She was totally incapable of performing ANY needed tasks. Again, not properly vetted. Furthermore, they demand a credit card (and probably all such agencies do) prior to providing the service. And despite being given access to the appropriate insurance, which pays them directly, they bill the credit card. They end up being paid twice and the client is forced to deal with the credit card issue. The two stars, instead of one, are for the people who actually were helpful, both immigrants.

My mom now has two super friendly and kind young women who trade off supporting her during the week. She is so at ease with them. I was talking to her today and she randomly started singing "You're So Vain" and I could hear her companion singing along with her! Honestly I can't say enough good things about this company. The professionalism and personalized care starts right at the top with Larisa and is embodied by every person in the company I've engaged with. With that being said: my experience with VNS was absolutely discouraging for our health care system/provider. My father came home for (home hospice) on a Thursday afternoon. The assessment nurse was kind: however I say this respectfully..I couldn't understand what she was saying because she had a heavy accent. She went over his medication and assessed his body, took pictures of wounds etc. she did not do vitals or anything. (I don't know if that was a requirement) We were not provided with any medicine or supplies. Not even a little starter kit until something came in the mail. Friday My dad was having labored breathing. I called the 212-609-1920 and they advised me to give him some morphine. Ummmm with what you guys don't give us anything. NO INSTRUCTIONS. NOTHING. I had to call 911 - he was unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital on Friday afternoon and passed away early Saturday morning. My recommendation: DON' T USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! I am going all the way to the top with this complaint. I won't rest until I get proper ethical change with the company. It won't be about money. This is about PRINCIPLE.
