-solving.

The small class sizes mean that the teachers can really give each child individual attention: most often, lessons are one-on-one. This school has a great balance between discipline and freedom. Kids are allowed to choose what works they do, within reason, but the environment never feels hectic. My son was very shy and worried when he first started preschool and he had really blossomed in this environment. I think having consistent familiar teachers for all three years made a difference. They were willing to be patient with him and work slowly at his level until he was ready to open up. Financially speaking, this school is a really good deal for what you get. 5 days a week, 2.5 hours a day. The price is higher than a church-run play school, but much cheaper than a day care school, and the educational quality is much better than either of them. I love that my son really learned things instead of played all day, but did it in an age-appropriate way (no worksheets, no sitting at a desk). He was always so excited about the new things he had learned and remembered them years later.

As a Bellevue School District teacher, I appreciate the communication I receive about what she is learning in class. My wife and I are empowered to ask questions about what she is learning in class thanks to the weekly themes and regular progress updates. Students going through the Montessori method are regularly creating things they can bring home with them, so we get a piece of her learning back with us nearly every day. The kinds of soft skills that Lake Hills Montessori enforces is on display anytime you go to visit. Classroom procedures and expectations are clear and transparent, and you regularly can observe students working on and teachers giving feedback about those procedures. This enables a classroom environment that is remarkably calm and focused for students as young as three years old. Our daughter is full of energy 24/7, but this program has an excellent way of channeling and focusing students learning during their time there. As a music teacher, I also appreciate the use of song and the recognition of composers throughout the school year. The implementation of music is clear when we drive home and hear fragments of new songs and lyrics that we don't recognize. This provides one more way for us to interact with our daughter about her education, seeking out videos of the music she is learning and singing with her at home. The staff at this school are kind and nurturing while also being fierce professionals at what they do. The intentional preparation and attention to detail is evident from the first visit when we met the staff and continues with each visit afterwards. We are both so thankful for this excellent program!
