While the agency sent a replacement, this experience shows a critical lack of vetting. They also sent a tiny woman to assist (and lift) a six-foot man. She was totally incapable of performing ANY needed tasks. Again, not properly vetted. Furthermore, they demand a credit card (and probably all such agencies do) prior to providing the service. And despite being given access to the appropriate insurance, which pays them directly, they bill the credit card. They end up being paid twice and the client is forced to deal with the credit card issue. The two stars, instead of one, are for the people who actually were helpful, both immigrants.

My mom now has two super friendly and kind young women who trade off supporting her during the week. She is so at ease with them. I was talking to her today and she randomly started singing "You're So Vain" and I could hear her companion singing along with her! Honestly I can't say enough good things about this company. The professionalism and personalized care starts right at the top with Larisa and is embodied by every person in the company I've engaged with. I feel like there's this amazing team in place looking after my mom, which is very reassuring since unfortunately I live on the other side of the country.

The check written was for more than $14,000! They denied the check and the sale did not go through. Please dont call Brightstar. They hire disreputable people. Who is vetting their employees? My mother is now safe in a nursing home.. Who knows what else may have happened as time passed? They cannot be trusted.

I was given entirely too much medication during a four hour infusion..The young lady was busy going to YouTube for assistance as well as calling someone else to instruct her next steps. I was left unattended on two occasions while the infusion was still in motion. I could have had a bad reaction at any given moment. My mom nor myself would not have a clue how to handle it without the proper supervision. Finally we took action to call the agency after having a conversation with the young lady. She confessed that, she's not licensed and have zero intention to work in the medical field. We were overwhelmed by her inability of the medical field. The agency unfortunately denied everything and pretend to not have a clue of the case. The agency needs to be investigated. They shouldn't be in business profiting off of people's health and safety concerns are not taking consideration.

With that being said: my experience with VNS was absolutely discouraging for our health care system/provider. My father came home for (home hospice) on a Thursday afternoon. The assessment nurse was kind: however I say this respectfully..I couldn't understand what she was saying because she had a heavy accent. She went over his medication and assessed his body, took pictures of wounds etc. she did not do vitals or anything. (I don't know if that was a requirement) We were not provided with any medicine or supplies. Not even a little starter kit until something came in the mail. Friday My dad was having labored breathing. I called the 212-609-1920 and they advised me to give him some morphine. Ummmm with what you guys don't give us anything. NO INSTRUCTIONS. NOTHING. I had to call 911 - he was unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital on Friday afternoon and passed away early Saturday morning. My recommendation: DON' T USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! I am going all the way to the top with this complaint. I won't rest until I get proper ethical change with the company. It won't be about money. This is about PRINCIPLE.
