At least, from the outside, it looks great. Yesler Terrace Park About the park itself, it's a very cool park. Covered in artificial turf without the gritty bits (or maybe those are all rubbed off by now), the playsets are inviting and well maintained in excellent condition. During our visit, multiple families and children were playing here. Always a good sign for the park! This adult may or may not have went down the slides a few times. I'm not telling. The 10th Avenue S Hillclimb Located slightly south of the park, these stairs connect the housing community to the International District. It's WONDERFULLY designed with a central set of stairs (north-south), a bike groove, and a ramp walk (east-west) decorated with glass mosaic art. This is a must visit to enjoy these art. Hoa Mai Gardens Between the Hilclimb and park is Hoa Mai Gardens. The Gardens itself is a community p-patch, nothing exciting, but there is additional mosaic art here with ladybug theme. Other notes: - Enjoy the view while standing above the park or along Fir Street and see the stadiums and beyond. - Enjoy the many art pieces and murals that dot the community. - I suggest doing the walk that cuts through between Yesler & Fir, 8th and Broadway diagonally also. They can really exercise with them :) It gets funnier by the middle of the pool with them :) Perfect depth to swim :) Clean water. Kids can also have some fun by the playground or sandpit! It has lots of toys inside it. They have to work a bit to get them out. I wish parks and Rec could have them out most of the time. At the same time is a good way to preserve them? :D Restrooms are just a few steps by the pool :) Don't forget not to run by the pool. Parking was easy this time just infront of the wading pool by a shade :) Cars coming both ways in narrow streets.

It also has this circular bar that you can grab onto, push off the edge with your feet, and spin around on- for some reason the girls seem to flock to this thing more than the boys! There are some smaller areas for smaller children. There is this really neat contraption that my son calls the Spider, with ropes for climbing. And there's a zip-line that's pretty nifty too. Baseball games can still be caught on the other side of the park. Plenty of benches and picnic tables for parents to watch the games while still keeping an eye on the kids. The other review is pretty old. This place isn't really secluded anymore and it definitely stays busy!

There's a great little railroad-themed playground that my son plays at. They have a fun wooden play set with a metal slide that's very zippy. Also, there's a baseball field that has games you can watch from the tree-shaded benches. I really like sitting there on a sunny summer day while the kids play. All around the park are railroad tracks with old train cars to look at. The first part of the park is tour standard neighborhood park. Very small at first glance i almost wanted to turn around and leave. There is a covered area, a jungle gym like structure, and Picnic areas for family bbqs. So glad they also had a public restroom as we needed to use It on the way out. If you venture deeper into the woods and follow the trails you will begin a maze like adventure full of winding trails. There are streams and bridges and views of the valleys. So nice. Multiple entrances/exits and paths to choose from. Very easy to get lost or turned around. Thankfully that have maps. We forsure got mixed up and had to rely on the maps. We had fun. There are a few swings, 3 climbing structures with slides, and a few spinning things. It gets busy around 3 p.m. on weekdays. The bathrooms are pretty decent, and there are a couple of pickleball courts right next to the playground. Around the perimeter of the playground is a woodsy area with wild blackberries. Folks bring bags to pick blackberries as their children play. Overall, a fun playground that will keep your kids entertained for hours.

A visit to Seattle's new Lakeridge Playground. Some kids…read moremight call this time of year "spring," but mine know it as "empty playground season." We took advantage of a recent rain break to visit Rainier Beach's newly opened Lakeridge Playground. We had the place to ourselves all morning! Fairy tale fans: Do you remember how Goldilocks tries large, medium and small chairs before finding the perfect fit? That's how my kids reacted to the new play space. The tallest structure features a net climber with rings, a net arch and a big slide. The smallest structure, geared towards the 2-5-year-old age group, has a climbing wall and drums that entertained them for a little while, but overall was too easy.  The middle structure? The kids completed circuit after circuit of bounding across the jungle gym and then giving the rainbow sensory panel a spin before scaling the tower to wave at me from the top. There are double slides for downhill races, and a roller slide that makes your voice warble on the way down.  This new neighborhood play area is a great destination. Just remind me how much we love "empty playground season". My kids (8 years and 5 years) absolutely loved this playground.
