The corners in the back looked like they had never been cleaned. Because of the mattress, remember therapy only three hours a day and the other 22 in bed, our loved one has needed extensive chiropractic care because of that. PAM care is poor. I don't know what else to say. Therapy was just nothing - on a child's level. No aggressive therapy. They say if it hurts don't do it. If you went by that philosophy a person would remain an invalid. You know, everyone - literally everyone is just going through the motions and can't wait until it's time to go home. If you don't have someone who can stay with your loved one at least 12 hours, I pity your loved one. Many things will not get done for them. Also, and this is very important - the most important thing is that they offer no financial assistance to anyone - no one!! Most hospitals have "charity care" for those under the federal government 200% poverty level. But NOT PAM. They receive every penny from insurance and still want more. I have never seen such a greedy, non-caring hospital like this one. Now I know why the care was poor. They are vastly understaffed - they save money there. The hospital is not clean - they save money there. Staff almost offended if you ask for help - could be poor wages and they are saving money there. Someone's making a killing! Oh, one plus for them. The only clean thing there is the entry hallway. It shines like a diamond, but the rest of the place - not so much. I don't know if it is a non-profit or profit classified hospital but they do not - absolutely refuse to help the poor with any financial assistance whatsoever. I remember one man who walked the entry way hall a lot, greeting people, saving how's thing going and all that - like he really cared. What a farce! From every thing we saw, a few people are making a fortune, the rest not so much which is why you get mediocre care at P.A.M. Rehabilitation Hospital of Allen, Texas.

The second night he was there, he asked for pain medication and has to ask several times and after 3 hrs., they brought him medication. The room and bathroom was not clean and dirty gloves were left on the floor. He needed a bath and they got to him 5 days later which I found unacceptable. My experience with most of the staff was indifference. They sometimes wouldn't even respond to a question plus in many cases they were hard to understand because of dialect. When approaching one of the desk areas with 2-3 nurses, none of them looked up or acknowledged that I was there and very little eye contact and almost no smiling, I will give a positive shout out to Ruth bc she was the one bright spot there and always had a smile on her face and made you feel as though she cared. My husband truly felt like he was going do die there, so we immediately transferred and had him admitted to the ER in Texas Health in Frisco and had to have his Gall Bladder removed they said was very large, painful and will take quite awhile to heal. With the tests he was given at the Belmont, this was never picked up, so I am grateful that we left there and I absolutely would not recommend it to anyone with a loved one needing assistance. FYI, several doctors in Allen and Frisco had heard of the poor care at the Belmont but I'm not going to throw them under the bus! I would rate our experience as a minus 1. Also, the food is disgusting and smells terrible. Camille H. was spot on with her review. I literally had to leave one evening I felt like I was inhaling urine! Marilyn D.

We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. We collectively know that it was Accord Palliative and Hospice Care that went above and beyond for our family. Thank you guys so much for caring for us in our time of need. -Davis Family

The hospital referred us to Collinwood for her rehabilitation, and we had previously discussed the possibility of transferring her there for a higher level of care for her dementia. The staff at Collinwood expressed enthusiasm about her potential move for this enhanced care, and we began the necessary paperwork to facilitate this transition. Upon her arrival for rehabilitation, they were eager to have her, and we started working on her Medicaid application at their suggestion to ensure she could remain there instead of returning to the care home. Did you communicate this plan to the entire staff? We reiterated several times that our intention was not just for her to receive rehabilitation but to secure her permanent stay for the higher level of care. The staff appeared supportive and interested in making this happen while we were completing the Medicaid paperwork. They requested that we close out her life insurance policy, as it was a requirement for Medicaid approval for Collinwood, and we complied with this request. We dedicated numerous hours to ensure all necessary documentation for Medicaid was prepared for Collinwood. However, the day before her insurance coverage for rehabilitation expired, we were at the facility when an employee entered her room with her cell phone, stating that someone wanted to speak with us. Finding this unusual, we accepted the call on speakerphone. The caller, who was in their car and had personal matters to attend to, inquired about our mother's future placement. We informed them that we were in the process of securing Medicaid for her permanent stay at the facility. To our surprise, the caller insisted that Collinwood could not accommodate our mother and that she needed to return to her previous location. Despite our attempts to redirect the conversation, the individual repeatedly interrupted us, making it impossible to discuss the matter further, ultimately leading us to terminate the call. We approached the admissions representative who was handling our Medicaid paperwork, which we had just signed that same day. We informed her that we needed to retrieve the paperwork because we had been informed that our mother could not remain at the facility and was effectively homeless. The representative returned our paperwork, which did not indicate any concern regarding our situation. This lack of attention heightened our worries about our mother's homelessness. The following day, upon arriving at the facility, we discovered that our mother had been completely packed up, which we found quite strange. Nevertheless, we proceeded to collect her and her belongings and left the facility. Since that time, we have sent a detailed letter to them regarding this matter, but we have yet to receive a response. This situation has resulted in significant financial losses for us, including the loss of her insurance, and it appears they are indifferent to our plight. My advice to anyone considering their services is to avoid them.
